Dirty Music by Shaun Sinclair is book three in his Crescent Crew series. Though part of a series, it works well as a standalone.

Rating - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A masterpiece: Will definitely read again.

Music mogul, Qwess and his gangster organization, the Crescent Crew, are at a crossroads. Complete legitimacy looms, but “the life” still beckons. The music industry is hot, but so are the streets. Qwess has released his newest superstar, and he is burning up both stage and screen. With their rivals closing in on all sides, can they sustain the fuel needed to feed the fire?

Sinclair is an urban fiction Don. He is writing on a genius level here. He continues to successfully utilize his literary formulation that mixes ghetto life and affluence. All the elements of a great urban novel are present: over-the-top gangsters, violence, sex, drugs and more violence. The characters are explosive. Love them or hate them. The plot is exquisitely complex with stunning twists and betrayals and holds the reader’s attention from page one until it drops you, completely stunned, from it’s grip at the very end. It’s all pros and no cons. I loved every aspect of this novel. Dirty Music is a definite 5 out of 5 stars. Readers who enjoy gritty urban fiction will find this novel truly compelling.

My thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Crescent Crew book 3 was almost as good as book 1. Everyone was back to add their personalities to Dirty Music. The ending has me upset, eager and ready for book 4. It definitely ended with a cliffhanger. Shaun Sinclair has something good going with this series. I'm a fan.

Thanks to Shaun Sinclair, the publishers and Netgalley for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.
