I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. I was so stoked to get my hands on this book. The Companion follows Margot’s journey of moving into the Sutton family home under the premise of being the family’s daughter’s companion. But nothing is as it seems in the Sutton house. Creepy writing on the walls, a mystery surrounding Mrs. Sutton’s dead sister, and lots of poison.

Several times while reading this book, I got chills. Some scenes were so well done and unsettling that I couldn’t stop reading, I had to find out what happened next. I was able to figure out by about 60% of the way through what was going to happen. I would have liked for it to be a little less predictable. Also, the epilogue left me with more questions than answers.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing more from this author.

Katie Alender is the best thing that has happened to young adult thrillers/horror! I loved this book, everything about it pulls you in, the name, the cover and the first chapter. The story starts with Margot who loses her whole family in an accident and is adopted by the well to do Sutton family whom live in Copeland manor. Margot thinks her life has changed for the better but is quickly brought to reality when she learns she will be the Sutton's catatonic like daughter (Agatha) companion. From there Margot learns that things are not as they seem in the Sutton Family.
