I have read a lot of Susan Stoker's books and I really enjoyed them but for some reason Trusting Skylar fell flat for me. I found myself skimming the pages because I just couldn't get engaged enough. I wanted to, just couldn't. I think the story has solid bones but was too rushed? Skylar was definitely a "silver side" kinda girl and that's ok. Sometimes we need a female that isn't always so jaded by the world. Bull was...I don't. I just couldn't get a read on him.

I think if there was more to the story and it wasn't so rushed, there was more flesh and filler this could be a five star read. For me, it was a 3.5, but that won't stop me from checking out the rest of the series as it comes out. I've never read a series where I loved every book so there's always a chance.

Holy Freaking Smoke! What a start to a new series!! We had a glimpse of these new characters at the end of the Mountain Mercenary series and we knew that a fab new offering was on our way.

Bull and the Silverstone Towing guys got a bit of a rough deal. They did the right thing, with an added bonus, but the head honchos were not amused and wanted to punish them. But before they made a decision they were offered a more suitable offer. With a quiet inheritance used as seed money, they started up a Towing company. They've grown their reputation and they look after their staff well. But all is not as it seems - there is a little known part of the complex only the owners enter - with good reason!

Skylar should be annoying but as usual, she is written with soul. Her naivety can be refreshing but also a bit of a pain, LOL. Her career as a teacher of small kids means she is all about helping others but her gift for seeing the good in people and helping anyone in need may just get her into hot water!

Bull has seen the bad side of the world more times than he cares to admit. But when he fills in on a simple towing job, he meets the wonderously sweet but sexy Skylar. He teaches her a few tricks to keep safe but soon enough the sparks between them take off!

Enter the more serious and darker storyline. I was truly on the edge of my seat and I was rooting for the good guys! I kind of knew the way the story was going to go, there were no punches pulled I'll say!

A superb storyline, great characters, and I really enjoyed the crew's banter and how they treated their staff - I'd work for them in a heartbeat.

I cannot wait for the next book!

Trust Susan Stoker to always bring the heat and action with her sexy Alphas and the bad-ass chicks that love them. This book is the first in a new series and I cannot wait to see where Susan takes this series. If you're a lover of some action with your romance you cannot go wrong with any of Susan's books.

This was my first Susan Stoker book and I have to say it was amazing. I loved the dangle of danger in the first half of the book while Bull and Skylar as getting to know each other, the tense anticipation of what her reaction is going to be when she learns Bulls undercover job. Then I was on the edge of my seat trying to mentally signal Bull and the others to let him know he shouldn’t go away and Skylar needs him. It was beautifully written.
The love story was beautiful and loved how Skylars innocence perfectly pairs to the darkness around Bull.

I think I need to go explore the back catalogue of this amazing sexy alpha men.

I love Susan Stoker and her super-protective men. I wasn't sure how I would feel about "assassins", but the men of Silverstone were anything but. A little heavy handed with the message, but great story and I'm ready for the next one.

I was so happy to start a new Susan Stoker Series because I've read everything she writes! This series is going to be just as good as her others. Trusting Skylar is the first book in the Silverstone Series. Skylar and Carson have tons of chemistry. Once you read the book you will understand the word, "Trusting," Skylar and Carson each make the world a better place but in different ways. I can't wait to see how this couple continues to grow and the other members of the team find their perfect matches.

This is the first book in the new series by Susan Stoker.
This is a series about four elite Delta Force members whose team was about to be split up after a bad mission.
They were offered another option and ended up leaving the Army and creating Silverstone.
Silverstone was a business that was more than a towing service. They were a black ops team working for the FBI.
Man, this series is going to be awesome.
The first book we get is Carson/Bull and kindergarten teacher, Skylar's story.
The book was action-packed. bull felt he was too jaded and his job was too awful to be good enough for Skyler who was sweet and sunshine.
When Skyler is in trouble there is only one man who can keep her safe. Will bull be able to save Skyler and win her heart all before the end of the book?
I so can't wait for the second book in the series. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Carson, 'Bull', to his friends leads a double life. He has a towtruck company with his 3 ex Delta Force friends. They also go undercover eliminating people who are bad:people traffickers, terrorist leaders etc.
Skylar is a Kindergarten teacher, gentle and kind.
When they meet, the attraction is instant.
But will Skylar accept Bull's other life?

Bull and his best friends own Silverstone Towing, a cover for what they really do. When he answers a call to help a stranded motorist, he’s immediately drawn to Skye. She’s beautiful but naive and doesn’t understand the dangers lurking in plain sight.

Kindergarten teacher Skye always tries to see the good in people, even the grouchy and rude Bull. She feels a pull to him and decides to let her guard down. He soon has her getting tangled up with his life and friends. But will the bubble burst once she finds out what he really does for a living?

This is a great start to a new series! Looking forward to reading the rest of the crew!

Thank you Netgalley and Montlake for the opportunity to read a copy.

I love the premise of this series and really enjoyed this first book. Bull and Skylar were great together. I didnt predict the suspense aspect which was new for me (and a good thing)! I also liked that the main characters are in their thirties. I’m excited to read book 2!

I loved the characters. And immediately felt for Bull and his team as they are reprimanded for protecting their country. There’s a dark side to this cute love story. I love how protective Bull is of Skylar and how all he wants to do is keep her safe and preserve her innocence. This is the first book in a series I am going to have to watch out for.

Thank you to Montlake for this advanced copy.

