Thank you so much to NetGalley and Harlequin for my copy of Christmas at Holiday House by RaeAnne Thayne in exchange for an honest review. It published October 13, 2020.
Oh I regret not reading this sooner! This was the perfect Christmas book! It wasn't too Hallmark and it was way more believable. I highly recommend this one!

There is something different about reading a Christmas-themed book in the summer. I felt like I was transported into a land of Christmas trees, candy canes, and gingerbread houses, and I love that.

Abby lost her husband and is looking for a new beginning. Abby decided to help her friend’s grandmother in Colorado for a while. Abby met Winnie’s grandson, who was not very welcoming at first. With some Christmas spirit and some spontaneously, Ethan opened his heart up again and fell in love with Abby.

This isn’t the Hallmark Channel holiday romance I expected, but it was still a cute, heartwarming Christmas-themed book.

Thank you to NetGallery and Harlequin Publishing for giving me a copy for my honest review.

I haven't read as many of the Colorado series as I have Haven Point. But they share Thayne's beautiful descriptions of place and fine family storytelling. A great holiday read.

A fantastic read especially during the holiday season. Return to Silver Bells and can't but fall in love with Grandma Winnie. This is a typical RaeAnne read which you enjoy each time you pick up her book. Touches the heart. I look forward to reading more and more of her books.

This romance conjured up feelings of the season with the decorating of Holiday House. The romance was cute and a bit spicy. This was my first novel by this author, and it was worth the read.

The characters in this heartwarming story will stay with me for along time. I quickly became attached to Winnie the matriarch and the concept of Holiday House. The setting is picture perfect for a winter read. Abby has suffered a huge loss in her life so she and her son Christopher decide to help out a friend and in the long run find happiness. Each character grows as the book unfolds and the author does a splendid job of developing each of them in due time. I want to visit Silver Springs. #ChristmasAtHolidayHouse #NetGalley

I received an ARC of RaeAnne's Christmas book Holiday House in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. Having read previous books of RaeAnne's I knew what to expect in when it came to writing style and character development. However, each book always tackles a new real life struggle that a reader could be going through.

I really enjoyed that in addition to her main characters she also added a sub love story with Ethan's sister and best friend. I think this added something different to your typical holiday romance books out there. She did a great job through out the story transition between the characters stories effortlessly with out it being choppy.

In regards to the actual storyline I really connected with this story on a personal note being that I recently lost my grandmother and it reminded me of the times that we spent together.

I think this is a great stand alone novel but could definitely see her making it into a series.

I recommend this book to readers who are looking for a holiday romance but also a heartfelt story of loss and finding love again.

While this book is enjoyable, it felt like a fairly typical Christmas romance. Moving on with her life following her husband's death, Abby and her son offer to help a friend heal from an injury during the holiday season. Along the way, she gets roped into helping with a holiday showcase at Holiday House and spending time with the friend's grandson who is dealing with a broken engagement. While Abby plans to heave Holiday House after Christmas, the draw the people she meets and the potential love of a man have her questioning her plans.

The book does a good job of bringing the holiday spirit. It makes the town of Silver Bells and Holiday House sound like a magical place to visit. I also liked that it celebrates people of special needs as there is prominent character with Down Syndrome. The author brings her usual sweet charm to this holiday book, however, in a sea of Christmas romances, I don't feel as though it stands out above the rest.

I am a huge fan of RaeAnne Thayne's writing and how she makes you feel a part of the story. I have not read a book by her that I have not liked. Her stories draw you in and you feel connected to the characters. This Christmas book was no different. You will not want to quit reading until you have finished.

Abigail Powell is a retired nurse that is looking to make a new start in a new city. Abigail and her son are looking for a place to try their new start. Abigail has been hired to take care of her friends grandmother, Winnie. Winnie insists that she doesn't need help with anything health wise but she does need Abigail to help her decorate her huge house for a fundraiser for the holidays. Abigail gets into the mood of being festive and takes on the challenge but never dreamed she would get some backlash from Winnie's grandson about the decorating. Ethan is not one that is known for his festive much but rather his grinchy moody.

Ethan has been told that he is not capable of love and he believes it now. He has all but given up on finding love now. When Ethan is asked to help Abby decorate, he is not happy about it but decides that he can help her because he enjoys spending time with her and if he has to do it decorating, then that is what he is going to do. Ethan knows that Abby and her son are only there until after Christmas, but something about her keeps drawing him to her and he is wondering if he is really capable of love.

As things progress for Abby and Ethan, their time together is winding down and they have to decide where they are going to go from here after Christmas. Ethan begins to envision himself in a home with Abby and her son. How is this possible from a guy that was told he would never be capable of love?

This is a great story and you will love following Abby and Ethan to see how things turn out for them. This a great Christmas story to curl up by the fire with. I love Christmas stories and can read them all year long. I can't wait for more stories from RaeAnne Thayne!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all opinions are my own. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book.

Christmas at Holiday House is a delightful and charming Christmas story. It is a multi-generational story revolving around a beautiful Victorian house, known as the Holiday House. The owner of the house, 80 something Winnie, had a fall and needed a bit of help. Abby Powell and her son Christopher are asked by Abby's best friend if they could take care of her until she gets home. Thus begins this Christmas romance that is so much more.

I loved all the characters in this book, including the house that is a character in its own right. There is chemistry between Abby and Ethan right from the start, but they both have some baggage and things they need to deal with before anything could happen. The secondary romance is a gift that I also enjoyed. Winnie, her friends and the town's residents add so much to this story. Throw in a town called "Silver Bells" and you know there has to be a lot of Christmas cheer. I am not doing this story justice, but I do not want to spoil it for anyone. Suffice it to say, this is one of my favourite Christmas reads this year. It is a story of love, family, friendship, Christmas, and taking a leap of faith in life.

Thanks so much for allowing me to read a copy of this book! Im happy to have added it to my holiday reading list. I enjoyed the characters and the setting very much. It had many of the elements that I love in a Christmas story.

My only complaint is that it was a tiny bit dialogue heavy in the middle and dragged a bit for me. I needed a fast pace but overall, it was an enjoyable book to read. I have enjoyed many of this authors previous books as well and so plan to read more in the future!

Sometimes I’m just in the mood for an uncomplicated, easy read and when that mood strikes, I know I can always count on RT to deliver. If it’s a holiday book from her then it’s even better because besides her trademark sweet and tender vibes you get all the holiday cheer as well! This was no exception and totally fit the Bill as far as being exactly the right book at exactly the right time for me.

A quaint little setting is so important for me in a romance and Silver Bells was beyond idyllic. It brought all the Christmas charm and had me wishing I lived there alongside the characters. I really liked both Abby and Ethan and found them to be a believable match, and then the bonus addition of Abby’s son and Ethan’s grandmother added so much warmth to an already warm story. There’s a secondary romance between two side characters as well, which was fun, overall there was lots going on here in the romance department on a very PG level. Think Hallmark movie type romance and this book is it, in fact it would make a wonderful movie, all of the authors books would actually buy definitely add this to your December TBR.
