This collection of Camus' work was most interesting. The quote, "A society based on symbols is, in its essence, an artificial society in which the physical truth of humankind becomes a hoax." This book is an incredible introduction for me personally into the mind of Camus. The way 'art', for example, foils his philosophies and critiques on everything from the abstract to the ordinary was honest and biting. Moreover, I remain moved by the way he assessed social justice topics, including discussion on capital punishment.
