This book was fun. I loved the vet side of things and the romance was sweet. It's a nice, short read, if you're in a rush, and the suspense is palpable. Four stars.

Trust proves to be a difficult commodity to trade for veterinarian Grace Porter in this thrilling story. Grace is on a Facetime call with her sister Choe when she stops to get gas. Chloe is now divorced and Grace is headed her way to help out at the family vet clinic. She also intends to offer Chloe any emotional support that she might need. The phone call ends rather abruptly with the screen going black, Grace hearing Chloe's screen, and a man wearing a ski mask suddenly filling the screen.

Imgaine Grace's terror for Chloe. Fortunately, Grace was almost at Chloe's house when her car ran out of gas, so she gets to the house rather quickly. What happens next is incredibly chilling. She comes face-to-face with Chloe's intruder. Before he flees, he delivers an ominous message to her. In rapid succession, Grace discovers Chloe is still alive, although injured. The police show up thanks to the quick 9-1-1 call Grace made, and the cop in charge is none other than her ex-boyfriend Police Chief Evan Bradshaw.

Grace's head is spinning. Who attacked Chloe? Why does it seem that Grace is also in danger? And will Grace be able to trust Evan to assist them and possibly play a role in keeping them safe? As he is a single father, Evan has a lot at stake if he involves himself in Grace and Chloe's plight. Drama, family, suspense and the possibility for a second chance each play a role in this quick read by Rhonda Starnes.

Many thanks to Love Inspired Suspense and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

What I think you should know:
Rocky Mountain Revenge is an Inspirational Romantic Suspense by Rhonda Starnes. It is a standalone in the Love Inspired Inspirational Romance group.

What you might need to know:
Evan lost his wife when she was murdered, prior to her tragic murder she suffered from Miscarriage and Postpartum Depression.

What I think about this book:
This was such a fast paced suspenseful story. It started with a shock and didn't slow down until the end. Grace grew up in a small town, but instead of the close family feeling she always felt like she was being judged. After finally finding a home Evan couldn’t imagine ever leaving it. Starnes did a good job of developing the character’s backstory while still maintaining the fast pace of the story. With attempted murder and illegal horse racing in a small town where everyone knows each other this story has everything it needs to keep you turning the page to find out if the bad guys can be caught before they catch up with Grace.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

This kind of book is my favorite, romantic suspense. This author did a great job with the book. It is packed with action and suspense. From the first page I was hooked and didn't put the book down (except when absolutely necessary) until I'd finished it.

Seriously, I can't believe this is a debut novel from this author. She didn't hold back and kept you guessing on who was doing it and what was going on and where it would all go next. There were moments of levity but it was also just packed full of just everything. I can't wait to read more from this author.

It was a 5/5 for me.

Thank you to the author/publisher for the review copy of this book via Celebrate Lit. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

Rocky Mountain Revenge had me hooked from the beginning. I loved that Grace was a vet. Her sister dog that was a Great Dane added so much to the story. My favorite character was Evan who was determined to protect Grace. Will he be able to be her safe from the killer? I loved the suspense and mystery of who did it. This is my first book by the author. I enjoyed it and plan to read more of her books.

Amazing Grace - you are next!

Those words would bring a chill to your whole being if you found yourself in a compromising situation. Who and why would anyone want to hurt Grace or her sister Chloe? Enter the small town of Blackberry Falls where everyone knows everything about you, even if you don’t live there anymore. Someone must know what’s going on...

Lots of danger and excitement in this suspense that will keep you guessing, trying to figure out who started this rash of attacks. Assaults, drugs, break-ins and kidnapping are just a few of the disturbances the police department is trying to solve. And somehow Grace seems to find herself in the middle of most of them. Will she survive long enough to find out who wants her dead?

An ARC was received through Love Inspired Suspense, Harlequin and CelebrateLit. The comments and impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.

An enjoyable read. Fast paced that I ended up finishing in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. The best suspense are the ones that you can't put down.

I really enjoyed Rocky Mountain Revenge by Rhonda Starnes.
Grace comes home to help her sister at her family's vet clinic and someone is out for revenge and has already attacked her sister and is out to get her, but the local Police Chief Evan is also her ex-boyfriend and he will do anything to keep Grace safe while trying to find out who wants her dead.
I'm looking forward to reading more wonderful books by this author in the future. If you love inspirational romantic suspense then you definitely want to add this book to your TBR list.

I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

My oh my is this an intriguing story. I was swept away into an adventure from the beginning. It was fun to read about a small town where everyone watches out for each other. I did like Grace but at times she seemed a bit gullible. When her sister and her are in danger you could feel the tension rise. Coming back to where she grew up might have been a big mistake for Grace.

Someone is determined to kill Grace and her sister and I began to try to figure out who was behind the plan. Evan and Grace have a history but right now all the chief of police wants to do is focus on keeping Grace safe. I loved getting a behind the scenes look at horse racing. How sad it is that people will do evil things to make sure a horse wins. The mystery takes a scary turn when Grace comes up missing. I did think it was weird that Grace would fall for a trick to get her into a car with a suspect. I had a hard time believing she was easily persuaded to go with this person.

