Autumn Skies by Denise Hunter is the final book in the Bluebell Inn series. I’m sad to see it end. I’ve enjoyed the series with the siblings saving the Inn that had been their parents dream.

Autumn Skies is Grace’s story. The other siblings are ready to sell the resort and move on with their life. Grace is going to stay in their small town with her business.

Wyatt ends up at the Inn to deal with a tragedy from his childhood that happened when he was in Bluebell.

The author created some hilarious scenes between them. And some touching scenes as they were getting to know each other. They both were dealing with survivor’s guilt from different situations. I loved the sweet romance between them.

Adam and Molly were one of my favorite couples so I was thrilled to see scenes with them. I still don’t like the brother Levi.

Autumn Skies by Denise Hunter is the final book in Bluebell Inn Romance series. All three of these stories in this series have been well written. This story was my favorite as it features the youngest of the Inn owning siblings, Grace. This is Grace and Wyatt’s story that is full of life, future choices, and completeness. These two characters are both suffering from grief and survivor’s guilt that they need to resolve to feel complete. I love how the story evolves and how the attraction becomes stronger. This is a Christian romance story with growth, humor, and heartache. Very well done and I highly recommend it. I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Denise Hunter saved the best for last in this heart-tugging, inspirational series about three siblings whose lives are forever changed with the sudden, and unexpected, deaths of their parents. Grace has been my favorite since first meeting her as a high school student in book one, Lake Season. From the beginning, she's seemed older than her years, determined in her focus, and dedicated to the future she envisions. In Autumn Skies, we discover the events in her past that have helped form the person she is and the unexpected connection with a mysterious guest that just may determine the course of her future.

Hunter delves into some heart-wrenching issues in this book, giving the story a more serious foundation while also balancing it with Grace's upbeat, adventurous spirit. I enjoyed the attraction between Grace and Wyatt, the low-key flirting, and the slow-growing relationship that developed between them. My heart ached for Wyatt as his difficult history - and current quest - were revealed and my admiration for Grace grew stronger as her connection came to light. These two had both suffered unimaginable emotional trauma. I appreciated the care that Hunter took to delve into their pasts and guide them toward the future and eventual healing. I loved them together and was in their corner cheering them on the entire way.

Once again, the realistic dynamic among the Bennett siblings shines bright and I was happy to see all three of them, and their partners, at the center of this book. The conclusion to the series was exactly what I had hoped and even though I know this is a product of Denise Hunter's imagination, I'm still convinced a short drive into the mountains would bring me to the doorstep of the Bluebell Inn and some of my favorite fictional characters.

If you enjoy Christian romance with humor, heart, and realistic, engaging characters into whose lives you'll become completely immersed, give Denise Hunter's Bluebell Inn trilogy a try. Though each book can be read on its own, I highly recommend reading them in order: Lake Season, Carolina Breeze, and Autumn Skies.

The third and final installment in the Bluebell Inn Romance series features the youngest of the inn-owning siblings, Grace, and a secret service agent, Wyatt. Sparks fly despite the gap in their ages and their seemingly incompatible life goals. Both are suffering the long-lingering effects of grief and survivor's guilt, and, amidst some rigorous hikes meant to bring closure for Wyatt, they manage to fall in love.

While not my favorite book in the series (that would be the first, Lake Season), it was still an enjoyable escape with good chemistry between the main characters and an intriguing hero in Wyatt. It also gave the reader a look at how far Grace's siblings had come and how their romances had developed.

Title: Autumn Skies
Author: Denise Hunter
Genre: Romance
Rating: 4.5 out of 5

When a mysterious man turns up at Grace’s family-run inn, it’s instant attraction. But she’s already got a lot on her plate: running the Bluebell Inn, getting Blue Ridge Outfitters off the ground, and coping with a childhood event she’d thought was long past.

A gunshot wound has resurrected the past for secret service agent Wyatt Jennings, and a mandatory leave of absence lands him in Bluebell, North Carolina. There he must try and come to grips with the crisis that altered his life forever.

