This is an excellent suspense novel, considering that it is a debut.
A bit on the short side, for my personal preference... :) but I enjoyed it and found it a fun, easy read.
Action, danger, and mystery are throughout this story. Grace is the heroine, and must find out why someone wants her and her sister Chloe dead.

A great debut novel! I loved that this story is set in a small town, my favorite type of setting! Grace and Evan have known each other since they were kids, I love it when the hero and heroine have shared history and that was a great aspect of this story. Rocky Mountain Revenge features a friends-to-more love story, which is one of my favorite tropes and I felt it was perfect for this story!
I loved that the heroine was a veterinarian, that was awesome!
The suspense was very good, and definitely keeps you on your toes.
Overall, Rocky Mountain Revenge is a great read, check it out!
(4 Stars!)
I received an ebook copy of this book from the publisher. Which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own!

Holy Suspense! This book definitely grabs you right from the start. The story is about Grace who is a veterinarian who has left the town of Blackberry Falls partly because of her pre-conceived ideas of what small town life is like. She returns to Blackberry Falls to help her sister Chloe through her divorce and manage the veterinary office that her father left her.
Seriously when I say that the first chapter of the book completely has you on the edge of your seat, nail biting as you are trying to figure out what is happening and who is the person out to get these sisters. As the story evolves you think you have it all figured out then the author throws in something else into the mix to throw you off! I loved it!! I love suspense novels so this one had me hooked. I honestly had to stop in the middle of the book and see if Rhonda Starnes had any other books out for me to read and I was completely surprised that this was her debut novel.
There is some romantic aspects in this story as the story is also about Evan the sheriff in town, who was in love with Grace and even proposed to her before she left town. So there is definitely some unresolved feelings between them but the story line itself is not simply about their romance which I thought was refreshing. Don't get me wrong there was romance going on but you are so focused on figuring out what is happening that it just kind of blends and flows well together.
If you love suspense stories this is the book for you! Definitely expect the unexpected with this one. I would not mind returning to Blackberry Falls and seeing a bit more of these characters again!

I really enjoyed ROCKY MOUNTAIN REVENGE and can’t believe it is a debut novel. It had my heart racing over and over again. Trust me, hang on tight! The emotional roller coaster Rhonda Starnes puts her readers on with ROCKY MOUNTAIN REVENGE is one crazy ride. I really don’t think I’ve ever read a Love Inspired Suspense with this much excitement!
Deception and pain, love and loss, secrets and truths, hope and redemption—they all twist and tangle together to create this unforgettable novel, ROCKY MOUNTAIN REVENGE. Hang on to your seats because when you find out why events unfolded as they did, you will be shell shocked! I’m going to stop here because my emotions are once again on a crazy roller coaster ride! Plus I don’t want to give anything away. Do yourself a favor and run to get ROCKY MOUNTAIN REVENGE right away. I am so excited to read more by Rhonda Starnes!
If you can handle a well written suspenseful story that makes you wonder if you could handle a situation like this, then read ROCKY MOUNTAIN REVENGE! You won’t be sorry! There are also moments of humor. I was holding my breath for the next chapter and hoping for the ending I wanted more than ever! But I can say that I was hooked from the very first page and completely drawn into these characters’ lives. Once I started reading ROCKY MOUNTAIN REVENGE I discovered that there’s even more to this story than meets the eye. There’s an added layer to it that I absolutely loved but that I won’t mention because discovering it as you read is honestly the best. It will surprise, shock, impress, grip and absorb you into its story. And those wonderful characters, how happy I am for having ‘met’ them! They will stick with me for a very long time.

Veterinarian Grace Porter has returned to her hometown of Blackberry Falls, Colorado, to support her sister Chloe who is in the midst of a divorce. Grace is to temporarily take over the family animal clinic, while Chloe's soon-to-be ex will be leaving the clinic. An attack with severe injuries ensues, and Dr. Porter is now dependent on her former boyfriend and single dad, Chief Evan Bradshaw, to help her find her sister's attacker before he gets to Grace.
I enjoyed the author's debut novel and easily connected with the characters. Grace was certainly very likable, but I wondered why she left Evan the way she did eight years ago. Evan was a complete gentleman, and was extremely loyal both as the chief and as a single Dad. I didn't care much for the more shady characters in the novel, or for Chloe's husband James for obvious reasons. Fortunately, Dr. Grace Porter still has a good rapport with Evan, and they worked hard together to solve the crime, even with their lives at stake at times. The suspense ratchets up, but gives you time to catch your breath between incidents. The cutest minor characters were Evan's son Camden and a mellow Great Dane named Barkley, which gave some sweet relief from the suspense. I enjoyed her debut and will definitely look for future novels.

