This book has all the elements you want from a book. You have humor, action, heart, and the camaraderie. Well written and will definitely keep your attention from the first page to the last. No spoilers just a great addition to the series. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review

You absolutely know when the characters in a novel are retired navy seals, that what should be a simple treasure hunt, is NOT the only thing you are going to get before the story reaches its conclusion.

In Ride the Tide, the third novel in Julie Ann Walker's Deep Six series, this team of salvage experts are looking for the Santa Cristina, a Spanish galleon, suspected to be somewhere in the deep waters of the Florida Keys.

Not everything goes according to plan though and the team have to defend themselves against some 'unfriendlies' set on avenging some wrong doing, as they see it.

Not having read the other novels in this series didn't put me at a disadvantage as this can easily be read and enjoyed as a standalone but I'll absolutely be going back to read what has come before.

The development of the relationship between Mason and Alex, although shrouded by a strange request, is meant to be and is evident to everyone but the two involved. As always though, baggage needs to be unpacked and sorted before being safely packed to make way for a new beginning.

Ride the Tide is another great addition to the catalogue of Julie Ann Walker.

I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. This story just hooked me right in and wouldn’t let go until the very last page. I love military/ex-military books and this one certainly didn’t disappoint me. The writing is wonderful and the secondary characters are awesome. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

I struggled a bit with this book initially. I found Alex annoying with her attempts to get Mason to sleep with her. It wasn't very becoming of her and so desperate. Once the suspense action kicked in the book became far more interesting. I enjoyed the story. Liked Alex when she wasn't being pushy. I enjoyed Mason and the rest of the team.

The book is well written. There's a good love story and I liked all the action.

Mason "Monet" McCarthy works with Deep Six Salvage on finding The Santa Cristina. Mason can't take his mind off of Alexandra "Alex" Merriweather. Alex is helping Deep Six and may have thought of another place they could search for clues. Mason thinks is useless in a relationship holding Alex at arm's length to protect himself. Can Mason admit his feelings? Can Alex convince Mason he's perfect as is? Your answers await you in Ride the Tide.

I've been waiting for the next release in this series and it did not disappoint.

As the Deep Six crew are still working on finding the sunken treasure ship, more trouble finds them. Alex is the chatty historian that accompanies them on this trip and she's got her sights set on Mason. He isn't ready to open up to get, and when his past meets his present, he realizes that he needs to change his tune.

There's still more in this series and I'm hoping that Wolf is next on deck.

I've been enjoying the Deep Six stories and this is one is no different. We've seen glimpses of the romance between historian Alexandra "Alex" Merriweather and former SEAL Mason McCarthy. She's a twenty-seven-year-old virgin who has made it plain that she'd like her first to be with Mason. Petite and red-headed, she fascinated Mason but his first marriage burned him to the point where he is not going to be good for any woman. Or so that is his overriding belief. But he also knows that, if he has even just one taste of Alex, he'll never be able to let her go.
And that is very similar to other romances but the Deep Six series also has the search for sunken treasure and baddies that persist in trying to kill one or all of the team. There was a b-plot romance as well that is set up to be the next book but it did take away some from Alex and Mason.

Three and a half stars

I loved this book❤❤❤. Can Mason, the damaged former seal, keep Alex, the nerdy virgin, safe when the bullets start flying and keep the explosive chemistry he feels for her without breaking her heart under wrap or will Alex bring him to his knees. This one has all of the action, murder and mayhem and feels that I love in a romantic suspense book! I volunteered an honest opinion for this book

Ride the Tide by Julie Ann Walker is the third book in her Deep Six series. I haven't read the first two, but I didn't feel lost not having done so.

I thoroughly enjoyed Mason and Alex's story. It was a bit of a slow-burn, which I absolutely love. The two of them complemented each other very well. Alex was intelligent, sweet and talkative. Mason was gruff, troubled and (usually) less than talkative. Their interactions were always entertaining or amusing, intense and emotional, or downright steamy, and I was loving it all.

Throw in the action and intrigue along with the amazing camaraderie between all the friends, and I am looking forward to continuing the series with the rest of the crew.

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review…that being said I was disappointed in the first half of this book which is rare with a Julie Walker book. While I was disappointed and annoyed I still could not put it down and had to keep reading. The main character Mason McCarthy is a former Navy Seal who believes he is not worthy of the heroine Alex Merriweather, who is a chatty (read she can’t ever stop spewing out facts), expert historian who has set her sights on Mason and choosing him to take care of her pesky virginity at the ripe old age of 27. The back and forth between the two as well as the verbal sparring between the other Deep Six members was annoying after the first couple of chapters. But around mid-book everything took a turn with the villains actively engaging the Deep Six crew. The evilness displayed by the villains was really glaring when compared to the honor and integrity of the Deep Six crew. I enjoyed the action and budding romance not just between Mason and Alex but also the potential upcoming romance between Wolf and Chrissy….some mystery there for us to look forward to.

I am a new reader of this author. I really liked the book by Julie Ann Walker. This is the third in a series and I recommend reading them in order. I will go back now to read #1 and #2.