Grace needs experience for her new outfitters business, so when Wyatt needs a mountain guide, she’s more than happy to step up to the plate. As their journey progresses, Grace soon has an elusive Wyatt opening up, and Wyatt is unwittingly drawn to Grace’s fresh outlook and sense of humor.

There’s no doubt the two have formed a special bond, but will Wyatt’s secrets bring Grace’s world crashing down? Or will those secrets end up healing them both?

I’ve really enjoyed the Bluebell Inn Romance series, and this was no exception. I love the small-town setting, and Grace and her siblings are great characters. It was fun to see more of Molly’s and Levi’s stories, too, after reading their linked standalones.

Grace and Wyatt are a good match: both struggling with tragedies from their past and trying to figure out where their futures are going. I loved watching these characters grow and change through the story, and I’d love to read more stories set in this small town.

Denis Hunter is a bestselling author. Autumns Skies is her newest novel.

This is the final book to this series and it is a fantastic conclusion to this series. I have loved reading all three books in the Bluebell Inn series. This book focuses on Grace the youngest Bennett sibling. The siblings have been working together to bring their parents dream to fruition by turning the inn around so that it is profitable and then selling it. Grace has her own dreams of running an outfitter business. She did not want to attend college even though her brother believes that was what was best for her. As she is working to ensure her business is successful, she meets Wyatt at the inn. Wyatt is seeking to heal, but also to face the past where something extremely difficult happened. Before he can continue on with his success as a secret service agent, he has to confront his past. Together, they work to discover how to move past those experiences. I loved how Ms. Hunter tied all three stories together and the romance that is within all three novels. I highly recommend this book! I know you will not be disappointed!

Autumn Skies returns readers to the Bluebell Inn, this time telling the story of youngest sister Grace and Secret Service Agent Wyatt Jennings. Burdened by guilt and nightmares of the past that spill into present day, both Grace and Wyatt struggle move forward in their lives. With characters so real you expect to bump into them on the streets of Bluebell, Autumn Skies is the story of escaping the shackles of the past in order to embrace the hope of the future.

Such a lovely story. Hooked from the beginning and couldn’t stop reading. Definitely a book to curl up with a warm drink and a blanket. Loved the story line. The characters were great. I’m hoping it was just the uncorrected proof I had, but I noticed there were 2 times names were mixed up in the story. Totally didn’t affect things at all. I like how these books are connected in the series but can totally be read out of order without any loss of context. I received a copy of the book from
Netgalley. I was in no way required to write a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

I enjoyed the Blue Bell Inn series so much! I enjoyed the stories about each of the siblings and I enjoyed finishing up the series with Autumn Skies. While I didn't like it quite as much as the first two books in the series it was very enjoyable and I liked how it ended. The characters were likeable and you definitely were rooting for them the whole way through.

The setting of the Blue Bell Inn series and the Inn itself added an extra character to the story. It made you want to plan a trip for a cute little inn like it!

Wyatt is a secret service agent who is put on a short leave to deal with some issues and heal from being shot. He decides to go back to his hometown for some r&r.When he arrives he sees that the home he stayed at with his parents in the summer as child has been turned into an Inn and decides to stay there. Grace and her brother and sister took over the renovations and opened the Inn after the loss of their parents when she was in high school. When Grace meets Wyatt she is speechless from his good looks and his quiet demeanor Little do either of them know that they both have some guilt and healing to work on that they can help one another with.