When Grace’s sister is attacked, Grace is told that she’s next. Unable to leave the vet clinic she shares with her sister, she’s forced to rely on former boyfriend Evan Bradshaw, now chief of police in the little town she grew up in, to protect her.
Grace and Evan’s story is very exciting! From the first attack through the desperate resolution, the tension never really lets up, and the development of their romance as things move along in the search for Grace’s sister’s attacker is emotional and believable. Living through Grace’s revelations about small-town life and reconciling her past were empowering. I wasn’t as taken by Evan’s journey, which at times seemed to take a backseat to Grace’s development in the book, but the things he was going through certainly weren’t ignored!
Love Inspired Suspense novels having a necessary Christian tone to them, the book is, as expected, very sweet. Starnes avoids being preachy, but I actually could have done with a bit more exploration of the characters’ faith lives as things happened. (That said, I’m fairly new to the LIS line, so my expectations may be outsized?)
Overall, Rocky Mountain Revenge was a good, solid story that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone who enjoys sweet romance and suspense. I’m looking forward to seeing Starnes’ next book!

What a fun book! It starts out with Grace getting gas at a sketchy spot when her sister facetimes her. Chloe worked late and hates going into a dark house by herself. Only Grace ends up seeing someone attacking her sister. By the time she gets to the house, after calling 911, her sister is being pushed off a balcony and she sees the guys face.
Whew. That’s a lot to happen in the first chapter!
But then it gets better when Grace’s old flame is the sheriff who shows up on the scene. Evan vows to keep her safe since the attacker told her she was next. Can Grace figure out who did this and why without getting herself killed? She’s not very good at taking orders.
When Grace also discovers that vet records have been falsified, combined with the missing drugs, well, let’s just say she knows something major is going on!
What a fun book! It moves fast and furious and there are car chases and people being attacked. Plus a good guy who’s not so good and a bad guy with a grudge. It’s so good! I loved it. It read really fast and I didn’t want to have to take breaks. Grace is a strong character but she left town because she hated the gossip of small-town life. But now that she’s back she’s seeing it more as caring and less as gossip.

This book was suspenseful all the way through! I found my heart beating a little faster on multiple occasions. I liked that there were several people who could be behind the attempted murders and that I couldn’t figure it out until the end.
I thought the background on Grace and Evan’s history was well described. The couple was together a lot due to the danger facing Grace and Evan being the chief of police, however I would have preferred a little more personal interaction between them and more description of their current feelings growing toward each other throughout the story.
I liked the addition of a private security company and seeing how it played a role in this case. I also liked Evan’s relationship with his in-laws.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The way in which Rhonda Starnes weaves her plot in Rocky Mountain Revenge makes it hard to believe this is her debut novel.
Grace and Evan have gone their separate ways but when danger brings them back together, Evan is determined to protect the woman he once loved. With plenty of suspects, a lovable Great Dane, and nefarious deeds happening in this small Colorado town, this book was hard to put down.
Starnes also introduces a few characters I’d like to get to see get the lead roles in future books. All in all, a great debut that exceeded my expectations and left me excited about reading more stories from this author.
Disclosure statement: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

Who are Evan and Grace? What is happening at the beginning of the story? Who is Ingalls? Who is Chloe and why does Grace go see her? Where does each of these folks live? Holy smokes, this book gets very intense in just the first chapter! Who are Ryan and Bridget Vincent? How do they all know one another? Who are James, Marcia, Torres, Greg, Avery, and Valerie? I had some thoughts and suspicions on what was happening and what happened. On some things, I was correct, on others, I was so wrong! Read and see what I am talking about!

Has a story ever surprised you? Rocky Mountain Revenge by Rhonda Starnes was one of those stories for me. It follows Veterinarian Dr. Grace Porter as she tracks down the person who tried to kill her sister and wants to kill Grace next. With the help of Police Chief Evan Bradshaw, the man who’s proposal she turned down when they graduated high school, she tries to stay one step ahead of whoever it is that wants her dead.
I think what most surprised me most was the pace of the story. As a shorter romantic suspense novel, I have certain expectations, but this story carries the reader along at such a quick, consistent clip, I barely noticed how much time had passed until I reached the halfway point! The second half of the book had the same feel and left me feeling well-satisfied.
One of the characters I enjoyed most was Barkley, the Great Dane. I love that the author chose that particular breed and it was fun to watch him interact with the other characters. Great Danes are such cool dogs.
If you’re looking for a great story about love and payback, definitely check out Rocky Mountain Revenge.

Grace Porter returns to her hometown in small town Colorado to help out at her family's vet clinic, while dodging a would-be killer bent on revenge.
Homecoming are not always happy as Grace finds out, she and her sister find themselves the target of a someone with nefarious plans. Grace is a skilled veterinarian, she's quick on her feet and wants to be there for her sister.
Help comes in the form of her former flame Police chief Evan Bradshaw, who is a widowed single father. He is a devoted father and loves protecting the people in his town, I admired how he is doing his best to his son a stable home and roots.
An enjoyable read, fast read, though at times it could be predictable and much of Evan and Grace's relationship was based on previous events. I loved Evan's private investigator friends, and how supportive his family is. Grace is intelligent, and has worked hard to establish herself in her career. I loved the beautiful mountain setting, the friendships, family, and intrigue. Great small town suspense!