Great book! Thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for the ARC.

I love Julie Ann Walker’s books. This was fits right in with all her other books. The characters are well developed. I loved Mason and Alex , their relationship. I grew up reading Mills and Boons and M no longer a fan of virgin heroines but the way it was handled in this book was so refreshing.

The search for the Santa Cristina continues! But it's very much a backdrop for Mason and Alex's story because the danger isn't coming from other treasure hunters or megalomaniac billionaires or any of the regular bad guys. This threat is from Mason's past, an enemy he may not even be aware he has!

Mason may be an epic former SEAL and frogman extraordinaire but he lacks tact and diplomacy! He really should have handled Alex's proposal a lot better. I mean it's not every day a girl asks someone she trusts to get rid of dratted v-card for her. She went to someone she cared about, liked and knew would treat her well - as well as give her lots of O's!

Alex is by turns goofy, geeky, sweetly sexy, and downright pit-bullish! She really has no concept of no sometimes. She really revels in pushing Mason's buttons. But she could land herself in hot water, especially if she keeps "hocking the wares" to any hot-blooded, single man on the team. Cos is any of them take her up on that proposal Mason will no doubt kill him!

Mason feels he'll never be enough for any woman, between his PTSD and hellish previous marriage, he's got a big old chip on his shoulder. Alex really is like an annoying genius wunderkind little sister to the team but with Mason, it's never been a family feeling, more an unrequited lust!

I did feel the whole v-card thing kinda took over the book at times and Alex sheer desperation would have been a put off for most blokes. But the sheer amount of times she's rejected before the kind of fumbling declaration of love by Mason would have left a lesser woman in tatters.

I did enjoy the book but I just felt that maybe a less desperate Alex and more forthcoming Mason may have made it more plausible and enjoyable. The non romance strands of the book were great as usual and I'm really looking forward to Chrissie and Wolf's story. And of course, Romeo - you just know he's going to go down kicking and screaming!

Alex, Mason and their group begin looking in a new location for a long sunken treasure. While searching Mason's past comes for him and may cost all of them their lives. Great characters with plenty of action and suspense. Enjoyed this book 3 in the series and look forward to the next on as we are left with some questions.

Deep Six former SEAL Mason "Monet" McCarthy is weary of relationships because of his divorce and his past SEAL missions. But trying to avoid Alexis Merriweather will be a challenge.

Historian Alexis Merriweather has no problem speaking her mind and telling Mason exactly what she wants. But when a man from Mason's past threatens their lives and puts Alexis at risk Mason has to finally admit how important Alexis is to him.

An adrenaline rushing novel full of sexual chemistry.

This can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading them in order, as an incident that occurred in a previous books is referred too here. I absolutely adored Alexis Smart, sassy and intelligent. Made me laugh out loud. Mason I wanted to smack a couple of times. Love all the other members of the team, I want to get to know them too. Brotherhood, sunken ship, mystery, steamy scenes. And all around good read. Thank you Sourcebooks Casablanca, thank you Julie Ann Walker, thank you NetGalley for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

I was hoping for more treasure hunting going on. There was a lot of suspense and romance. Alex is hilarious with her quick whit. Mason keeps up with her just fine.

Mason and Alex work well together. During extreme situations Mason, being a SEAL, jumps right in to save his friends and the woman he cares about. Alex is a historian but she has no problem jumping into the fray when she needs to.

Alex is ready to try to move on because she doesn't think Mason will ever want her. He is damaged from his time as a SEAL, he doesn't think he's normal and doesn't want to put Alex in ny danger that may follow from his past. Even though their past is already coming back with a vengeance and Alex doesn't run.

I could not put this book down once I started it. The action and characters kept moving and I wanted to know what happened next. I liked how Mason thought he was the only one not mixing well with being a civilian and his PTSD was a factor, Doc looked at him at went duh don't you think the rest of us have that problem too. That was a major turning point for Mason. I really liked this book! Can't wait for the next one.

A new adventure of the Deep - Six Crew. Evil people are out to kill Mason.
So the Santa Catharina must still wait on the seabed. Mason is a very complex character, who cannot see himself right because he does not suspect that he has PTSD. He does not speak much in general. In contrast Alex is a real chatterbox. And she has a problem. Which Mason should solve. But he doesn't want to. This results in wonderful dialogues , I only know this kind of style from Julie Ann Walker. Her writing style is unique and unmistakable.
The book consists of 80 % of the sequence of one day and then makes some time leaps, which is characteristic for this series. My beloved side characters like Wolf, Romeo, Meat and Co. are also part of the series and give their opinions in a amusing way. Poor Mason.

The erotic moments are quite rare here, but that's because of the theme. Its more about comforting. Here the puns carries the eroticism. I also found the book varied. Moments between Mason and Alex alternate with pretty cool action and on top of that, the rest of the crew scores with lots of unsolicited advice.
The ending was a bit odd in my opinion. For the reader everything is plausible and exciting, but some of the characters act a bit strange.
Anyway, this episode is magical and I have taken the grumpy Mason as much into my heart as Alex.
