Hello

Apologies for the late notice, but I have decided not to review this title. While I am certain it's obvious by now, I wanted to also clear this off NetGalley, so it's not showing as open for either of us.

I look forward to continuing to work with you in 2023 and beyond.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series when I read it years ago. Unfortunately it’s been so long since I read it my reading tastes have changed a bit and I struggle with romantic suspense now. I tried to get into Blacklisted a few times and always ended up DNF

Gah! How much did I love this story!! Presley (greatest name ever) and Shot were so good together! This opposites attract story just worked in every way. A scared, reserved medical examiner hiding from danger and a tough as nails, with a heart of gold MC President should not work; but man did these two defy odds. There was drama and banter and danger and so much passion. Jay Cownover is such a phenomenal story teller! I loved this series and while this was a great way to send it off.

Jay Crownover is an autobuy author. I am not a huge fan of cowboy romance but let me tell you this series is so good. I feel like this author can do no wrong.

This is a charming contemporary romance series by Jay Crownover, featuring the Texas-based Lawton siblings. Presley, half-sister to the Lawton siblings, is wholeheartedly embraced by her new family, but she wants to keep them at arm’s length. When she patches up the leader of Sons of Sorrow Shot Caldwell, she feels increasingly drawn to him. Between Shot and her family, Presley finds herself entrenched in the small Texas town, despite the risk she poses to everyone. This is a romance, so you know how it ends, but it’s an enjoyable ride nonetheless.

This wasn't my favorite book in this series or even by this author. While I usually like the tropes here, there was a little too much that was rushed or not thought through as well as it could have been. Much of the romantic progression was predictable, though Shot's inner thoughts left me cold at times and together they were only semi-believable. The outcome was nice and the drama was pretty big and yet not compelling. Shot was better for me than Pres, and that's kind of a low bar, unfortunately, because I adore a strong heroine and Pres just was not that. So much unrealized potential for this story. 2.5 stars.

I devoured this book! Holy smoke show!
Shot Caldwell is the president of an MC. He’s alpha, so sweet and completely irresistable. Presley Baskin is the newest sibling to the Lawton’s. She’s kickass. These two are opposites but they burn up the pages. This romantic suspense was everything. I can’t wait to see what’s coming back to Loveless!!

I feel like I’ve been waiting FOREVER to finally have my hands on Shot’s book, and after the ending in Unforgiven, that need went dang near rabid. Now first of all, if you’re reading this as a standalone, you’re doing yourself a huge disservice. Read the first two books. Even though each book focuses on a new couple, there’s a continuing story arc that continues through each series and is concluded here. Everything that was set in motion in Justified finally gets brought to a head here.
If you’ve read the first two books, then you’re already familiar with the suspense of the murder of Lawton patriarch. Presley is the half sister that her three siblings had no idea they had. After finding out that her best friend is a psychopath that’s responsible for making her life a living hell and losing her mother, Presley’s quiet existence imploded in a fiery blaze. Her stalker is still out there and wants her dead, and the Sons of Sorrow are in her debt for saving Shot’s life.
After the peeks we get into SoS and Shot Caldwell, I was dying for more of the MC. However, if you’re expecting a biker book, this is not that. The author made it clear that biker romance is something that she struggles with, so this book is in the same tone as the rest of the series. However, Shot is very much a biker and not a cowboy. He’s the epitome of a bad boy. An outlaw that lives his life on his own terms and answers to no one. Presley is the opposite of him in every way, but he can’t seem to stay away from here. Their chemistry is incendiary. These are two characters that always felt like outsiders in their own life, and their bond on that is strong. I loved the way they were there for each other.
There’s quite a bit of suspense happening here with both Shot and Presley’s life in danger by different people. Presley is still trying to figure out having siblings for the first time in her life and a man that’s pursuing her that is the epitome of everything that she doesn’t go for.
While I had hoped for more time and focus on the MC and the characters there, I still enjoyed this one quite a bit. I may have set my expectations on the MC a bit high, but I can’t say I’m disappointed. This still hit the spot quite nicely and was a satisfying conclusion to a series that I’ve been invested in for some time.

Can I give this 10 stars and keep Shot for myself? Because I really want to do that. I was a bit weary going into Blacklisted because while I loved the first book in this series, I hated book two. Kody acts like pubescent child, and unfortunately that did not change in this book. Thankfully Presley and Shot were amazing, and I wish we could have a second book about them, they were that good.

