The Connected Parent is a book that I think all of the parents in this time of parenting needs to read at least once. This books shows parents how to stay connected while keeping their kids safe with online technology. The "our recommendation" and "Key takeaway" sections section were very helpful There are so many useful and eye-opening tips in this book.

This book really spoke to me. As a parent, and as a teacher! I loved the tips and the research they put into this book. If you are a parent and concerned about technology/screen time, this is worth a read!

I'm actually not a parent, but the title really spoke to me when I came across it. From an educator's point view, this is a topic that I am familiar with and something that's always on my mind. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and can say that I've learned quite a bit. For my friends with kids, I'd definitely recommend this book as it dives deep into all of the main challenges of bringing up children in this digital world! I think that technology can be extremely powerful and finding good ways to educate our youth to better engage with the world using technology will be critical in both parenting and educational institutions! If your kids are anything like mine, they love their devices. My 6 year old is addicted to Minecraft and Roblox on her iPad and my 10 Year old also plays Roblox and messages friends on her iPad Touch (that she saved up for herself). If you are like me we share the same concern about the future of devices and especially social media on their mental health.

This book combines many years of study and practical knowledge to deliver information to the parents so they can make the best decisions for their children. It hits on topics from screentime, social life, privacy, social media, anxiety and pressure from friends. It gives you real life examples of the harm of posting without thinking can inflict. I especially liked the focus on internet safety and cyberbullying, a big fear of mine.

I highly recommend this book to parents who are looking to navigate this digital world in a healthy way for their children.

Definitely a much needed book in today's world. I loved how it set expectations very early on what the book was about. The authors defined how they viewed the presence of devices in their lives and their families. This made it very relatable. Sound tips that could be of use to all parents. It was a little too verbose for my tastes. I understand the need for explaining everything but as a busy parent often I do not have the luxury to indulge and read line by line. That said, the highlights section in the back of every chapter was really helpful.
