A beautiful, poignant story I will not forget. Amazing how human beings can inflict pain and horrors on other human beings because of the colour of their skin, while others risk their own lives to save people. This story shows these two sides of humanity as well as the strength of survival. The fact that this tale has been initiated by a true story/history makes it even more worthwhile! Excellent read!

Thoroughly enjoy this book, it painted a very vivid picture of how down trodden the African American people were.
Slavery was an abomination to all mankind. Enjoy the story thank you for writing it
