Oh man Maggie Finds Her Muse, was such good romance novel. I loved every bit of Maggie’s story. For me the story felt very realistic and at the same time felt like one of those old romantic comedies like Gidget or like Under the Tuscan Sun. I would so see this if it was a movie. My only complaint was that there wasn’t an epilogue. I wanted to see more of what happened with the characters.

Do you like books about books, or authors and bookshops? I love them! I find it interesting to be inside an author’s head. Maybe it’s a way to live vicariously through them.

Maggie is 48 years old, divorced, and has recently split up with her long time boyfriend. She is a best selling author and is under pressure to finish the 3rd book in her trilogy. Her agent, Lee, persuades her to overcome her writers block by joining him and his partner, Martin, in Paris. Throw in a daughter who already lives there, her ex-husband, and a handsome Frenchman, and Maggie has more than she bargained for.

This is a lovely summer read that is sweet and funny. I love how the protagonist gains more than just inspiration for her book.

It took me a couple of chapters to get into it as I wasn't connecting with the protagonist, but reading about Paris, food, & wine brought me back to my last trip to France and I had to finish it! Thank you NetGalley & St. Martin's Press

Such a fun, chick-lit style read. Who doesn't want to escape to Paris? Loved this one!

Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Who misses traveling as much as I do?!

After being confined to home for so many months, it was such a treat to read about Maggie's time in Paris. And, oh my goodness...the food! 😍

Maggie is a writer, and it was so interesting to read about her writing process while working on the final book in a popular trilogy. I also loved her relationships with her daughter (a wonderful, realistic portrayal of a young woman with autism), her ex-husband, and her friends. It was a quick, fun read!

Maggie Finds Her Muse was such a fun, light, romantic summer read! That said, I wouldn’t call it fluffy, as it had some real depth to it in the exploration of Maggie’s relationships with her daughter, ex-husband, as well as the new people she meets along the way.

I loved being wisked off to Paris with our heroine, and the author’s vivid descriptions of the scenery, people and food was exquisite. I’ve never been to Paris, but she made me want to go, if only to eat cheese, drink wine and people-watch.

It was a pleasure taking the journey with Maggie while she found her muse---and more!
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press, Netgalley and Dee Ernst for an egalley of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Maggie Bliss suffers from writer’s block and comes to Paris to retrieve her muse. She’s single again at 48, and hopes her stay will birth a new book and a new life. Her daughter starts school nearby, and soon Maggie’s ex-hubs Alan shows up too. He wants to reunite, but she’s intrigued by Max, a handsome Frenchman she found in her bathtub.

Will she finally finish her book? Patch things up with Alan? Or get her groove back with Max? A sexy summer read!

Maggie Bliss is in a slump. She is contracted to write the third novel of the Delano’s Trilogy and she has already missed several deadlines. She cannot miss this last one or all bets are off for publication, book tour, and that little beach house she’s been dreaming about.
Her agent calls and suggests she come to Paris and stay with him and his partner. They are going to be traveling and other than the housekeeper she will have the apartment to herself. Maybe this is the opportunity to find her muse and get back into her writing groove after her latest breakup. And what luck, her daughter Nicole who she hasn’t seen for a year or so is going to college and living in nearby Rennes.
It’s complicated but Maggie is desperate.
What could go wrong? Her ex-husband Alan decides to visit Nicole as well, Nicole is in love and preoccupied with Louis, Solange the housekeeper has designs to hook up Maggie with her charming son Max and the pressure mounts as Maggie finds herself in the City of Lights with little more than her tee shirts and sweatpants and looming deadlines.
A charming story of find happiness later in life when you least expect it.

I started reading this book and enjoyed the premise of the story, but could not finish the novel. The lead character is very self-centered and writing feels flat. The story feels too contrived and is unreadable for me.

I really liked this book. Maggie was a fun character and it was nice to see an older heroine for once. It took awhile to get to the main plot which was a little frustrating. I would have liked at least 3 or 4 more steamy scenes. The ones that were in the book were really fun and original. Nicole was unique and you could tell the author had some first hand experience with Asperger's. Great beach read! Thanks Netgalley for the experience.

