The suspense stories written by author Irene Hannon are some of my favorites. Has just the right amount of mystery to keep the reader involved without it being too scary.

I just finished reading Point of Danger by Irene Hannon and have a new author to add to my favorites list. Her idea of having her protagonist be a controversial radio show host worked great for keeping up the suspense, especially when threats to her life increase. Her love interest is so appealing, the kind of guy you wish existed in real life. I love that she didn’t use the same words repetitively when dealing with the character’s wounds or wonderings about each other. It kept the story fresh. The story was hard to put down and left a satisfying sense at the end. I will be reading more from this author. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. My opinions are my own.

I absolutely could NOT put this book down! I have always loved Irene Hannon's writing, but I thoroughly enjoyed Point of Danger. This book packs so much into one book, an action-packed plot, relatable and deep characters whom also have great backstories, not to mention a great deal of plot twists, danger, and mysterious situations. I highly doubt any reader could be bored by Point of Danger! Anytime a book begins with a bomb threat, I think it is fair to say that there is going to be a significant amount suspense and intrigue involved!
Point of Danger is an appropriate title for such a fast-paced, investigative, heart-pounding tale focused on Eve Reilly and the unsettling incidents that come into her life. Eve Reilly has a stiff backbone developed from her many years as a radio talk show host. She will not back down on what she believes is right and will speak the truth, even when many oppose her. Eve has had her fair share of upset and disgruntled listeners, but a suspicious and ticking package on her doorstep is not what she expects on a daily basis. After turning to the police and during the ensuing investigation, Eve realizes just how large a threat she is facing.
Brent Lange wasn't expecting to have a highly public and curiously mysterious bomb threat as his first case as a police detective. Brent has been in law enforcement for many years, so he can see the clear evidence of the escalating threats and danger of which Eve is the focus. Thrown together by dangerous circumstances, Eve and Brent must discover who is behind the threats on Eve before it is too late. Can they prevent a major disaster? Will Eve be able to continue her radio show? Will Brent be able to protect Eve? Can he protect his own heart from falling for her? Will they both be able to survive the danger? Read Point of Danger to find out!
I definitely thoroughly enjoyed and loved this book! The characters of Brent and Eve were very relatable, deep, broken, hopeful, yet full of great characteristics that demonstrated faith, perseverance, strength, and excellent values. Point of Danger was packed full of plot twists, dangerous and deadly situations, as well as tests to character, faith, and romance. I hope you have the chance to enjoy this excellent book!

I've read and thoroughly enjoyed almost all of Irene Hannon's previous romantic suspense titles and quite a number of her romance novels. <b>Point of Danger</b> is one of those reads that I can't say I didn't like but I can't say I enjoyed it either. I felt the primary character, Eve Reilly was very rigid in her beliefs as well as being incredibly naive. I didn't like her, but then I've read numerous stories where I didn't like the main characters so I can't even say that was the problem here. I've never thought of myself as a judgmental person, but I simply didn't like Eve because of her political views and the fact that she judged others based on her rigid conservative views cloaked in her definition of patriotism and what the "founding fathers intended for this nation." It took me a few days to realize why this book didn't resonate with me and it shocked me. After I got over the shock, I was then appalled to think that I could be so petty and judgmental about a fictional character, but there you have it. Perhaps it's simply due to the rampant animosity raging during this election cycle, I can't really say. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to pick this book up again in a few months and read it with clearer vision and less animosity towards any of the characters.

Eve Reilly is a cut to the chase, say what you mean, radio personality. Brent Lange is a new detective who is more in touch with the nuisances of people than his own heart. Eve is just a talk show host with overbearing sisters how dangerous can life be? Brent is joining the detective ranks after ten years on patrol his job is full of the unknown. The Point of Danger brings them together as their high risk jobs collide. Will they be able to go back to “normal” life once the threats are over or will the path God’s place them on take them another direction?
I enjoyed this story though the conclusion felt a little weak. While I was surprised by a turn the story took it almost felt like the twist was thrown in to give the last part of the book a little more umph. I like Irene Hannon’s writing style. She pulls me in to her mysteries. While I was disappointed in the wrap up on this one I look forward to the next book in the series.
Thank you Revell and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book. All opinions are my own.

