OOOPS- This is the Third book in The Little Shops on Heart Street series. Confession- I have not read the previous two books. I did not feel too lost by not reading the previous books.
We begin this book with Lizzie Cates, antique dealer discovering a century old china figurine while emptying out a house. A tall man arrives, and Lizzie calls the police on him. Too bad she doesn’t know who he is. He ends up in a ride to the police station and then later that day shows up at her shop to apologize and explain to her that he was there to look for the bird of paradise. They then negotiate a deal where he will work for her in the shop organizing items while she helps him look for the bird of paradise. We are then lead on an adventure with these two crazy kids looking for an antique and Lizzie not knowing who he really is, until she finds out. This would make a great little Hallmark film or miniseries. This is a feel-good book with just a pure adventure! I cannot wait to get my hands on the first two books and read them!

A Royal Second Chance Summer!

I don’t believe I’ve never read this author before! I truly enjoyed this book, as the writing draws you in and you enjoy the rollercoaster feelings by the characters throughout their journey. This book is the 3rd book in Viv Royce’s Little Shops on Heart Street series. And even though I haven’t read the previous 2 books, I was fine understanding the characters and the small town feeling.

Nicolas is a Prince of the country of Belford, but he was going incognito in the US, on a mission to find an antique automaton his grandfather had given to his soulmate when he was a young man. Nicolas felt this Bird of Paradise automaton was ‘stolen’ by a woman who manipulated his grandfather to give away something of great value. He wanted to find the box and return it to his grandfather for his 80th birthday. In the process of looking for the box, he comes across Lizzie. She’s alone inventorying the content of a home of a deceased widow. She mistakes Nicolas of someone looking to steal from her, and she calls the police on him. When Nicolas discovers she runs the antique store in town, he explains he wasn’t trying to steal and he solicits her help in finding the box. However, he still doesn’t reveal to her his true identity as he wants her help and is drawn to her personally. Lizzie, on the other hand, is also hiding the truth of her identity, or rather her family’s identity. Lizzie felt they all changed when they became well-known and had money. She wants to continue to hide and be herself, although she finds herself drawn more and more toward Nicolas. When Lizzie learns the truth about the box, learns the woman who has it in the US was always in love with Nicolas’ grandfather, and who Nicolas really was, she was hurt and could not see how her love could find a way to Nicolas. He, on the other hand, needed to understand true love and respect from his grandfather before he could see a path to seal his heart with Lizzie.

This is a sweet contemporary romance with a royal twist and great addition to this delightful series!

Lizzie Cates runs an antique shop on Heart Street. She’s moved there to escape the spotlight her family’s recent fame had put her under and is loving life in the small town. She’s keen to be involved in local events and is helping organise the town’s fourth of July celebrations.

Prince Nicolas is trying to find a family heirloom that his grandfather gave to a visiting American lady but he never dreamed that endeavouring to speak to the young lady clearing a house out would have the consequences which follow! He knows he’s only in town for a short time and he really shouldn’t be attracted to Lizzie, but can he resist trying to convince her to give him a chance? What will happen when she discovers he’s a prince?

This story has more than one royal romance in it and is a lovely story to escape into. The town and the people in it are brought to life and I love how they strive to look after Lizzie. There are lots of incidents to put a smile on your face – including when Nicholas gets knighted! I really enjoyed this book and will certainly be looking out for more in this series and others by this author in future. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this book to anyone looking for a lovely romance to escape into.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it and thoroughly enjoying doing so.

This is a very charming and sweet romance. Both main characters have secrets. Nicolas has traveled from a small European country and needs help in finding a piece of history very close to his family. Lizzie who just happens to specialize in antiques is hired to help Nicolas in his search. The story is very sweet and charming. The two develop feelings very quickly. The story did seem to move very slowly at times. Overall definitely a fairy tale romance. Fans of Hallmark would enjoy seeing this book made into a movie.

So I have never read anything by this author or in this series and if the other books in the series are half as good as this one then I can't wait to read them. I could not put this book down the author has a way of drawing you and where you loose all sense of time and you need to know what's going to happen. I was a fan of Nicolas for most of the book but there was on part where I literally wanted to just reach into the book and punch him.... UGH!! Hands down one of my favorite characters in the book was Ms. Thornton, her story was so powerful and just seem to leave its mark on your heart for sure. I understand why the author wrote her, but to me it just seemed like so much more. This book was a good clean read and was a quick read. I so want more. So worth grabbing it you won't be disappointed.

I love getting lost in a story! I had hard time putting this book down. A perfect book to read! Five Stars

Oh my Gosh this was such a cute and heartwarming story. It was a mix between the two fairytales Cinderella and The Nightingale.

