Owen and Leyla were friends to enemies to lovers. Although, Owen never knew why they were enemies, and when Leyla finally lets him know, there are misconceptions that come to light. When they finally come together, it is strong and sexy. You will not be disappointed. I certainly wasn't and holy hell enjoyed this!

Owen and Layla reconnect after he purchases the medical practice she's working at. Layla has a hatred for Owen cannot understand why. All the animosity was due to a misunderstanding which leads to them learning how to rebuild a relationship. As they enter into a relationship they soon discover how perfect they are for one another and learn how to love each other at the end. They both learn how to leave the past in the past and move forward in a good way.

Oliver and Layla seemed destined to be together since high school if only they could get over their insecurities and mis-understandings and speak to each other. Oliver isn’t quite sure how to live now that he doesn’t need to worry about money and Layla has endured some hard times which she is not sure others would understand. Together with their friends and family they find their way to each other. My favourite type of book is a series with recurring characters and this book brought back a lot of old favourites and gave a little more insight to new characters who I hope we will learn more about. This book left me feeling warm & cuddly and was finished the same day that I received it.

I can't believe that Endeared is the last book in The Accidental Billionaires series. The Sinclairs were one of my favorite families ever since I picked up Entangled (book 2) back in what feels very distant 2019 and I have been reading about them falling in love ever since. Owen was a little bit of a mysterious character since the moment we met him and I wanted to see what was going on inside his head and what kind of woman would make him want to spend forever with her.

As it turns out, the one for him is Layla, who had been friends with him in high school. After an incident, Layla stopped talking to him, and even when the book began she was chilly towards him. We don't find right away the reason behind Layla's attitude, but it also doesn't take much time. The frustrating part is that it there was communication back then, this wouldn't have happened, but Owen's behavior was indeed suspicious, even though he was acting weird for a different reason. The rest of the story was good and I time flew by.

What I liked the most about this book is that I never doubted Owen's love for Layla. I did want him to smack his head for a second though. He is a little quirky but he tried to do the best for her and that's all I could ask for. Layla is not bad, but she kinda lost me when she revealed the reason why she was acting so cold towards Owen. I didn't dislike her, but I also didn't love her. Still, I have some respect for her and what she went through. These two worked well together though and they were entertaining.

During the events of the book, we also have Mr. Darkhumor. He is someone Layla met through the 'Not just a hookup" app and I really liked the guy. He is just a friend to her and he was really supportive. I really want to read his story and I hope that the author will release it soon. The reveal of his identity and what happened next were very emotional.

Overall, the book was good and I am looking forward to seeing more of them in the author's other series. Since this is the last Sinclair book, I can safely say that I am recommending not only this book but the series as a whole.

Layla did not have the best childhood with a father left her during high school while living with an absentee mother. She did the best that she could, given the circumstances, and was lucky to have her life turn out well, given her past situation.

Owen Sinclaire is a smart boy from the start and has a tight-knit family behind him to help him through his journey. He was lucky to have had the opportunity to leave California to head East (Boston) for medical school upon graduation.

The book starts us off ten years before as Layla and Owen prepare for college. It's a sweet discussion that brings hopes and dreams for the two young adults. Readers can feel the sorrow that two friends have to part ways for college in different parts of the country.
Fast forward to ten years later; both characters ended up working for each other - Owen as the doctor that acquired the clinic that Layla was working for a while now. Their unexpected reunion didn't have the effect that Owen first thought would be. Layla has been trying her best to avoid the boy she hung out often in high school because of something that happened during their last days of school. That is where the story takes an interesting take from friends to enemies to "more".

I could say that this book has excellent progression. It spans for more than ten years and brings back Layla and Owen when building their careers. It tells us a lot about their strong friendship and trust but what came out of a strong turned into a crumbling tower brought forth by geographical distance.

Layla's whole career direction changed with what she blames Owen for, but as she looks at things, she is happy where she is at - helping women in the health care department. She could not see herself doing anything else, so maybe, the "one door" that closed on her opened a better and brighter future. She did get reunited with Owen because of this.

I wanted to point out that both main characters are flawed or 'broken' in some way. They might be successful professionals, but they still have their backgrounds that seem to put their self-worth into question each time they are together.

Trust had to be rebuilt by Layla, and Owen after the "truth" came out. I feel for Owen, who was oblivious to what was wrong with the friendship, and Layla shutting down on him till he took matters on his own hands and talked about it. It was a great relief as I read it since it seems like a big misunderstanding and cleared up within a few chapters at the start.

Ironically, after getting that "misunderstanding" cleared up and I can breathe a bit, Layla's "dark past" that she shared with Owen was wreathed with "issues". Owen was bothered by one of these traumas that he even asked his brothers' to help him with it. Owen took upon himself to protect Layla.

