This book was just adorable!!!! As a thirty-something year old, it brought me back to the days of reading Nancy Drew or the Sweet Valley High books.

The Mysterious Adventure Society is on the case of a missing fourth grade girl that vanished in a local forest. The MAS has another group of boys that are trying to figure out what they're up to. The characters are so vivid and adorable. They reminded me of the group from Stranger Things or the group from IT.

I loved this feel good adventure that had a great mystery. It was very well written and it makes me yearn to visit California.

A special thank you to NetGalley and Steve McManus for providing me with a reader copy.

Calendula Cool is a young adult book about a group of fifth graders in Calendula, CA who hear of a “vanishing girl” in the nearby woods and go to investigate.

This is a very good mystery novel . The characters are well developed. . The problems of grade school “popularity” and bullying are well written. The core group of boys who have created the “Mysterious Adventure Society” are fun to read about.

If you like YA novels, mysteries, and adventures, you will like this book.

I received a free copy of this book from the publishers via Netgalley. My review is voluntary.