What a wonderful book! I really enjoyed reading this series, not only were the romances heart-tugging, the familial bond between the siblings added humour and sense of comfort and familiarity.
Autumn Skies follows Grace, the youngest of the Bennett sibling who feels a deep rooted need to help others due to her survival’s guilt and Wyatt Jennings, who has arrived in Bluebell to find closure from an incident that happened years ago. Their paths collide when Wyatt stays at Grace’s family-run inn. As they embark on hiking trips throughout the surrounding mountains together, sparks fly between them. But Wyatt’s life and dreams lie outside of Bluebell while Grace’s are within the town’s border. Is it worth getting involved with each other?
Grace, who had started the series off teenager, is now a younger woman. She’s grown so much and in the novel, we can really see how independent and mature she has becomes. She suffers from guilt, but I loved how she didn’t wallow. Instead, she turned those negative feelings into doing something positive for others.
Wyatt started off quiet and intense type, which really suited what he did for a living and what he was suffering from. As he began healing and opening up, a very sweet and attentive man began shining through. I fall for him right alongside Grace!
From their first scene together, Grace and Wyatt’s chemistry was intense. I loved how Hunter allowed them to have a little awkwardness in the beginning, it felt so genuine. And development of their relationship felt very real as well. They question their trust in each other, face tough situations together, challenge each other, and all the while bring a smile to each other’s faces. Through their shared experiences, they are able to trust each other with revelations they haven’t shared with others before. But it makes sense why they’d do so now.
I especially liked the twist, how Hunter ties their story together. It wasn’t something I saw coming and I thought it was cleverly done.
I enjoyed seeing glimpses of Adam and Molly’s happily married life and witnessing Levi and Mia’s wedding. I liked how the Bluebell Inn subplot wraps up and we see who ends up running the inn.
I’m going to miss the Bennet siblings and Bluebell Inn. These books are perfect for a light read!

I have loved this series by Denise Hunter so much! All three of the stories of the three siblings who started running Bluebell Inn after their parents died have been engaging and so romantic! Each couple ended up so in love that it just melts your heart.
Grace and Wyatt were both characters who were damaged by survivor's guilt. When he shows up at the Inn, his gut feeling is that she is way too young for him. Grace has an adorable blush that tends to show up whenever Wyatt or discussion of him does (especially when he's standing right behind her as she's talking about him). As the two deal with their own problems, they are able to help the other discover how they have been dealing with their own trauma.
Ms. Hunter has done such a great job with this series. I wish I could actually meet the characters and maybe book a stay at Bluebell Inn!

Warm Fuzzies! That is what Autumn Skies by Denise Hunter brought out in me... the warm fuzzies. Oh my goodness this was such a fulfilling book. It had a several great love stories, a twist that could have only been brought about by the good Lord and just that small hometown feel. I could go on and on.

Grace is one of the inn keepers at Bluebell Inn along with her brother and sister. Wyatt is an extended stay guest. Maybe you can guess the general direction of this story. I'm not telling you much more than that. You'll have to find out for yourself. I loved the characters. They were people you would want to know and spend some time with. They were easy to relate to.

The good news? This is the last part of a three part series and it did really well as a stand alone book. The first two books were picked up by Hallmark and are now movies. We can only assume this one will also be a movie. You know what they say. Read the book first!

Autumn Skies, the third book in the Bluebell Inn series, is set at a small, family-owned bed and breakfast in North Carolina. Grace is the youngest of three siblings running the inn. She is working to start her own camping/outfitter business. When Wyatt comes to stay at the inn they immediately click. Wyatt's family lived in the house that is now a B&B years ago and he has deep roots in the town of Bluebell -- and a family tragedy from the past to deal with. As they become friends, hiking and camping, working together to find Wyatt's past, Grace and Wyatt become closer and romance begins. However, he is a Secret Service agent and his work has him stationed far from Bluebell. How will they resolve this conflict?

I wanted to read Autumn Skies because I have read and enjoyed all the Bluebell Inn books. They are southern fiction, set in a picturesque small town, and often deal with the past as well as the present. These are all components I enjoy in novels.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Grace is a likable protagonist. She is smart and independent with a kind heart toward others. Wyatt is more reserved, but as Grace gets to know and like him, the reader does too. The past issue that Wyatt deals with, his mother's murder years ago, is so tragic and I was really pulling for Wyatt to find closure and peace.