**Please note that this book touches a bit on depression. Some scenes may trigger some readers. I appreciate some discussion on the topic and steps taken to cope and slowly overcome this disease. There is a section after the book that J.S. shares with readers to bring awareness. I hope you do read through it and let others know that there are ways to cope and overcome depression before its too late.

Owen has his "new life" to adjust from, and although it gave him the reason to make a deal with Layla, it still bothered that he had to speak to his brothers on it. Good thing that he had a close family relationship with his siblings, especially his brothers, to get him straightened out when it counted.

I enjoy love stories like these wherein there is a steady foundation forming between two characters. It is not the typical "insta-love" and more like growing love over the years. The trust that comes out from these types of relationships develops into something deeper, a mature look at how friends become something more in the end. I can say that this book rounds out the feeling of young love to true love.

I appreciate books that create good, strong family bonds, and this book shows the whole family, even extended family members. Without knowing it - one of Owen's family members met at an eventful evening in the past, made it possible for Owen and Layla to end up together a decade later. They reunite again weirdly at an online chat service that I found adorable!

I highly recommend this book for those who enjoy reading about a love tested through time and distance, loves 'second chance' romances, and loves main characters with flaws but find the strength to pursue the love and life they deserve. The books are in a series to get to know the other Sinclairs and Montgomerys in the story. I know it will surely be an interesting read since it's from J.S. Scott!

This is the last stand-alone book in the Accidental Billionaires series and my first J.S. Scott book.

I read this one so fast! It was really cute and pleasantly surprised at how much I ended up enjoying it. I was a little hesitant based on how it started - I just get annoyed when a book starts out with friends to enemies based on one of the best friends making an assumption and allowing that to destroy a friendship without even having a discussion or letting the other individual know they are upset. And then holding onto that for 10 years to then find out the assumption was incorrect. While that piece had me unsure, the eventual friends to lovers part of the story won me over. Owen and Layla’s falling in love had me swooning and emotional. There were many ups and downs - my heart hurt for Layla. I was so unsure on how I was going to feel about her past that she was hiding from Owen. When she finally revealed her vulnerabilities it killed me.

Owen and Layla had been best friends in high school. Layla devastated her and 2 best friends leaving to go to college thousands of miles away.. and not to mention she believes Owen has done something so mean to her that she cuts ties with him immediately. Fast forward 10 years, Layla works in the practice Owen, the overnight billionaire doctor, just purchased - Layla’s grudge still holding on. Now they are forced to face the past and move forward together.

It was a sweet story and it really shines light to how destructive depression and thoughts of suicide are to an individual. If those types of themes are upsetting to you, this might not be a read you want to dive into. It’s raw and emotional at times and I definitely enjoyed it.

I was thrilled to read Layla and Owen story, and what a story it is. Heartbreaking and joyous.

Both are lovely characters that have had to get through so much, with so much determination to succeed and help others.
There are some really important issues covered in this book, and I love the fact JS Scott addresses this in the end of the book too.
Well written and a pleasure to read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Layla and Owen used to be best friends until something happened right before graduation that caused Layla to stop talking to Owen. Now, after years of working his butt off to graduate from med school, Owen is home with his own clinic and working with Layla.

Layla isn't too pleased with Owen since she thinks he screwed her over before graduation. Sadly she's being thrown together with Owen time and time again since her best friend married his brother. When they figure out the misunderstanding Owen jumps at the chance to be more than friends and asks her to be his pretend girlfriend, hoping that over time they'll become more.

J.S. Scott wrote such an amazing story with Endeared. The story had the perfect amount of including the past stories in the series without overloading it and making us first-timers to the series feel like we need a code breaker to understand the story.

Owen and Layla felt like such relatable and fun characters. Owen struggled with the fact that after he was finished chasing his dream that life had moved on without him and he had to someone find out who he and his siblings were again after all that time.

Layla was dealing with a lot of her past trauma and things that she hid from everyone close to her. I enjoyed how she slowly started realized she had people around her that would be there for her and that cared about her so she was able to open up about her concerns.

Endeared was a great story. I enjoyed the slow build of the characters getting together.

I loved Owen and Layla’s story which stemmed from their high school friendship. There was plenty going on other than just their romance with both Layla’s secret and the reason behind their falling out that happened before the time setting of the book. I really liked having a little catch up with the other characters from the previous books in the series as well but this could also be read as a stand alone.

Endeared (The Accidental Billionaires, Book Five) was another great read by J.S. Scott. Owen Sinclair is now living his dream as a family physician. Owen only has eyes for Layla, his clinic’s nurse practitioner. But she seems to have no interest in him. They have been best friends since school but she can’t admit to him that she wants him. I really enjoyed reading Owen and Layla’s story and can’t wait to read more by J.S. Scott.