I love Irene Hannon's books whether they be suspense, romantic suspense, or whatever. She writes a well constructed book using characters with "meat". You will be wishing you were getting to the end faster but then when you get to the end you'll wish it wasn't over. Great book to snuggle up in a blanket and just read! Enjoy! 📚

I have always enjoyed Irene Hannon's romantic suspense novels and Point of Danger is another one I thought was a good mystery and page turner with an attraction between the two main characters. When conservative radio talk show personality Eve Reilly finds a ticking box with a wire on her front porch and she meets Detective Brent Lange, she feels a connection but Brent is not interested in anything but finding out who might want to scare her or do harm. There are a few more events that ratchet up the tension making it look like someone is trying to stop her radio voice. As we read the book, it appears that there are several different people who do not like her and could be responsible for the events that appear to be wishing her harm. Eve doesn't want her voice silenced and tries to keep her stand. This makes Brent's job harder. As messages continue to try scare Eve, on the other hand, she makes efforts to befriend Brent and he rethinks his stand to not date. Things come to a head when Eve is the keynote speaker for a political event and on a chance tip, it is discovered her life is in danger. Without giving anything away, I will say that I was partially very surprised in what is going on to cause the distress in Eve's life. Great suspense, some romance, and faith sprinkled in the story. Eve has two sisters who are concerned for her safety and pop in and out of the scene and I am hoping to see their stories in the future.

In her latest release, Ms. Hannon begins her next new series with a thrilling story. After reading the book description, I immediately wanted to read this book and it did not disappoint. This book focuses on Eve Reilly, a radio talk show host. Eve begins receiving threats at the beginning of the book. Due to her usual potential to have problems from viewers who differ in opinion, Eve is used to scrutiny. However, she finds herself in a completely different world with what is going on this time. She meets Brent due to these threats as he is one of the detectives on her case. Together they try to discover who is after her. This first book in the series was exciting and suspenseful like all of Ms. Hannon’s other romantic suspense books. I highly recommend this book! You will not be disappointed! I look forward to reading the next book in this series!

I was asked to review Point of Danger by Irene Hannon by NetGalley. Irene is a wonderful author who has been around for awhile and I have really enjoyed her books. This one was fantastic too. Lots of action, romance, danger and excitement. The only problem I had was the flow between who was talking or what was going on. After about 1/3 of the way through I was able to remember to change scene or who was talking in the middle of a page but it took awhile. I kept having to go back and figure out the different characters and who we were reading about.
The book flowed nicely and I was able to read it in two evenings although I was up late on one of them.
I especially liked the interaction between the main characters and the sisters. Irene shows us that no matter what happens in our lives we can move ahead and heal from the past.
This book also was relevant to what is going on in the world today and was interesting how you got to see both sides of an issue.
I would totally recommend this book to anyone that likes danger, intrigue, mystery and romance. You won't be disappointment.

I love mysteries that have a surprise ending without pulling in something or someone out of left field. In Point of Danger Irene Hannon provides just that. That in itself is worth a five star rating in my book, but Hannon gives us so much more. She sets the story in a very contemporary social situation, the call for freedom of speech as long as it agrees with the listener's world view. In this story this plays out with talk radio listeners and with the loosely organized Antifa organization. She gives us characters who surrender their safety to speak God's truth and to uncover truth in tense situations. She writes believable, natural sounding dialogue that keeps the story rolling. Mystery and suspense fans are in for a real treat.

My first mistake was assuming that "christian" didn't mean republican propaganda talking points. Point of Danger was suppose to be a thriller but that's not really what we get here. We get a clunky romance where Eve seems like a relentless pursuer that borderlines on manipulative. The way "ANTIFA" is some big bad villain feels almost comical if you actually pay attention to current events and have any sort of moral compass. At the end of the day this is a book for white woman who want to feel like a victim in a world in which they already have great power and privilege.

Would give 0 stars if I could.

A well-paced Christian romantic suspense with likable characters, POINT OF DANGER is the first in a new series by the incomparable Irene Hannon. Eve Reilly is a talk show host who is being threatened, presumably because of her outspoken conservative views. Detective Brent Lange is the one assigned to find out who is threatening her and to protect her. The emphasis in this book was mostly romance but there was enough suspense to keep me totally engaged in Eve’s story. Eve was so gutsy that I couldn’t help but like her! She absolutely refused to back down even when the danger got closer and more personal. She shares her conservative Christian views with Brent, a skeptical and good-looking detective who was burned by love before and who doesn’t trust easily. There were some real twists in the story and I did not figure out the villain until just before the author’s big reveal. The way the author unraveled the identity of the bad guy slowly was very enticing. The threat to Eve was real and the definite Christian undertone of the story was, too. I highly recommend this book to those looking for a clean romantic suspense tale that is intriguing and absorbing!