Dr. Presley is laying low right now because of a person she thought was her friend was really trying to take over her life and her life is in danger. When she's asked to help someone who has been shot she reluctantly rushes over to find out the guy she's helping is the local leader of a motorcycle club. Now he owes her a favor and plans to go through with it if only she gave him a reason but soon enough he finds out about her past friend is after her and will do everything he can to protect her.

I don't even remember why I even picked up this book I think I recognized the name and knew I was familiar with the authors name from a previous book and just took a chance. I can say I am not disappointed this book was pretty great. I loved seeing how these two opposite people from different worlds end up together. I mean he was protecting her as she tries to get her old friend to get out in the open and admit her misdeeds but this was pretty great seeing how everything came out in the end. I loved seeing the attraction between Presley and Palmer. Overall great book highly recommend. Once I started this book I honestly was hooked till the very end.

Blacklisted is book 3 in the Loveless, Texas series by Jay Crownover and a great addition to this series. While a standalone reading the prior books gives some insight to the storyline.

Next is Dr. Presley Baskin and Palmer “Shot” Caldwell. Presley a medical examiner who has had the rug pulled out from under her for many reasons is just trying to lead a quiet existence and get to know the Lawson siblings who she just recently found out are her family.

Shot Caldwell, sexy, handsome, bad boy MC president gets shot and Presley’s half sister Kody asks her to help patch him up...

What transpires next is...suspense, stalking, opposites attract, secrets, betrayal and so much more..

I have enjoyed the Loveless, Texas series, and Blacklisted just added to that enjoyment. Blacklisted gave off so many Sons of Anarchy vibes that there were a few character descriptions that turned me off. Overall, the overall arc of the series was mysterious, sexy, and intriguing.

In this latest book in the Loveless, Texas series, we finally have the story of Shot Caldwell, a character that has piqued my interest since it was introduced in the previous books.

The story of Presley and Shot is that of opposites attract, because the two are completely different and yet the author managed to pass on to readers why even though they were so different they completed each other and formed a good team and had great chemistry.

The story is good, but the problem for me was the detail in some scenes that made me lose my attention in reading and some parts that were dragged. Overall it is a good book and it came to finish this series well.

Blacklisted continues with Presley’s story and her entanglement with the local biker club following the emergency surgery she undertook to save Shot from what surely would have been certain death.

On paper Presley and Palmer (Shot) are complete opposites and shouldn’t gravitate to each other; there is something between them which is beyond their control. Both of their lives are oddly drawn together and the chemistry between them proves irresistible.

There is a continuation of the thriller elements involving Presley’s former friend alongside the integration of Presley into the Lawton family. However, the main aspect of the narrative is the way in which the developing relationship between Presley and Palmer which allows them to be themselves with each other. Presley and Palmer balance each other in a way that neither has ever experienced before, bringing out a side in each other though unexpected brings a sense of symmetry to their lives.

I adored the way in which Presley and Palmer accepted each other whole heartedly without the need to alter any aspect of each others lives. Although I do not think I, personally, could cope with not knowing the details of Palmers biker interactions, I am too curious by nature. I commend Presley for accepting the man as is without questions or compromise.

Blacklisted is a stunning series finale brining all of the outstanding threads together while seamlessly melding the characters into one.

Blacklisted (Loveless, Texas #3). By Jay Crownover. 2020. Forever. (ARC eBook).

Sons of Sorrow MC President, Palmer ‘Shot’ Caldwell, owes medical examiner Presley Baskin after she removes a bullet out of him. Not liking having to owe someone, he intends to return the favor and be free and clear of Presley as soon as possible. But soon he finds himself willingly spending time with the leggy redhead and assigning his brothers to provide Presley with protection detail while he works with Sheriff Case Lawton and Texas Ranger Hill Gamble in order to eliminate a threat that has been stalking Presley. How they live their lives is night and day, but how they love brings them closer to each other than they have ever experienced before with any other person.

Having read and loved book 2, Unforgiven, I was definitely looking forward to Blacklisted. And it did not disappoint. The Loveless, Texas series is well written with plenty of family, action, and steamy and sweet romance.