I've been a longtime fan of J.S. Scott and while this one wasn't my favorite, it was still good and in my opinion worth a read. She's managed to avoid many of the pitfalls of other authors I've read with multiple books around the same families and I still enjoy her writing. We met (and fell in love with) Owen in Enchanted and while I wasn't totally engaged by Enchanted, I found Endeared a great follow up. A misunderstanding from years ago have kept Layla and Owen apart and they've found each other again and it really bothered me that they didn't just talk about it. For such good friends previously there are still things they don't know about each other than I feel like they should have, but for all my criticisms, I still think this one is worth a read. I really enjoyed from about halfway on to the end, and that reminded me why I keep reading Scott's work. This series hasn't been my favorite by Scott, but out of the now 5 books in this particular series available, I think this one is my favorite.

I was given an advance copy for review.

I absolutely love all of J.S Scott's books, and this one is no different. Owen and Layla's story is a second chance romance, it started years prior and left a heartbroken Layla. 10 Years later Owen shows up as the new doctor in town and ends up right where Layla is working as a nurse practitioner. She is still hurt from what happened and Owen tries to find out what happened. What an emotional roller coaster that will keep to reading until the end. This is book 5 in this series but they can all be read individually. A must read.

5 Stars

Owen and Layla needed their story and it is perfect. The youngest Sinclair has finally come home after years of school to become a physician and crossing paths with Layla, his new nurse practitioner, is both a blessing and curse. What happens when the woman you were best friends with in high school barely speaks to you? Well Owen finds out because he is stubborn and refuses to let whatever is getting in the way stand between him and the woman he has wanted to have by his side for over a decade. This story is full of intense feelings, emotional moments and plenty of passionate moments. When both of them are able to open up and be honest about their pasts, and what they felt then, and still feel now, the future can be everything they ever wanted!

This is the first time I read a book by the author and it was a fine story. I think the pace of Owen and Layla's story was great. It didn't go too fast or too slow. They moved on pretty fast after they know what really happened that made Layla hate Owen. But it was kind of trivial the reason why she hated him, all those years wasted hating on him. I liked Jax's part in Layla's life though. That was an unexpected twist in the story.

Overall, this is a fine read for me.

Owen is the youngest of the Sinclair brothers, he has always had a plan and stuck to it. He went to Boston to college to become a doctor. His best friend Andi went with him to attend college as well. They went off to college together and left thier friend Layla home to attend college in California. Owen mangaged to get himself thur college and be there for Andi as she battled cancer without lettinf anyone back home know.
Now Owen is home to Citrus Beach and Andi is married to his older brother and Layla works for him in the clinic he bought from a retiring doctor. Layla ended up going to college and becoming a nurse practioner. Layla tolerates Owen but doesn't want to have anything to do with him outside of the clinic and he cant understand why. They were really close friends in high school and he cant figure out what he has done to make her not want to spend time with him.
Layla had worked hard all her life to be someone. She has hid her past from her very best friends. She is holding a grudge against Owen and doesn't want to be any where near him. How can she trust him when she thinks he screwed her out of a scholarship?
Can these two work out the feelings and resentment and deal with the smoking chemisty they share. Relationships take communication, trust and lots of faith.
Great well written story, suprise or two included.

This book is about the youngest Sinclair, Owen and his one time best friend and crush, Layla. Owen had finally finished medical school and has returned home to start practicing medicine. He now works along Layla who holds animosity towards Owen for something that supposedly happened when they were in high school. Owen doesn’t know that he did but is determined to find out. When the truth comes out the two must decide if they want to pursue a relationship.

I received a copy of this book for a honest review.

Another easy yet addictive read. Endeared is Owen and Layla's story. I love a good second chance romance, but this isn't a good one, it's a great one! Owen was, just like his brothers before him, an easy character to love, he is protective and fiercely loyal. I loved his approach to winning Layla over! Layla was sweet and sassy but also fierce and determined - all fantastic qualities in a leading lady!

The story was written beautifully. The pace of the book was spot on and many of the characters that we have come to love from previous books made an appearance. I love the dynamics of the different relationships. The relationship between 'Dreamer' and 'Dark' was very intriguing throughout the book, and I must admit I was wrong in my thinking about Dark's identity. And when that came out, I will admit I may have had a lump in my throat.

The book was full of emotion; I always find that this author subtly makes you feel the emotions, and although they build gradually the end result packs one heck of a punch.

Can't wait for more from this author.

I absolutely adored Owen and Layla. After working so hard to become a Dr, Owen finally has time to relax. Owen and Layla have been best friends since high school. A mistake leads Layla to blame Owen and Layla avoids him like the plague. Finally home and ready to start as a doctor Owen is determined to find out why Layla hates him. Can these two overcome mistakes that were made or is it too late.

Absolutely love the ending to the Sinclair's saga. The journeys we have taken with each book have been works of art.

Owen and Layla are the best from the start of best friends to just mire acquaintances/colleagues. The story is so intertwined and the amount and depth of love shown is heart-melting as well as but wrenching beautiful.
One could only hope to have a love like theirs.