Bluebell Inn is almost a character in the book; it is such a warm, vividly depicted place. I love descriptions (and history!) like this:

“'The Bluebell Inn has the distinction of being the town’s very first inn,” Molly said. “It was built in 1905 and featured ten bedrooms. Early on it was even a stagecoach stop. And starting in 1957, it housed the post office. We actually uncovered the old mail slot when we were renovating and found an old love letter—there’s a long story there, but I’ll spare you. 'The inn’s been several things over the years, including a saloon, if you can believe it. In the sixties—the lake’s real heyday—other hotels opened, but the Bluebell Inn remained the place to stay. In 1978 it was bought by Governor Jennings and turned into his family lake home. Then my parents purchased it, and my siblings and I had the pleasure of growing up here. Our parents dreamed of turning it back into an inn during their retirement. But sadly, that wasn’t to be. They passed away unexpectedly four years ago. But my siblings and I took it upon ourselves to fulfill their dream'" (Kindle location 1937).

I highly recommend the Bluebell Inn series. It is a warm, diverting series set in a charming town with likable, sympathetic protagonists. Autumn Skies is a fine addition - and finale - to the series.

Review: Autumn Skies by Denise Hunter 5 stars

I fell in love with Denise Hunter’s writing when I read Lake Season. This is the third book in the Bluebell Inn series and I am excited to read Grace’s story this time. I think you can read this as a stand alone but it’s nice to have some back story of Molly and Levi.

Grace is the youngest of the Bennett siblings. She is helping with running the inn and is also busy as she just started her own business. Wyatt is a secret service agent on leave. Bluebell Inn used to be his family’s summer home. He is back to put his past behind and move on with his life. Grace is willing to help on his journey in finding out the truth. I like that both of them openly discuss their faith and feelings. Well, it may have taken Wyatt some time to open up but when he did I enjoyed their conversations. I didn’t expect the outcome of their search. It shook them both too. It’s an inspiring and moving story. I love the siblings' closeness. They all have to realize and see what is important. I’m glad I am with them on this journey. This is the perfect ending to the Bluebell Inn series.

Thank you to Thomas Nelson for the free copy. All opinions are my own.

A delightful, inspirational, feel-good, pick-me-up, and let-me-escape novel, a story that will wrap you up in all the feels and the beautiful autumn scenery of western North Carolina Blue Ridge mountains.
I have not read the previous two novels in the series, and while I realize it would have enriched my reading experience, it didn't hinder me from enjoying this charming tale of young adults finding their destinies. I have had the pleasure to live in those mountains for several years and the sceneries the author painted with her words were vivid, a picture like, and true to nature.
Grace Bennett is a young woman, only 21 years old, yet she knows what she wants to do with her life, her future well planned ahead of her. Grace seemed to have the need to prove herself, her ability to run her business, and as an adult to her siblings. At first, she seemed a bit immature but she grew on me as the story unfolded.
Secret Service agent Wyatt Jennings is the quiet, serious type. He is at the crossroads with his career, and he believes that facing his childhood nightmare will give him the peace of mind (and sleep) he has been looking for.
The attraction between Grace and Wyatt is adorable and sweet, yet complicated as they live very different kinds of lifestyles. The hiking and camping scenes as Grace and Wyatt get to know each other were charming and entertaining, with a touch of danger giving the tale a little spice. The plot twist that they stumble on - that took me by surprise - bring up deep emotions and severe trauma from their past.
I liked how especially Wyatt was grounded in his faith in God, seeking guidance and trusting in God to give him direction in his life. While the protagonists and their loved ones are assumed to be Christians, and faith is referenced a few times as they ponder about their lives and futures, the story avoids any kind of preaching or directly talking about Christianity.
In this very unpredictable world, I love to escape into the romance novels that in a charmingly sure-fire way, with great anticipation takes my mind to a sort of a happy place where love wins, faith is grounded, families grow, and people find their serendipity, cause there are few things as appealing than two people falling in love, finding their soulmates, their true north. Denise Hunter is a talented storyteller who balances the ingredients of the stories just so that you come to the end of the book with a happy, satisfied sigh.
A captivating and heartening, heartwarming and enjoyable - just all-around pleasing and wholesome tale of life and love