I must start by saying that when I requested this book I only saw the Mystery/Thriller tag, not the Christian tag, which may be why I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I hoped I would. I also believe this book is more of a romance novel with a thriller storyline intertwined. While I think it was a good book and it kept me engaged, there was a bit too much romance and not enough thriller for my liking. I think if I went into the story knowing this I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

The story was told from multiple perspectives which I am always a fan of! I loved the inclusion of Eve’s sisters and was excited to find out the next two series in the book follow their storyline. The author did a good job of keeping me guessing, towards the end of the book I found myself not being able to change the pages of my e-reader fast enough, which is always a good sign. I picked a few of the twists but not all. Although, I’m not sure I enjoyed the final twist, to me it seemed a little far fetched.

My main problem with this book was the way in which women were portrayed. I had to take breaks after reading certain passages because they made me so angry. This book seemed to have a heavy focus on a woman’s appearance and ‘being a good wife’. I really wanted to love Eve Reilly, a strong female lead, but my personal beliefs were often at odds with hers, which made this difficult. For example, I really didn’t like how abortion was portrayed in this book through her characters perspective.

I didn’t enjoy the layout of this novel and how it switched between characters with no warning and I often found myself having to reread passages to figure out where it switched. Because this was an ARC epub file, I’m hoping this is just a formatting error and will be fixed in the final copy.

That said I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a romance-suspense novel and I will definitely give the second book in the series a read when it comes out!

Overall, I enjoyed the concept of this novel. It was captivating in my opinion. My only issue was the switching between point of views. It switched so much without any indication whose pov it was that it was really confusing. I understand the copy I read was an e-arc so I am hoping that the final copy has changed pertaining to the point of view.

A romantic/ suspense/ thriller with a well plotted story line and great character development. The main character is the radio host of an opinion broadcast where her listeners do not always appreciate her views. When one listener's disagreement turns ugly, the police are called in to investigate.

The main part of the story is the interaction between the characters and the community they live in. This is the first in a three part series about three sisters, so it is actually a stand alone too. Irene Hannon has done an excellent job of catching our interest and keeping it through the last chapter when the villian is caught and the happily ever after can begin.

This was a good book, while I didn’t love it. (Too much romance for me and not enough thriller) while it wasn’t my cup of tea it was still a well written story.

Point of Danger is an outstanding book! Radio personality Eve is targeted for her conservative and very outspoken beliefs. After a possible bomb threat, detective Brent is assigned to her case. As the case proceeds, Brent is attracted to Eve’s vivacious and witty personality. The problem is he’s sworn off relationships. With the progression of threats, they are constantly together. If only they could find the perpetrator. This book had me guessing to the end. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes romantic suspense.

SCINTILLATING!

Multi-Award Winner Author Irene Hannon is providing readers with a new series (Triple Threat) and Book 1, POINT OF DANGER is SCINTILLATING! Be ready for edge of your seat drama from start to finish! When a suspicious package arrives on her doorstep and she hears a ticking sound, she immediately notifies the authorities.

Police Detective Brent Lange is assigned to the case. He takes this case very seriously and quickly realizes that the predator is escalating his/her harassment. Brent also is impressed with how Eve handles herself even in the midst of all her trials. Too bad he has sworn off relationships. Eve is drawn to him as well. She sees that he makes her case a priority and quickly realizes that he would sacrifice his life for her.

As the mayhem continues to mount, it becomes very clear that this terrorizer wants nothing short of Eve’s death. Yet, Brent has a gut feeling they are missing a big piece of the puzzle. Hannon’s surprise climax clearly demonstrates why her writing continues to garner so much attention and win so many awards!

Firstly thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ebook in exchange for review.
I'm sorry it is not more positive.
I didn't realise this was Christian fiction when requesting it so some blame lies on me. As I am non religious, I am apprehensive about Christian (or any religion)books.
But for me, the low rating came from the really degrading way women were spoken about it this book, yes there was a female lead who wanted to speak her mind but the language alot of the time focused on her appearance which made the female lead redundant.
The romance was heavily focused on which I was surprised as I don't feel it was alluded to in the synopsis.
The anti abortion message in one section of this book is absolutely harmful. I did have some concerns when "conservative" views were mentioned as I would consider myself extremely liberal but planting an anti abortion message was poor.
I felt the writing was superficial at times, we were told about a lot the character's views and not shown.
I also think it's a terrible shame that the author chose a female focused lead, but still continued to write and focus on appearances and anti reproductive rights.
Really this book was not for me.
I did think the synopsis was very intriguing. I liked that it featured a radio host as the main character.
I liked the premise.
I wish the author all the best in their career.
