The annual Halloween Haunt fundraiser to benefit Nantucket’s neediest will be held at a new venue this year—the creepy, abandoned Morton House. Candle maker extraordinaire Stella Wright has volunteered to help with the event, and while exploring the property, she uncovers the skeleton of a Quaker woman in a shack on the grounds. The shocking discovery reignites interest in the long-ago mystery surrounding the relationship of two best friends, the charming rogue who came between them, and their subsequent deaths.

The discovery and ensuing police investigation draw people from on- and off-island who have special and/or personal interest in the case. As they vie for a chance at their own fifteen minutes of fame, one of them is found dead, the victim of a strangling. Does a centuries-old corpse hold valuable secrets worth killing for? And who is motivated enough to stop at nothing to achieve personal gain?

15 Minutes of Flame is an engrossing cozy mystery steeped in Nantucket history and lore. Its numerous red herrings and strong suspect list will keep readers guessing whodunit until all is revealed at a party Stella hosts in the story’s closing pages. In author Christin Brecher's capable hands, protagonist and clever sleuth Stella becomes more deeply involved in the island community in this third Candle Marker Mystery—and carefully placed hints about future developments in Stella's personal life firmly cement further interest in the series. With autumn and Halloween fast approaching, 15 Minutes of Flame is a particularly satisfying read—and one that will leave readers eager for the next installment.

A Halloween inspired cozy complete with an old mystery mixed together with a new one. The story starts out with a brief recap so a new reader is never in the dark about who the important characters may be. Stella stumbles upon the original Cooper's Candle workshop (the chandlery) location behind the old Morton house. while helping some scouts plan for a haunted house event. This mystery has as many layers as a dip candle. The uncovering of a 100+ year old skeleton of young Patience Cooper who seems to have died as a result of truama. Archeologists are called out to investigate the find which leads them to another find, which leads to the "snuffing out" of an archeologist. All of this is filmed for a supernatural adventure story for Netflix. Stella and Peter are more than ready to help shed some light on the mysteries both old and new. There are plenty of colorful characters and clues for any armchair detective to follow. Best of all, there is a clam chowder recipe at the back of the book that is super simple to make, since I am not near Nantucket, I had to settle for clams in a can instead of quahogs of quality, but it turned out quite tasty! I am not sure if I liked where the book was going at the end but I am eager to find out in the next scentsational story. I do wish there was a local candle shop near me to go and make a candle timer/clock and some of those wonderful Halloween inspired candles as well.

This is a wonderful series that is one of my top five favorite cozy mystery series. Congratulations to the author on this #3 in the fabulous Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery by cozy author Christin Brecher. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley. My review opinion is my own. This is a wonderful Halloween theme next in series.

This series is set around a charming candle shop and candle maker on the island of Nantucket. Stella is a smart savvy protagonist who has a talent for solving crimes and running her very successful business. She makes candles and scents for different themes and holiday events. Her unique sense of smell gives her the opportunity to create scents that everyone loves.

This Halloween she has been asked to provide candles for her friends Halloween theme party in her
spooky historic house she has just purchased. This is a Girl Scout fund raiser that is near and dear to Stella's heart. Stella is thrilled to learn a candle shop is on the property left abandon for many years. As she explores the old shop she finds a body of a women who appears to be Quaker. The body dates back to the 18th century after forensics are called in. Stella is fascinated to try to solve the mystery of who this women was and why she was murdered and her body left in a wall. The murder investigation proves to be multi layered and soon Stella is finding she is close to solving the case.

I loved this next in series. The charcters are well drawn to the setting and all likable. Stella is a great protagnist and very talented candle maker. The island of Nantucket is the perfect setting for this fun cozy series. Well done to the author. Review cross posted.

I loved the first book in the series Murder's No Votive Confidence. The main Character Stella was kind, thoughtful, funny and smart. The first book had me laughing out loud a couple of times. A true cozy mystery for sure! I was so excited to get my hands on the 3rd book in the series 15 Minutes for Flame. But after reading a few chapters, I was highly disappointed. I did not understand what happened to the main character Stella. She changed so much. In the 3rd book, Stella is bossy, annoying, thoughtless, stupid and a bully. She has no regard to anyone or anything but the murder and what she has to do to get answers. She walks over every character in town. The poor guys Peter and Andy have no backbone. She uses people for her own gain. I feel so sorry for Peter. she only says she loves him when he drops what he is doing and does what she says. No questions asked. I feel she doesn't care about him - for example: One scene, she asked him for his shirt to dry off some crabs. He gives her his shirt. She uses the shirt, then starts walking towards the party, he says "I have no shirt on". She says "I know". And continues to walk to the house. She left him shirtless, didn't even care he was going to a party she planned without a shirt, it was her friend Clemmie who recognized Peter's discomfort and told her husband to give his shirt to Peter and he can just wear his jacket. That is just one example, of her thoughtlessness. I can provide more examples, but it will provide spoilers.
The mystery itself was good. Storyline is good. Dialog is good. The author is a great storyteller. I don't know what happened to the main character.
Thank you for Netgalley and Kensington Books for an advance reader's copy. The views expressed are mine.

