I loved this book so much. The writing was fluid. The story was enveloping and I felt like I really knew the characters by the end. First time to read this author and I've already started another book by her.

Very enjoyable story of a writer who is having trouble finishing her third book of a trilogy, so her agent and friend offers up a place in Paris complete with a housekeeper. She goes, of course. Her daughter Nicole is living in France, so she arranges to meet up. Her daughter mentions that Maggie's ex-husband Alan is also in France. Oh boy! To the rescue comes the housekeeper's son, a banker, who helps transform Maggie with a new hairdo and clothes to impress. They all meet and Alan is impressed. But, so is the banker...

I loved this book, the surprise of where Maggie takes us when she needs to find her muse in order to finish writing the final book in her romantic trilogy. Her ex, Alan, is interested in getting back together, and their daughter Nicole is all for it. But Maggie finds her muse in an unexpected and different way.

I won't tell where all this takes place, but it involves lots of wine, cheese, bread, pastries, and fresh fruit. The setting makes the book even more romantic.

Maggie has writers block. She’s stuck on the third book in her romantic trilogy and is already behind in her commitment to get it to gopher editor. In addition, she needs to clear the romantic deadwood from her life. Her friends offer to let her stay in their Paris apartment to see if she can get on track. Maggie is superstitious about muses and hopes to find hers in Paris. Her ex husband is also in Paris and their adult daughter thinks they should get back together. Will Maggie settle for the familiar or is there something more exciting in her future? This was a perfect summer afternoon read - It kept me interested and invested in Maggie’s life.

I absolutely loved this book. The story was so original, the characters were loveable. I'm so glad I read this book, I flew through it in a day!

This was the perfect summer read. A little predictable, but I enjoyed escaping to Paris and revisiting some of the places I've been!

I''m not usually into romance/women's lit, but I enjoyed this book. I envy the main character's life and her writing skills. The book was funny and sexy. I would recommend it to patrons. ARC provided by Net Galley in exchange for a fair review.

Another winner by Dee Ernst. Maggie Finds Her Muse, like other books by this author, highlights the escapades of women of a "certain age". Maggie is an author who seems to have lost her ability to write an engaging story for the last book of her very successful series. I enjoyed the descriptions of the areas of Paris in which most of this book takes place, not to mention the descriptions of the food. (bread, give me bread!) Ms. Ernst has written a delightful book that will draw in readers of every age.

This book was fine. A light, fluffy predictable sort of rom-com that didn't require much more than sitting back and waiting for the happily ever after.

Opportunity knocks in the form of her publicist and agent who have a place in Paris and legal matters send this merry band to Paris and a cast of characters to rival Dickens. Aside from the race to finish her next novel Maggie falls for Paris HARD. In her discovery she meets the house keepers charming son, and reunites with her sensible daughter and newly separated ex husband also adrift in Paris. A love letter to the city and people of the City Of Lights. It is also a very adult treatment of love in the afternoon. Happy reading

Perfect escape from all that is wrong in the world. Incredible food, friendship, and Paris, what more could you ask for in a book?

This book was delightful to read in so many ways. I love the writing, the wittiness and the humor. The fact that it was set in Paris added an extra panache for this reader. I am quite sure there are many writers out there that, at times, have writer's block. For myself, I fully understand how she felt mostly because as an amatuer writer I have been there. No I've never been published, never tried. However, I have had a muse, one that was the inspiration of my creativity. Reading this book was something I could "almost" relate to While I never flew off to Paris (although I have been there), never left my family, my muse was a real life person, one whom I admired from a distance!!!

The question isn't will Maggie find her muse, we know she will, but how she finds what she's looking for is the question! This book just tickled me, the author's writing drew me in, giving me a novel that was an easy read, comfortable, humorous and downright lovely. It didn't hurt that the setting was in Paris, my favorite city. My thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What a lovely book.

Maggie hasn’t been able to even start the third novel in her successful trilogy, and she’s going to miss her deadline, so her agent and his partner suggest that she accompany them to Paris. Her daughter is living there, and by chance, her ex-husband Alan is there to visit their daughter. In addition to Alan, she meets Max, who encourages her to wear clothes other than her scruffy writing outfits and get her hair and nails done. In Paris, she can magically write once again, and in between cranking out a first draft, she visits the gardens and museums of Paris, naturally eating tons of bread and cheese and butter and delicacies all washed down with ample amounts of wine. Will she fall back for Alan now that they are in a different stage of their lives? Will she fall for Max, the Frenchman?

This novel won’t be released for almost a year, and maybe by then travel won’t seem quite so scary, but this was a delightful novel to read during the safer-at-home orders of my state, although not a helpful book to read as I try to take off the quarantine weight in which I somehow thought calories didn’t count, and wasn’t getting that much of a workout using the remote control too many hours a day.

Romance and wonderful characters including France fill this enjoyable read.

Maggie Finds Her Muse takes readers to Paris where blocked romance writer, Maggie has delightful experiences, meets interesting people, reconnects with her ex and their daughter and hopefully finds the words for the last book in a contracted trilogy. The story is filled with French culture, food, and attractions...scenic and personal, plus Maggie’s very active, often humorous imagination that can be triggered by the smallest things. This reader’s planned trip to Paris was postponed during the pandemic, but everything learned in preparation for the trip was confirmed by Ms. Ernst within the pages of this lovely story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.

Paris is magic and how the author described Maggie's experience was beautiful. It was there that she found her muse but most importantly, she found courage and learned not to settle. Nicole describing how her mom.chose relationships similar to the characters in her romance novels was spot on which is why she could never go back to Alan. Max is her person.

Maggie Bliss has writer’s block on her 3rd book of her trilogy. Her agent Lee suggests her fly to Paris with him and his partner and stay in his family apartment. She decides to do it after she breaks up with her live in boyfriend. Maggie also thinks it’s a great idea because her daughter Nic is in France. Maggie meets Max who is Solange‘s son and the caretaker of the house. Also as a distraction is her ex-husband Alan whom she has been divorced for many years, he is in France visiting their daughter. Maggie starts writing again because she has found her muse . I won’t tell you what that it is because it would give the book away. The author does a wonderful job in describing the food, attractions and the characters. I enjoyed this book. I now want to go to France. Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the E-ARC. Paris!

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel by Dee Ernst. Maggie is a successful author with a bit a writer's block and so when an opportunity arises for her to visit Paris for a bit of inspiration, she takes it. As the title indicates, she does in fact find her muse in Paris but the journey to that point is great fun.

Dee Ernst takes her readers to the streets of Paris, the restaurants, and all of the typical tourist places, but she also takes you off the beaten path a bit and I enjoyed every minute. I never felt like I was reading a travelogue or that the setting was forced. She spent a lot of time describing food and the meals everyone ate but it was never to the point that it overshadowed the story.

The characters were all likable, if at times underdeveloped. Maggie is very sympathetic and I always felt like I was on this journey with her.

Overall, a fun read!
