First time reading a book from this author. Took a little to get into reading. Overall, good book covers a great topic.

In this fresh, approachable look at the Book of Psalms, Anderson focuses on how we might overcome dark days so we can walk in the light. By applying key verses and understanding David's life, Anderson teaches us how the Psalms will inspire us to keep moving forward during our seasons of lament. While primarily rooted in overcoming, this is a must for anyone wanting close-read studies of the Book of Psalms

Another great Bible study by Teresa Swanstrom Anderson. Her deep dive into the historical context, biblical languages and surrounding passages are simple to follow, but also full of depth. She uses a variety of sources, translations and paraphrases that enrich the study. I appreciate her personal touches and the very real applications, but the depth of study as well. It is a rare combination - especially in devotionals and Bible studies for women. Highly recommend this study!

Although I haven’t yet gone through this Bible study day-by-day, I was very impressed by what I read. This seems like a detailed study of these psalms, and I liked the author’s insights for each new Psalm/topic. The author’s writing style seemed personable and as I read the comments and questions, I felt as if I were sitting in a group Bible study. I’m looking forward to going through this entire study very soon. I’d recommend this one for either group or individual study.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

This study found me at a season of struggle and indecision. Inbetween the pages, I was able to find strength, direction and so much more. Will be keeping this study close at hand for refreshing, and look forward to checking out other studies in the series.

Anderson guides her readers to dig deeper and cultivate a deeper relationship with Christ through the study of David's life through Psalms. She makes the Bible very approachable for every person, no matter how much or how little they know about the Bible. She shares various resources, commentaries and apps to help the reader seek answers and more knowledge and understanding. It's as if she is right next to you, guiding you every step of the way. I love how Anderson didn't just focus solely on the Psalms, but also included 1 and 2 Samuel to give the reader a greater picture and understanding of David's life.

This study of Psalms challenges us to learn to walk through our dark seasons to find the light. We grow the most during the in between on our journey to the light.

I highly recommend this study as well as her other two Get Wisdom Studies.

Saying Yes in the Darkness: 7 Weeks int he Book of Psalms is one of three new studies by Teresa Swanstrom Anderson, and you are not going to want to miss a single one! It is absolutely brimming with new insights, helpful charts, thoughtful questions, all of which get you digging deeper into Scripture than before. Not only does Teresa lead you into the Psalms, but she also teaches you how to study and introduces other resources that can help you as you grow. I have done my fair share of Bible studies over the years, and while others have left me disappointed with a shallow outline or overwhelmed by being all story and no scripture, Teresa's studies are a breath of fresh air and exactly what I was looking for! I cannot recommend them enough!

Psalms is one of my favorite books in the Bible and this is a very well written devotional based on Psalms. I received an arc from the publisher and this is my unbiased review.