It feels like so long ago that I read the rest of this series that when I initially picked this book up i couldn't remember who Presley and Shot were. And then i read the prologue and it all came flooding back because this series has been awesome.

From the first book I've been invested in each and every sibling and getting the surprise twist of Presley and all of her drama just added so much. From her first introduction I have loved her. She was different in a way that was truly individual. Her life experiences had made her this sweet, smart, caring, strong woman.

I really had my reservations about Shot for her. First there was the fact he was so close to Kody and I wasn't sure how I felt about that. Then there was the whole bikie thing that put him at odds with the other half of her family. But damn did he make me forget every doubt I had with the way he was so all about Presley.

Shot and Presley learning how to be together was a thing of beauty. Every part of their story had me flipping the pages wondering what was going to happen next. I wanted them both to work because they were both so deserving of being loved.

This whole book was awesome. The suspense, the romance, the chemistry, the characters and everything in between. I couldn't put it down and I am so sad the series is over because I have fallen so hard for the whole family.

Blacklisted is the third book in the Loveless, Texas series and I believe it is the final book. This one features Presley and Shot. It also wraps up the story arc from the first and second books. The story picks up right after the events from the second book and put Shot and Presley in each others path.

I really loved the first two books in the series. And while I liked this one, it just wasn't my favorite out of the three in the series. One of the reasons was the mystery. The ending of it was wrapped up too quickly for me. I know this isn't really a "romantic suspense" but I wanted more out of the hunt for Presley's stalker. I definitely liked the romance between Presley and Shot. I always love an alpha MC biker who is able to find his softer side. These two are such opposites, but they just fit so well together. Their worlds are so different that I do wonder how that reconciles itself down the road. So I didn't have the warm HEA feelings at the end of this book that I usually get. Despite that, it was a good wrap up for the series. It's always sad to say goodbye to characters. I do look forward to seeing what is next for this author.

Dr. Presley Baskin has come into town looking to get away from the drummed-up trouble that someone has brought against her. Instead of fighting, she chose to go to her half-siblings that she found out about. What she is finding out though is someone is in need of a doctor. Shot the motorcycle President has been shot and they need someone to fix him he cannot go to the hospital. When she finally wraps everything around her head she steps in and does the best she can and well saves his life.
Shot does like to owe anyone so he tells her that she has a favor coming. what really happens is that he gives her the strength to fight the people or person who brought up the charges and fake allegations against her. What Shot wants is really a shot with Presley even though their worlds are opposites maybe they each can help the other one. What you have though is a good story to go along with the other books in the series. The characters are all good again and the story will keep you engaged from the beginning to the end. A very good book.

Dr. Presley Baskin has always lived a quiet, calm life. Unfortunately, nothing about her life in Loveless, Texas—especially not the wild, rowdy, and impossibly close-knit Lawton family who've claimed her—is quiet or calm. Which is how loner Presley finds herself roped into patching up local bad boy Shot Caldwell against her better judgment.
Presley's life pretty much blew up in her face after finding out about half siblings, her mother dying, her ex-best friend going psycho and now being dragged into the world of the Sons of Sorrow MC after helping their president, Shot.
Shot is the bad boy we all are warned about but he has a heart of gold and you still would want to be with him.
I received this from Forever and NetGalley for an honest review.

Slow, delicious burn….

This was Shot and Presley’s story and it was everything I wanted in their story! A slow, delicious burn, for sure. A tantalizing look at MC life. Great characters, intriguing suspense, a steamy romance. Yeah, this was a great, great story… If you’ve read this series than Presley and Shot aren’t new to you. While their romance can be read as a standalone the challenges they faced, especially with family, would be even clearer if you knew all the background. Believe me, you don’t want to miss one little nuance…

Presley was independent, dangerously so at times, once again on the sidelines as she tried to figure out her place in her new family. Shot proved to be a great bridge to family, as well as a lethal protector and (surprisingly) sweet companion… Yeah, that knocked Presley’s (and mine) socks off as his stoic exterior melted under Presley’s calm, quiet presence. He craved her, just as she craved him, and their descent into love, spurred by a favour or two, was full of spicy dialogue and deadly suspense…

I don’t want this series to end. Ever. The author must continue on, finding stories for everyone in these stories. Top, maybe? But really, author’s choice… Please….