Autumn Skies is the third book in Denise Hunter's Bluebell Inn series. While a knowledge of the characters and backstory is nice, this book will work well as a stand-alone read. It focuses on Grace Bennett, the youngest of three siblings who completed their parents' dream of converting their historical family home into an inn. It is a love story between the fresh, young, outdoors girl and a Secret Service agent who comes to the inn seeking resolution to a horrific, life-changing event from his childhood. Hunter does a great job of writing passion that does not exceed the boundaries of Christian fiction. She deals sensitively with the importance of resolving childhood trauma, and extending oneself forgiveness and the freedom to joyfully pursue life.

Autumn Skies is the third book in Denise Hunter’s Bluebell Inn series. Three siblings, Molly, Levi, and Grace, have carried on with their parents’ dream of restoring the historic Bluebell Inn. The first book in the series highlighted Molly. The second book was centered on Levi. This one is Grace’s story.

Grace, the youngest of the siblings, was in high school when their parents perished in that awful crash. Although young, she always tried to hold her own at the inn, and worked while completing high school. A good student always excelling, Grace had no interest in college. An outdoors person, Grace had an idea for creating her own outfitters rental company. In this story, her company is doing well as she runs it out of the inn. With her brother’s upcoming wedding, and her sister’s desire to open her own inn in Tuscany, Grace is seeking a location in Bluebell for her fledgling company. Striking out completely on her own is exciting and daunting and the thought that she will be the only one still in Bluebell is a little lonely.

A few weeks prior to the wedding and just before the inn is put on the market, Wyatt Jennings stops at the inn to see if they have a room, which they do. He doesn’t share with Grace, who checks him in, what he does or that there was a time when the inn was his family’s summer home. Neither is he sharing that his purpose in Bluebell is to find closure for that horrible happening 14 years ago. As she guides him in the wilderness they form a bond, able to speak freely with each other. In fact, neither has experienced such an easy alliance.

This is a very well written novel with unexpected twists and turns. The characters are richly drawn and their connections are many. The beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains are well depicted, allowing the reader to almost feel fall in the mountains. I did enjoy this book and series and do recommend them!

Yesterday was the release day for Denise Hunter's latest novel, Autumn Skies. The third in her Bluebell Inn series, I couldn't wait to read Grace's story and see how the other siblings were doing. What I didn't expect, but loved!, was the way that Denise brought in past history of the home that had been hinted at in prior books and made it front and center for this one. The hero is a Secret Service officer who is sent off to get his head on straight. To do that he returns home. What he doesn't know, and Grace can't anticipate, is how they're darkest moments and deepest wounds are intersected. The romance is so sweet, but the masterful part of this book is how the hero and heroine have to confront their past to step into the future. Each of the siblings also has to confront what they really want for their futures. A perfect ending. One I savored on each page.

I am really enjoying this series by Denise Hunter. I’ve read Carolina Breeze and Autumn Skies, which are books 2 and 3 in the series, and I’m going to read Lake Season, book 1, soon. These books read great as stand-alone’s and while I hate reading books out of order, these two have made me really want to read Adam and Molly’s story. The setting of this series is such a part of Autumn Skies. I can just picture the Inn and the lake and the surrounding areas. This is another town I could easily move to!

I really enjoyed Grace and Wyatt’s story. Normally, stories where the hero and heroine fall in love too quickly don’t work for me. I am happy to say that this one did. It seemed very believable, especially because both characters addressed it and because of how much time they spent together. I loved that Wyatt was part of the Secret Service. This is a line of work that I haven’t read often and it was very interesting. There was also a twist at the end that I didn’t see coming, but it really added to the story and their relationship. The epilogue was a perfect ending to the series.

Denise Hunter writes well written stories that always keep my attention. I’m looking forward to reading whatever she writes next!