I loved this book. It was a delightful, beautiful book about romance. Everyone of the characters were all people I wanted to know more about and none were mean spirited and that made me happy. They all seem to grow and become happier in this book. The description of Paris, France and the food makes up for the trip I had to cancel this year due to COVID.and made me wish I was there.
The flow of the book was smooth and the expect trouble was hardly any trouble at all. To be honest this was one of the best romances I’ve read in a long time and it was loving without being sappy and allowed me to escape reality for awhile..
I’m so tired of the fictional story that is sad and complicated.

Blew through it in one day at the beach! Characters were cute, especially Maggie! Loved the setting! Paris is the best part of the book. It’s a tad predictable but still sweet and fun!

Maggie Finds her Muse was an enjoyable and delightful read. From the beginning, Maggie Bliss was identifiable; I saw much of myself in her. She wasn’t a far fetched, overly glamorous person, but a real imperfect woman, yet intelligent and strong, dealing with much the same problems every woman does. This is not a deterrent to read the book, but one that provides the reader with encouragement to see their own world differently, perhaps take a few chances or step out of their comfort zone. I would have liked to have seen a bit more relationship development between Maggie and her daughter. While the author explains that Nichole has Aspergers, I felt the mother-daughter dynamic still a bit sparse and strained whereas we are told that Nichole and Alan had a lot of catching up and their relationship appears a bit better, or perhaps a bit more settled. Overall, the mix of eclectic characters worked cohesively, their differing personalities complementing each other well. I was pleased with the outcome and Maggie’s realization of where he heart lied.

Cute and funny, this book was good. I like that it focuses on a middle-aged woman who is still in her prime and accepts the adventure to regroup her creative fire. I like that she is able to come into her own power and self again, and realize her potency and potential as well as be able to find love.

What a relatable book! Even though I am not a 48 year old bestselling author, I completely understand what it’s like to have writer’s block and how you would do anything or go anywhere for inspiration. Sometimes that doesn’t always work out either! I liked how the story was realistic and obviously I was sold as soon as I heard Paris!

What a lovely treat. I just escaped into this book and fell in love with Paris all over again, and with Max for the first time. Readers everywhere are going to be so delighted to meet Maggie and go on this journey with her.

I received this book complimentary from NetGalley but all opinions are my own.

Oh this one is so good. Max is delightful and I love his charm. I really appreciate how Max and Maggie found themselves in each other. It was sweet and charming and adorable. I love Nicole and Louis and Alan. Solange was magnificent and probably my favorite character. I love the setting, as I love Paris and now need to visit Rennes. This is just a wonderful story. I will certainly be seeking out books from this author in the future.

Poor Maggie has no muse to jump start her writing. She is suffering from a severe case of writer's block and a quickly approaching deadline for the final book in her trilogy. Add to her stress, is a sudden break-up with her self-involved boyfriend. Maggie's agent comes to the rescue with a trip to Paris, where she can stay in his family's flat and write, while he and his partner travel. It's the perfect solution and Maggie can visit her daughter, Nicole, who is living in France. It is the perfect plan, until things start to get a little tricky. Maggie's ex-husband, Alan, is also visiting France, and she's surprised to find he's changed from the man she used to be married to. Then there is Max, the caretakers son, who turns out to be an interesting surprise. Throw in some site seeing and bonding with Maggie's daughter and her boyfriend. With all of these distractions, some wonderful and some complicated, the question remains as to whether or not Maggie will mind her muse and finish her book?

Dee Ernst creates relatable characters with real problems that draw in the reader. I couldn't put it down and stayed up late to finish this book! I will be checking out some of the other titles by Dee Ernst and can't wait to read another of her books.

This is a light, fun romance novel. If you enjoy Jill Mansell, be sure to check this book out when it is released in April 2021. Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the E-ARC.

Maggie Finds Her Muse is a charming read!!!
Paris culture ,food and customs! Take me away with some armchair travel.
Maggie, an author, has to write her third book for her trilogy series . She needs to find her muse ,will it be an ex-husband, a Frenchman, her daughter, all of Paris or…
We all can use a muse. Find out all the details to motivate Maggie’s third novel.
This was a charming story and a fast page turner for me. I read it by the ocean and couldn’t wait to see what Maggie’s muse would be. The cool water came second to my interest in reading on.
I did not like the references to the novel in which she was writing herself. I loved all the other aspects of this enjoyable story.
Maggie did Find Her Muse!!
I hope she’ll relax herself on a beach with a French bottle of wine too!
I reviewed this ARC from NetGalley and Dee Ernst!!