The story is good, but there are a few places where I think the author could have made the story more believable. Grace let’s her guard down too much and puts herself in harms way even though Evan has warned her to never be alone. The romance between them was good but I knew what the outcome would be. I liked the story but wanted a bit more suspense and less predictable outcome.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Rocky Mountain Revenge, by Rhonda Starnes, is a great story filled with action, suspense, mystery and romance. This is a very well written story, with strong likeable characters, that is easy to follow and imagine what is happening.
Grace is one her way "home" to help her sister keep their father's veterinary clinic going. Her sister is divorcing and the ex will no longer be working for them. Her sister does not like entering her home alone and with video chatting with Grace, she feels comfortable. But this time, someone is waiting for her and Grace sees it all. Someone is out to get the sisters, but who and why?
I really enjoyed reading this story. The theme of having faith and helping others is strong in this story. This is a nice story of second chances. The story is full of action and suspense with just a touch of romance.
I received a complimentary copy of the book and that a positive review is not required.

Considering that I read this at Christmastime, the first thing that comes to mind is the song “My Favorite Things.” Rural small-town life, dogs, horses, suspense: yes, “these are a few of my favorite things”! I love that this book combines all of these elements to tell a story about how the past shapes the present and how, through God’s love and His purpose for our lives, He can redeem our past and bring to fruition the promise to “work all things together for the good of those who love Him.” In a world that so often seems incomprehensible, what a blessed assurance to realize this fact!

Rhonda Starnes makes her debut as a novelist with “Rocky Mountain Revenge,” which is part of the Love Inspired Suspense series. The first chapter is one of the most spine-chilling that I have read in this series, yet without resorting to the macabre, which is one of the many reasons that I enjoy and respect inspirational fiction of this caliber. Because this particular story also involves animals, especially dogs and horses, I also greatly appreciate that no animals meet their demise during the present, unfolding action of the narrative, although for those who may be sensitive, there is an allusion to the prior death of an animal. However, Starnes does a fantastic job of conveying necessary plot points while refraining from any graphic detail. For those like me who can’t stand for harm to come to an animal, this is essential.

To a certain extent, the books in this and similar series are formulaic, giving readers a mostly apparent idea of which characters will become a couple, how the major parts of the plot will likely play out, and at least part of the motive. This is where the author’s writing skill takes effect, and for an initiate especially, Starnes develops her story enough to add in twists that propel the plot forward. More than once, I admit that I thought the mystery was about to be solved and wondered what the rest of the book would be about! Despite guessing some of the plotline, I did not figure out all of the connections, nor did I ever become at all disinterested while reading. The faith aspect is more about showing than telling, as one of the characters slowly comes back to the Lord after a tragedy, and the theme of redemption and of the Lord making all things new finds fulfillment in more ways than one. There is a saying that “You can’t go home again.” However, that does not hold true when it comes to our place of belonging in the arms of the Savior, Who always stands ready to welcome us home to Him, and that is one homecoming that we don’t want to miss!

This LIS is true to formula, but has a fresh voice and a unique spin that I found appealing. I didn't want to stop reading.

I liked that Grace and Evan had a prior relationship. That made the quick time-line more believable. I really loved this book and will look for more by this author.

I did figure out part of the who-dun-it and why but there weere some surprises.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tale of suspense, intrigue, and danger. And let's not forget the animals. Grace's return to the veterinary clinic and the chaos she endures alongside Evan, brought a great storyline straight to the top of my reading list. Evan's son is adorable and Grace's Great Dane brought the element of fun and normalcy to break up the constant threat.
I like that Rocky Mountain Revenge felt different. The threat and danger were prevalent, as they should be in a romantic suspense, but there was also more of a spiritual factor that I appreciated. Grace's prayers were quick but heartfelt, and I loved seeing them in the story.

Another very good Love Inspired Suspense Romance. I really enjoyed this book and was surprised to learn in was Rhonda’s first Love Inspired books.

I, of course, loved the dog in this book, who wouldn’t appreciate that?

The author had me guessing until the end about what was actually going on and who was behind the attacks. Grace had a lot of prejudices against the small town she grew up in and I wanted her to see the good things that were happening in her town.

Overall, a sweet romance and suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat.

This novel of romantic suspense started off with a good dose of heart pounding action and remained relatively intense throughout. It is a good debut effort. The lead characters are crafted pretty well. One of my pet peeves is a character making a stupid move and then a great deal of suspense resulting. That happens with Grace, the heroine, when she goes back on a promise to Evan, the hero, makes a very wrong decision and, of course, much suspense results.

The romance aspect of the plot was good, reacquainting people who were previously in love. That allowed feelings to grow quickly in this short novel. The Christian witness is sufficient, making it an overall pleasant read for this genre.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book through Celebrate Lit. My comments are an independent and honest review.

This book has a storyline filled with suspense that immediately drew me into the almost non-stop action. Grace Porter, one of the main characters in the book, is a woman of courage and determination, with a strong love of family. Someone is trying to kill both Grace and her sister, Chloe, and it’s a race against time to try to find out who is threatening them and why they are being targeted. I also liked the character of Evan, who is the police chief of Blackberry Falls. As the romance between Evan and Grace is renewed, they need to put their personal feelings aside to make sure the killer is captured. This book’s filled with suspenseful twists and turns that kept me wanting to see what would happen next. This is another good book from Love Inspired Fiction.

Rocky Mountain Revenge by Rhonda Starnes is a fast-paced, suspense-filled story! I loved how Rhonda jumped right into the mystery from the first chapter, it caught and my interest right away and I enjoyed her writing style. The suspense was believable and very engaging (in an edge of your seat kind of way), and the circumstances the characters found themselves in were something I could see happening. I thought that Rhonda Starnes did a good job with the character's personalities and I liked the tensions and understories that she created with them. I liked Grace’s dedication toward her family, and I thought Even’s character was well developed in a short time!
From someone who has read almost every Love Inspired Suspense book I will tell you that it is one of my favorites 😊
I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
