This book is a delight. I love pie, all sorts, and Erin delivers! I have watched many of her YouTube videos, and this book reads just like she speaks! I bought a physical copy of this as well. Thank you so much for a lovely addition to my cookbook collection!

I'm ages late but I made most of the recipes from this book. I love pies and I absolutely love this book! So many yummy recipes and so easy to follow!

A wonderful and comprehensive book on pies. Another great surprise, Savory pies are also included. Is amazing step by step instructions, reliable recipes,and a nice variety of pies. recommended!

A collection of very creative and novel pies, including a fantastic chapter on savory options. McDowell’s recipes often give me some trouble, particularly her crust recipe, but this book is beautifully shot and very original.

So many beautiful photographs of pies. I'm not much of a baker but I thought these recipes were easy to follow.

I LOVE looking at pies. They are such beautiful examples of culinary exploration! Erin McDowell's "The Book on Pie" is practically perfect in every way. I fell for the lovely and realistic photos, you can see filling spills and slightly darker than golden brown crusts, and staid for the delicious recipes. Many times with pastry cookbooks everything is immaculate to the point that I psych myself out to not even attempt a recipe because I know my version will be far from perfect. McDowell's book makes pie baking feel attainable and something to practice and mix and match until something delicious is found. There are far too many recipes to list that I will be trying in my kitchen to name! I encourage anyone who loves pie and wants to improve their pie game to check out this book! Happy Baking!

I am afraid I can't review this book as I could not open it. However it does look good and would recommend it nevertheless.

Oh pies. I love them so much. who doesn't.
But it is so hard to get the crust just right and the filling so delicious.
This book is a great help, if you want to master pie baking.
Just know, that sometimes, the recipes are a tiny bit hard to follow.

Who doesn't enjoy baking (and even more, eating!) delicious pies. This book has separate chapters on different kinds of pies (fruit, custard, cream, etc.) with beautiful mouth-watering photographs. For a more novice baker (such as myself) this is a great for beginning pie making, as well as offering recipes and ideas for more advance pie projects!

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Excellent book about baking pies. Now I dislike crust on pies, but I am excited to try some of the crust suggestions in this book. Also loved the pie pops and so many glorious pie flavors I never thought of like Frybread Taco Pie and Cherry Clafoutis Pies. Yum

A must-have for every (amateur) baker! While I'm not a big user of cookbooks, this one was great! Even the least skilled bakers can do it with The Book on Pie! It explains certain ingredients and techniques in a unique way that I've never seen before. Highly recommend it!

The Book on Pie had a lot of useful tips, the recipes showed step by step on how to make pies.
The photos were so gorgeous, it made me want to instantly go make a pie.

This book is perfect for anyone, beginner or not, it includes so many helpful info that anyone can follow and try.

I have been wanting to do more pie baking and this book is great! It has a lot of great information and I know I will be trying out these recipes.

I loved the selection of recipes and varieties of pies. However, the Adobe DRM advance copy that I received was so difficult and time consuming to use, I was not able to try out the recipes. Publisher - please do not use Adobe DRM.

There is a great amount of variety in McDowell's, The Book on Pie, with nearly every crust, filling, and crimping style one can imagine. Personally, I did not love the layout of this book but I think it will appeal to beginning bakers and fans of McDowell's work. As a food stylist, McDowell's photos in this work are incredibly appetizing!

I have been following Erin Jeanne McDowell for a while on Instagram and watching her videos and following her recipes. I was beyond excited to see her announce a book solely on pies! This book has a bit of everything for the novice to the expert. I have a hard time with crusts and this let me really dive in and finesse my issues. Also the flavor combinations for some of these pies were revelations!

Love this cookbook! So much, in fact, that I bought myself a finished copy, in addition to asking my library to purchase it for our collection.

A beautiful book full of great tips and tricks to demystify pie baking. If pie crust is your nightmare (it’s mine!) do yourself a favor and buy this book. McDowell shows you how to do it step by step. I love how many variations she provides for each recipe (ie. try this crust instead, etc) - you’re sure to have ingredients in the house for one of them!

Be happy. Buy this book. Bake pies.
