I DNF this book after 20%. I unfortunately couldn't relate to Scarlett on any level. She's spoilt and useless and instead of finding a second job to survive in London and get some food into her belly she's staying at work late so she can take other people's leftovers out of the fridge. She wants to go to fashion school but sounds like she's only ever made 1 dress in her life.
I think the comparisons to things like The Devil Wears Prada doesn't help.
Usually I like these kind of books but this one doesn't seem to be worth sticking it out in my opinion.
Thanks to Netgalley.com and Simon & Schuster Australia for this eARC copy.

This book was quite different to what I expected. I thought it would be a lighthearted and witty comedy, but it fell flat in my opinion.

It was written well, but I guess it just wasn't my type of book.

I started “The High Moments” expecting light humour but it just wasn’t what I was expecting and not really to my taste, there were moments throughout the book that made me chuckle and I liked the way it was written in the first person diary like. But unfortunately this book just wasn’t for me.

Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Australia for gifting me an ARC.

I had to DNF this book. Sara-Ella Ozbek is a talented writer and her writing is griping. There is just a lot of talk about waist and hip measurements and women not being small enough. Which are no doubt conversations that happen in the modelling world. I just could not sit with it for my personal mental health and body image. I will, however, look forward to the next book Ozbek puts out.

I really enjoyed this dark and catty look into the world of modelling agencies and the fashion industry although this book should definitively come with a warning that there is a lot of sex and drug use throughout! If I’m honest the characters really aren’t that likeable but regardless I still really felt for Scarlett and her desperate need to be somebody (let’s face it we can all relate to that in some way!) and the writing style was great and had me easily reading well into the night!

A big thank you to Netgalley & Simon and Schuster Australia for this digital copy to review!!
