Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Even thought this book is targeted to teens/young adults, I think older adults would glean great information too. This would be a resource for youth leaders, college mentors, and parents. Each chapter has a focused topic, is supported by scripture, and great summary/action steps at the end of the chapters. The author relates some real world topics, I had to laugh at some of them being an older reader. The topics are wide ranging about how to be a light for Christ in a dark world. It is a conversation in the midst of our world right now and this would be a great study and resource. Some topics are specially suited to the younger generation about peer pressure/social media, but others are for everyone like- overcoming idolatry, religion vs. relationship, obedience, fear/faith. worry/trust, joy/happiness. I think some adults that help guide or facilitate discussions should ensure that the students do not walk away with a prosperity preaching philosophy. I think one main concept missing was suffering. Some of the chapters read that if you just believe enough and have a deep relationship with Him- God won't let anything hurt you. The positives of this book overshadow this one element.