Trusting Skylar is the first in a new romantic suspense series from the fantastic Susan Stoker. In this installment we are introduced to the men of Silverstone and how they came to be. We meet Carson “Bull” Rhodes and the woman who tames and inflames him kindergarten teacher Skylar Reid. Skylar is the reason that Bull does what he does even before he met her. Now that he has he is smitten. I read this in one sitting and am so looking forward to seeing who the other guys find.

Buck’s Delta Force unit leaves the military and starts to work in another government capacity in secret. They also run a towing company which allows them to support their community. Buck is called when Skylar’s car breaks down. He has almost given up on finding a woman who will accept him but is instantly drawn to her. Skylar is a strong, self-supporting woman who can’t help but fall for his kindness and protective instincts. When her self-sacrificing puts her in danger, Buck and his team will leave no stones unturned to bring her safely home. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I am a huge fan of this author and this new series has really started off with a bang! It never gets tiring as Ms. Stoker always manages to give us brave and protective new heroes, kick butt heroines and amazing new stories. I love Bull (Carson) and the other guys and their whole dynamic. All are such likable people. Skylar and Bull are perfect together. It took meeting someone like her to make Bull stop and see what he was missing and wanted in his life, someone special to share the time he wasn't working with. And meeting Skylar, the attraction and need to know her was immediate. Great story, fantastic characters and the way it is all put together. The bonus is all his buddies, his family, love her too! I love this book!!

They both find themselves attracted . They soon start dating but Bull isn't sure if he can trust Skylar to stick with him . Bull has a big secret about what he and his buddies do behind the towing company . When Bull finally tells Skylar she sends him away . Skylar is taken before she can talk to him . Great Beginning!! This is the first book in Ms. Stoker’s newest series Silverstone Towing and it was GREAT!! I loved getting to know Carson “Bull” Rhodes and Skylar. The relationship between these two had my heart betting double time. It was loving and sexy. Bull’s protectiveness was swoon worthy and Skylar’s sunny outlook on the world was refreshing in a world filled with chaos right now. Also, the suspense kept me on my toes and actually surprised me with the little twist toward the end. I like when a story keeps me on my toes and this was perfect.

This is book 1 in the Silverstone series but this team was mentioned briefly in the last book in the Mountain Mercenaries series. Carson “Bull” Rhodes is a former special forces military man who doesn't really date since he and his friend's left the military. He and his friend's opened Silverstone Towing and while it is a legitimate business, they use it as a front for what they do on the side. but it also helps to ground him when he is not off being a paid killer. Skylar Reid is a kindergarten teacher who calls for a tow after being stranded on the side of the road. The attraction between them is instant but Bull doesn't think that he should tarnish Skylar. She is too innocent, too sweet for a man like him. And once she finds out what he truly does, she doesn't know if she can handle it. But when she faces something that is beyond her comprehension, she finally starts to understand. And knows that people like him are necessary. And prays that Bull can find her and save her in time.

I absolutely loved this book! This is the perfect way to start a series! Bull has so many hangups about what he does but he does it knowing that it is truly needed in this world. And reading about how it makes him feel just made me love him even more than I already did. He and his "brothers" have hearts of gold and the drive to do the things that keep people safe. Regardless of how that affects them. Skylar definitely comes across as naive about the things that happen in real life. But she has this spine of steel. And when it comes down to protecting someone that needs it, she might be afraid but she still does what needs to be done. They compliment each other perfectly! I loved every part of this book and I cannot wait to see where this series takes us!!

A new series by Susan Stoker and I couldn’t be more excited! Four Delta Special Forces guys, who leave the military and open a towing company in Indiana are the focus of this new series, Silverstone Towing. As with all of Ms. Stoker’s male characters, these guys are hardcore alphas, and of course still dealing with bad guys. Carson (Bull) is the focus of this first story and it was very romantic and entertaining. Skylar is a kindergarten teacher who is surprisingly sweet and a little naive, and Bull falls for her hard. The courtship and romance were sweet to read, and the conflict was believable. I am very happy for a new series from the author, and although i still love her previous ones, this is a welcome new addition.

A new series from Susan Stoker and I am all for it. I love the book so much that I read it in one seating, it set its hooks on me and I couldn't put it down.

Some might say that Carson is over protective but that is exactly the kind of Hero that I love and Susan Stoker writes the best kind of OTT Alpha Heroes. I also like Skylar, she is one of the sweetest if not a tad too trusting and innocent heroines that Susan Stoker has written. The scene where these 2 met was one of my favourite scenes. Not only do I love the hot sizzling chemistry between Carson and Skylar, I am loving the interactions of the secondary characters too. Susan Stoker never fails to give her readers such wonderful world building. Sometimes it makes you feel that you want to live in her book and never want to leave.

Thank you to NetGalley for this advance copy, the thoughts above are all of my own.

I had a hard time getting into this story; insta love just isn't my preference. I don't mind it in some books, depending on how it's written, but in this case, everything is just too perfect. During their first scene together, Bull and Skylar are already excited for her to meet his friends. I wanted to tell them to slow down, you just met each other! I had, coincidentally, just finished my first Susan Stoker book ever, prior to starting this one. That one, I thought, was absolutely amazing, so maybe my expectations were a bit high.

While it wasn't a hit for me, anyone who loves a sweet romance with few, if any, barriers or tension between the main couple, will surely enjoy this story.

My thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for the opportunity to read and review Trusting Skylar by Susan Stoker.
