Katie's Cornish Kitchen is a feel good book in every way possible. It's about Katie who's been gifted a chance at rebuilding her life after her fiance takes off with all their money and her journey towards finding herself and come to terms with what life has offered her. I really liked the book's focus on community and the little ways we can all contribute to make our community stronger. While Katie's internal monologue was a bit too much for me, I appreciated the character development she went through. I do wish that the book had shorter sentences and the "impromptu" life changing advice that Katie is offered throughout the book felt less preachy. The plot is just there, the conflicts feel very forced, but the ending does bring with it a sense of satisfaction for the reader and Katie, and I do appreciate that. The author has taken care to include some great recipes for those of us who were positively salivating at her descriptions of the various delicious delights offered in Katie's Cornish Kitchen.

Katie has been dumped. Is there any worse feeling in the world? Well yes, but it’s still a pretty awful feeling. Feeling at a loss, Katie is buoyed by an offer from her friend Agatha, to run Agatha’s cafe in Cornwall. Katie is tempted, but what if she fails? She just can’t stand the thought of losing everything….again. Luckily, there are plenty of friendly local folks who are more than willing to help Katie make a success of the cafe. The only problem is the local property developers who have designs on the cafe. For all who dream of living in, or visiting Cornwall, this is a close, and delicious second to being there in person
