Read this to my homeschool class, and the girls loved it. It gave them the reminder that the grown ups need to follow the same rules as at home, be kind to yourself and to others, and treat others how you want to be treated.

First off this book is too long. A pale girl goes to school and learns they have one rule: take care of yourself and others. She tries to use the rule at home and it works but not as well. She gets to participate in Take your child to work day and her mom has a conflict. This is a story narrated by the little girl, and just like most young kids stories, it goes on and on, and on. Please leave this set and spend your library money on something better.

Louise, who likes to be called Lou, lives with her Mom, Dad, big brother and little sister. She loves to make lists to keep her life organized and on point. She adores her new school and her teacher who is very nice ( and wise ). Her teacher unveils the only rule that is relevant to the class, yes only one:

"Take care of yourself and each other."

Lou can't believe there is only one because at home she has so many rules to follow like: share with your little sister, don't bother your brother, shut the refrigerator, bedtime is quiet time and get ready for school when Mom says. How could there only be one for school?

One day Lou gets to go to work with her Mom when it is take your child to work day. While there she witnesses some tense issues between her Mom and another co-worker. Lou thinks that her simple school rule will make a huge difference if implemented at Mom's office. She shares the rule with her Mom when they arrive home. Will her Mom take her daughter's advice and will the rule, if used, make things at the office run more smoothly and the atmosphere be more happy for all the workers?

The illustrations are wonderful and bring the text to life. The book's theme is about self-care and caring for others. These are very valuable life lessons to learn. I love the book and highly recommend it.

This storybook is just amazing! So amazing!
There's is this concept of self care and caring as the main theme. But what I appreciate the most in this book is the concept of adults learning from children and actually applying it at home and at work. Well done I would say!

The art is just amazing! Pencil sketch and water colour combination done pretty well. I really appreciate the artist behind this storybook.

The storytelling is attractive and appealing. It may be taken as a self-help kind of story telling.

As for the kids, it gives a fair idea about schools and working environment of the parents.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I plan to buy the physical copy to use this book in storytelling classes and workshops.

Amazing book indeed.

Thank you #NetGalley for this ARC.

I enjoyed the idea of this book but something about the way it was presented made it dull to read. The girl has one rule at school, to take care of yourself and others. The girl goes to work with mom and see some issues that might be helped with her school rule.

Take Care follows the story of how Lou learns a new rule at school and then applies it to her life at home. I don't want to spoil the entire rule- but it is really impactful. It makes life so much easier and happier if one just follows this rule.

Read this book with an elementary aged child and in your life and use it as a jumping off point for great conversations. The school in the book has one rule with two parts. You could talk about the other rules that are mentioned in the book and discuss how that fits in with the one rule from school.

Thank you NetGalley and Smith Publicity for allowing me to read this book.