Grace is coming back to help at her family's vet clinic when someone attacks her sister. Now its clear the person who attacked her sister is coming for her two. The only thing is why is this person doing this? Police Chief Evan Bradshaw a friend from her past is there to help out and find out who is behind this and why.
I loved this book it was fast paced from the very beginning. I loved seeing both the characters point of view as they try to solve the case before the person comes after her. I also loved the bit of romance between the Grace and Evan and that it was pretty clean which I appreciate. Overall this was a pretty great book there isn't much to say but if you love a good mystery suspense novel with twist and turns your going to want to check this book out.

In Rocky Mountain Revenge, we meet Grace as she has returned briefly to her small hometown to help her sister in the family vet clinic. When her sister is attacked, she finds herself reunited with her ex-boyfriend Evan, now a police chief. What follows is a fun, quick paced romantic suspense that I thoroughly enjoyed.
The action starts right away and doesn't let up much throughout. Just when it seems like things might have calmed a bit, we're once again brought back to it. This constant action made it hard to put down, especially towards the end. While I suspected the bad guy early on, there was enough suspicion thrown elsewhere to keep me guessing and interested anyway.
While the suspense was great, of course, I always love a good romance too. Second chance romances always tend to be some of my favorites, and this one was a good one. I enjoyed both of these characters and felt it was a good balance of suspense and romance to satisfy my love of both.
Overall, this is a good read that fans of Christian suspense are sure to enjoy! With a debut like this, I cannot wait to see what Rhonda Starnes comes out with next!
**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher for consideration. All thoughts are 100% my own.

What a fun debut from Rhonda Starnes! Rocky Mountain Revenge has a thrilling plot with twists and turns, plenty of possible villains to have you guessing, a cast of characters who are endearing, and a nice faith thread woven into the characters' growth. Grace is a vet who comes back to her small hometown of Blackberry Falls to help her sister through a divorce. She's independent and does not want to be tied down to a small town that is a constant gossip mill. Grace and her sister Chloe are immediately threatened physically, which bring them face to face with Evan who is the town's chief of police and Grace's ex-boyfriend. Both Grace and Evan are likable but carry pain and hurt that they must deal with while running from villains and trying to figure out who would want to harm them and why. The suspense component of the plot is quite exciting and the romance is sweet, though they both try to resist their re-awakened feelings for each other. Evan's six year old son adds a dimension cuteness and charm to the story.
If you enjoy romantic suspense, you will totally enjoy this book. I received a copy of the book from the publisher/author via JustRead Publicity Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

An entertaining suspense novel that definitely kept me guessing. I don’t think I recall reading a vet/police chief suspense before and enjoyed the details of Grace’s vet practice. Of course that ties into the story; but is it because of her sister’s looming divorce of the lead vet, or from the illegal horse racing going on, which causes Grace’s life to be in danger and has already landed her sister in the hospital?
Evan was a pleasant hero and was super protective without being controlling, which many authors seem to find challenging to portray. His son Camden, as well as Grace’s dog-nephew Berkeley, steak the side character show nicely.

This is a suspense romance. This book was not everything I thought it would be. I found myself getting bored while reading this book. Yes, there was a lot of action, but I did not always understand what or why it was going on. I cannot say I liked this book which makes me very sad. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher or author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

"Rocky Mountain Revenge" is a romantic suspense novel. Grace moved away from her small hometown because she didn't like how everyone knew her business. She's only returning because the vet clinic she co-owns with her sister needs a vet now that her sister is divorcing her husband, the current vet. Grace arrives just in time to stop a deadly attack on her sister, but the attacker leaves Grace's sister in critical condition. Grace and her old flame, the police chief, work together to uncover who is attacking the sisters and why.
Since Grace saw the face of the attacker, they fairly quickly identified the man. There were moments of high suspense where Grace and her sister were in danger. But there's also a fun scene where Evan and Grace put on disguises and went to a race where their suspect would be so that Grace can identify him for the FBI. I liked that they were proactive and tried to set up traps for the bad guys rather than simply run from them until the very end.
The characters reacted realistically to events and were likable. Grace prayed to God for help on several occasions. Evan wasn't talking to God because he felt guilty about his wife's death, but he talked with Grace about what happened and started praying to God again. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this fun, exciting suspense.

With danger at every turn, author Rhonda Starnes writes like a seasoned pro in her debut Love Inspired Suspense novel. Rocky Mountain Revenge takes readers to Blackberry Falls, Colorado, where everyone knows everyone in this small-town tale of vengeance, faith, and rediscovering true love.
In Rocky Mountain Revenge, as veterinarian Grace Porter returns to her hometown, her sister is brutally attacked and suddenly the attacker sets his sights on Grace as well. With the assistance of her ex-boyfriend, Police Chief Evan Bradshaw, Grace and Evan are determined to find the perpetrator before it is too late.
Rocky Mountain Revenge shares the power of faith and the strength that God provides for us. Although I had an inkling of who the culprit might be early on, Rhonda Starnes kept me guessing as she introduced various viable suspects throughout the novel, and I was surprised as the connection between the key players was revealed. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
Rocky Mountain Revenge is recommended for fans of inspirational romantic suspense.