Prince Nicolas of Belfort comes to Woods Creek in America to find a very important heirloom that his grandfather gave away to a woman he loved but wasn’t allowed to marry. Now that his grandfather turns eighty Nicolas wants to return The Bird of Paradise to make him happy.
In Woods Creek he meets Lizzie (Elizabeth) who owns the antique store on Hearts street and she agrees to help him find The Bird of Paradise if he helps her with preparing for the Fourth of July.
He agrees but he doesn’t tell her who he really is because he is intrigued by her and doesn’t want to intimidate her.
The more time they spend together the closer they get but what happens when she finds out who he really is and how will she react after having experienced a though childhood/adulthood fleeing from her family?

I loved that the story revolves around two love stories. The main story being Lizzie’s and Nicolas’s, Kind of a retelling of Cinderella but the secondary story being his grandfather and his former love Anna’s, kind of a retelling of The Nightingale.
I loved all the characters both main and side, they were all very sweet and charming and we also get to see former couples return and see how their relationships have evolved since their books.
Unfortunately I think that the main characters are to much in their heads and you first get their thoughts and then you get the thoughts again just written a little differently and in cursive writing. So it was also a little to repetitive.
But other than that I loved the story, the plot and the romances and I can definitely recommend this book.

I got this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

"A Royal Second Chance Summer" by Viv Royce

My Speculation:

A Cinderella story where the setting will involve Lizzie, who owned an antique shop, will meet Nicolas, who was a prince who was looking for a long lost item. What will happen when Lizzie finds how just who he is...a prince of Belfort. What was up with Lizzie that she seemed so ashamed of not wanting anyone to know about her famous family? Get ready for sparks to fly for these two during this summer holiday adventure in a small town. You will have to pick up this good read to see what will happen when secrets come out of just who this prince was and why it was so important to him to find this item for his grandfather's eighth birthday. I enjoyed the story of this hot royal and an American girl who didn't particularly like all the glamour. Will they find their HEA? Well, to find out, you will have to pick up 'A Royal Second Chance Summer' to see how this author brings it all out to the reader.

This is my first read of this series although I am a great fan of the author's mysteries (written under a different name).

Nicolas is in the States to search for a family heirloom. Lizzie, an antiques dealer, is just the sort of person who could help him only he doesn't make a very good first impression. As time goes on, however, there is no denying a mutual attraction but with neither of them being honest about their family situation - he's a Royal Prince, her family is rich - there is little chance of them ever getting together . . .

It's been a while since I read a gentle romance, and I really enjoyed this one. The characters are beautifully drawn, the setting is quite lovely and the story has a magical feeling about it. I'm sorry I didn't get to read the earlier ones in series, but I definitely hope to read more from Viv Royce. Her cosy mysteries are always terrific and I'm pleased that this romance also fills that criteria. A lovely, easy, feel-good read which I'm both happy to recommend and give 4 stars.

My thanks to the publisher for my copy via NetGalley; this is - as always - my honest, original and unbiased review.

I loved this novel. I found it to be a cute contemporary summer romance perfect for reading during these summer months. I actually love royal romances so I found this to be fun and light and I really enjoyed everything about it. Prince Nicholas was so adorable and their romance was actually very cute, I mean except that part that he didn't tell Lizzie that he was a prince but other than that I loved their relationship. I found the storyline of him trying to find an heirloom intriguing and fresh as most royal romances are all about how the character is royalty and this having that added layer of the plot made it so the story felt new and it makes you want to be there to witness Nicholas and Lizzie interacting.

It's a sweet feel-good kind of romance story that I enjoyed reading a lot. Prince Nicolas is on a personal mission of finding an antique piece for his grandfather. He wants to find it at all cost because this piece belongs to his country and not in the US. Lizzie is an antique dealer and she has agreed to help Nicolas to find what he is looking for. But in return she asks him to help with 4th of July decorations for her town. As the two spends time together they start falling in love. However, a match between them is not possible. There are too many complications and not to mention, Lizzie can't live a life in the spotlight. Will they ever be able to find happiness or is their romance doomed from the start?
If you're looking for a lighthearted fun story then this book is for you.

4 star review of  A Royal Second Chance Summer (Little Shops on Heart Street #3) by
Viv Royce

Viv Royce is a relatively new author to me. As with the first book I found this to be sweet romance, with a Royal flair. Although it is book three in the series, I had no trouble following.

This was an entertaining read that grabbed my attention and didn’t let it go until the last page. I found Viv Royce’s writing style to be enjoyable and the story flowed quite well, even though it was a tad predictable at times.

Nicolas is on a mission to find a family heirloom and return if for his grandfather’s birthday. Lizzie is convinced that he is up to no good and has him arrested. What follows is a story that will make you smile and will make you laugh.

As feelings deepen and love blossoms will Nicolas and Lizzie take the leap or will the secrets that lie between them destroy their fledgling relationship and break Lizzie’s heart?

