This book really conjures up all the magic of the Christmas season. I loved the idyllic small town setting and the vivid descriptions of Christmas celebrations. The romance comes across as genuine and sweet - it’s a lovely story that would work so well as a Christmas movie. It’s so heartwarming, I know I’ll be reading it again at Christmastime.

Picture yourself all dressed-up, dancing to All I Want for Christmas is You at the Bayberry Candlelight Dance on Christmas Eve. You would enjoy the occasion as much as I think you will enjoy this story, Christmas in Bayberry by Jennifer Faye.

This is a truly delightful Christmas Romance book. Bayberry is a small town built around The Bayberry Candle Company, the town''s major employer. Bayberry Candle Company is experiencing some financial difficulty and a consultant is brought in to assess the situation and make recommendations. Wesley Adams has to examine the books and give his advice to Kate Taylor's Aunt Penny, the company owner. Wes lived in Bayberry for a short time when he was a teenager and had a crush on Kate. Now that he is back in Bayberry and gets to spends lots of time with Kate and they become more than friends. Wes fears his job will spoil his new relationship with Kate.

I loved the Christmas spirit in Bayberry. In addition to the Candlelight Dance on Christmas Eve there's a special tree lighting ceremony in the town square complete with a singalong of Christmas songs and other festivities like toboggan races. The townsfolk decorate beautifully with lots of candles, of course. Just walking around town kicks in the Christmas spirit. All the characters are very likable, especially Kate and Wes. Readers who like small town Christmas Romances will really enjoy this book.

So, while this wasn't my favorite Hallmark book, it's one that I was actually able to easily envision as a movie, and think it'd be (the rare case) one that works out better as a movie. The story is sweet, with two characters who come to grips with their personal flaws and come together in the clean romantic fashion for which Hallmark is known!

Thank you to Net Galley, Hallmark Publishing and Jennifer Faye for the advanced copy of Christmas in Bayberry.

As a lover of Hallmark movies I was excited to read this book and it did not disappoint. The book is set in a small, closeknit town that oozes with Christmas charm. I appreciated the main male character was introduced first rather than the female which was a nice change from what I am used to in this genre of books. I also enjoyed that although the main characters had crossed paths as teenagers this wasn't a story of rekindling years later. I felt like the conflicts both main characters were facing were well-balanced and they drove their blooming relationship. As with most Hallmark stories, there was, albeit predictable, a happy ending.

There were a few things I found slightly far-fetched, mostly around the fact that the town is incredibly small get very few people remembered the male character from his teenaged years. It was later noted that he was only there a short time but I still felt like more people would have known him.

Overall this book was highly enjoyable and a great escape from reality!

Christmas in Bayberry by Jennifer Faye is a great, heartwarming, festive Christmas romance in small-town Bayberry.

This book has all that we love in a classic Hallmark story. A great setting set in a close-knit town, a wonderful cast of characters that live throughout the area, two people that seem different and come from different worlds, yet are more alike then they even realize. Obstacles are overcome, and two souls find one another.

I enjoyed the main characters: Kate Taylor and Wesley Adams. They are both likeable and realistic and have great chemistry together. They definitely seem to work well together and bring out the best in each other. I enjoyed the plot, dialogue, and I felt that the story ran smoothly and kept me engaged. It really puts me in the holiday spirit (in the middle of spring no less).

5/5 stars