This is the first book I have read by Viv Royce and it won’t be the last, I really enjoyed this entertaining sweet royal romance that left me smiling and feeling happy.
Nicolas is on a mission he wants to get a family heirloom back and give it to his grandfather for his upcoming birthday, he has found out a local antique dealer may know of its whereabouts but Lizzie fears he is there to rob her of a deceased woman’s valuables and she has him arrested. Being arrested doesn’t stop the instant attraction he feels for Lizzie and that when things get interesting because both of them are hiding secrets, both are not prepared to open up to who they really are. Will the secrets keep them apart or bring them closer together.....
This book has plenty of laugh out loud moments as well as a few cringeworthy moments, I smiled a lot and I swooned a lot as I fell in love with this couple. This is book 3 in The Little Shops on Heart Street Series but it can certainly be read as a stand-alone, I haven’t read any of the previous books yet and I still found this story sweet and entertaining. I will be looking at more books by this talented author and I hope I can find the time to read the previous books in this series.

By now everyone know my love for royal romances and I was excited to dive in this story from a new to me author. Nicolas and Lizzie was a couple as sweet as it can be, their meet up was a huge misunderstanding, but later their grow connection, friendship, support and love was so good.

Nicolas is crown heir from Belfort and he goes to the small town of Wood Creek to try to find a family heirloom his grandfather gave away. That’s when he meet Lizzie, she is a antique specialist with her own shop, and with a reputation in the area, she helps him find the bird of paradise.

I really like Nicolas, not for one moment he did a power show, and never acted like a spoiled heir. He used the time he was there to act like a normal guy, helping her with the town festivities, played with kids and puppies, was lovable, polite and more important he was always there for Lizzie. Of course he did one or two poor decisions, but never did anything disrespectful to her, he always took in consideration her feelings.

And I also enjoy her, she is very strong, with her own business, polite and very well liked in the town. However after she found out who he really was, I had a change of feelings. For some one who left her family because money changed them and how when she was younger she was judged and badmouthed in her town, she was quickly to judge him. Make no mistake she had every right to be angry at him, but her assumptions about his life and how he felt toward her drove my insane, she was very immature for not talking to him.

For me the real MVP of the story was Nicolas grandfather! I loved him so much and his wisdom. I’m so happy for him at the end, he deserved all of the best. As well for the main couple, I wish the epilogue was longer, but I really liked!

Nicholas is on a quest for the Bird of Paradise which has been in the Royal family of Belfort for generations but its been missing for few years now. A blunder by Nicholas’ Grandfather, the ruling monarch. Lizzi wants nothing but a normal life, she has first hand experience in what money could do to people. Her antique store is her life now and Nicholas was supposed to be one of the customers and nothing more. Their quest was not in vain, he did find the Bird of Paradise but he lost something more precious, was the price even worth it!? .
I enjoyed the book (I love stories about royals) but there actually wasn’t much of a plot twist or anything in it. The story was a little too obvious, i don’t know what else i was expecting. I liked the characters, no trouble there but I skipped almost the last two chapters cause i was in a hurry to get to the end. Half because i wanted to know what happened next. The book was actually small but still the last few chapters felt like a stretch. But other than that this was a good read and i loved it.

One of my favorite plots in fiction and movies are where girl meets guy and guy ends up secretly being a prince of some far away country and the girl ends up falling for him for who he is, not for his title.

This book had potential, but it didn’t end up being one of my favorite stories ever. However, I still liked certain parts of the story and how Lizzie also tried to be true to herself throughout the book.

Thank you Netgalley and publishers for allowing me the chance to read this book. This was a three star rating. A three star rating means I liked it, it wasn’t a bad book.

I was drawn to reading this by the fun cover after recently reading another cute contemporary summer romance.

A Royal Second Chance Summer tells the story of a secret wine heiress who was her own antique shop and the secret European Prince in town to find his grandfather’s lost family heirloom. They join together to find the heirloom and along the way they plan the towns’s big summer Fourth of July bash… also fall in love❤️.

But… as always when their secrets are reviewed they no longer trust each others emotions and the future of their romance does not look good… Nicholas does not know if love will be enough for a commoner to sustain their love when they must return to his obligations and join court life… Lizzie never wanted wealth and fame, just love. Why couldn’t Prince Nicholas just have been a regular guy?

A surprise character orchestrates their happily ever after in the end!

This was a quick read, that left me wishing for a little bit more development with the characters and their relationship. Overall, this was a fun, cute fairytale romance, perfect for a quick beach read!

This book is like taking the sweet romances from the ‘20s and putting them to modern times. If you are looking for a sweet, clean, romantic modern fairy tail, this is it.

Lizzie left California and her family after her parents and brother changed after achieving financial success. She believes that she has found happiness in her small town and her career as an antique dealer.

Nicolas is visiting a small town in the United States in an effort to locate one of his country’s heirlooms. He meets Lizzie and requests her help in locating the heirloom. Lizzie believes that Nicolas is a diplomat from his country; she has no idea that he is actually a crown prince.

Nicolas never expected to fall in love. He always believed that he would marry a woman with the right “qualifications” to be a princess., so he is really out of his element when he begins to fall for Lizzie. Lizzie begins to fall for Nicolas, but tries to hold back her feelings since she knows he is only visiting for a short time. When she finds out who he really is, she completely backs away - breaking both her heart and his.

Will two people who always expected different things from their lives, agree to compromise to find their HEA?