15 Minutes of Flame by Christin Brecher is the 3rd book in the Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery, and another great addition. Stella Wright owns a candle store, Wick & Flame, that specializes in unique design and scented candles. I love Halloween themed book, and this one is no exception. The town is having it's annual Halloween fundraiser, when Stella finds the skeleton of a Quaker women wrapped in blood-soaked clothes, she is determined to find out what really happened to her.. This book is a quick read with a well developed plot and characters. I enjoyed the twists and turns around every corner. I really love this series, and this book, and they seem to get better and better. I can't wait for the and next book in the series. I highly recommend this series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I had not read the previous books in this series and maybe if I had I would have had a bit more of a connection to the town and characters. One of the reasons I requested this was because I like Halloween themed cozy mysteries and I have never read a series based on a candlemaker. The Halloween aspect was ok but I was disappointed there wasn't more information on candle making. One of the things that I often like in these types of books is if the heroine has a skill set that is unique or interesting I want to hear about it! I would maybe try other books by this author but I probably won't be going out of my way to get them.

I absolutely LOVED this. The wonderful setting and engaging characters continue from the previous books in the series, but the added extra "cozy plus" aspects of history really put this one over the top for me. I really hope Brecher can continue this series. I'm hooked!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this book!

Oh I did like this one! Combining the much older mystery with what was happening in present day worked really well, because ultimately we wanted to know what happened in both, and how they were tied together. So many people had secrets or seemed to be up to dodgy things that there was no shortage of red herrings and suspects in the case. Putting it all together really was hard work but we got there in the end for a satisfying mystery!

Sucha unique setting and theme, I also like the more art based books as well. Candle making is such an interesting thing too, and makes for some cute titles in this series. Five stars!

The Nantucket Candle Maker Series is fantastic and the third installment, 15 Minutes of Flame, does not disappoint.

Stella Wright, owner of candle store Wick and Flame, is helping the local girl scout troop with their fundraising helping Nantucket's neediest. The setting is an old family home whose owner has given permission to use the home for the fundraiser. While helping the scouts, Stella discovers a skeleton hidden behind a chimney in an old building on the property. This discovery is connected to a century-old mystery involving a suicide, murder, robbery, and buried treasure. When professionals are brought in to excavate the skeleton, and shortly thereafter one ends up dead, Stella and her friends are quickly pulled into solving the modern-day as well as century-old murder.

The characters are well developed, well-described and very likeable -- you quickly want to get involved and help them solve the murder! The author has done a great job weaving the historical with the present murder, while exploring Stella's relationship with her boyfriend, friends and daily life. Adding to the engrossing mystery are the bits of Nantucket history woven into the story, which only makes the book better. Not only is this a great cozy mystery, but it teaches the reader something as well!

I highly recommend this series!

An absolutely fantastic addition to the series.
The murder mystery (current and the one from a century ago) kept me hooked onto the story until the end. The writing is absolutely brilliant and Christin has done some research work too - the Candle Clocks and much more.
Fantastic storytelling, quirky characters (Stella and Tinker) and a murder mystery to keep you on your toes. Highly recommended!

When the main character always seems to find a body every two weeks or so, I would question if she was the murderer rather than the protagonist. It sounded like she was having fun finding these bodies rather than being horrified that she keeps finding dead people every two weeks...? I'm confused.

Thank you, Kensington Books, and NetGalley for an advanced review copy of this book.

I love a fun, cozy mystery, and that’s exactly what this book is, and it’s at just the right time as we approach autumn and Halloween. Stella, the Wick and Flame candle shop owner, is helping a local Girls Scouts troop raise funds by hosting a haunted house tour. They have just the right place for the festivities and do a great job of building some momentum around the idea that the house is actually haunted. But their fun attempts to stir up talk that the house is haunted becomes realistic when Stella discovers a human skeleton. The discovery of a hundred-year-old skeleton leads to many questions, suspicions, and several interested people come out of the woodwork to be involved in resolving the mystery of whose skeleton it is and how it got in that buried in that wall? As Stella, Andy, the local police, and a cast of characters search for answers, they find themselves in the midst of a present-day murder mystery.
I really enjoyed this book because the plot kept me guessing to the end. So many exciting plot turns and red herrings. Even as I approached the final chapters, I still was not sure who did it!
This is my first time reading a book Christin Brecher, and it is the third book in the Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery series. I do not feel like I needed to read the first two in the series to enjoy the third, but I plan to read the first two now because I enjoyed this one so much!
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity!

This is becoming a favorite series and on the whole, I really like Stella. A couple of instances where I found her doing silly things without thinking them through, but she does have style. She's not stupid this one, and I don't have to wonder why she found out things that her policeman friend didn't. Speaking of, I like Andy. I like her friendship with him, but I hope it stays that. It's not that I care for Peter, but for once let the cop be your friend.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.

15 Minutes of Flame is the 3rd book in Brecher's Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery series. Now, I have not read books 1 and 2, so requesting this one broke a cardinal rule of mine. But that cover! It spoke to my autumn-loving heart and I just had to read it! And I'm thrilled to say that I enjoyed it thoroughly! It may have taken me a minute to find my footing and get to know the characters, but once I did I felt totally immersed in the story. And what a story!

First, the setting of Nantucket was completely wonderful. I cannot wait to go back there! I loved the history and traditions and folklore of the island, and the small town feel. The time of year - the weeks leading up to Halloween - made for a totally atmospheric mystery setting. The characters were wonderful, too. I loved our MC, Stella, and her cute reporter boyfriend Peter. I also loved the Candleers, Stella's bestie Emily, police officer Andy, and the slew of suspects! The mystery was so interesting because it combined a historical mystery/death with present day murder. I loved the historical aspects!

Such a fun and compelling book, and I definitely plan to go back and read the first two books, as well as all the come next! Definitely recommend for cozy mystery lovers!

This was an awesome Halloween story! Sometimes in books it's hard for me to really get into the historical mystery that exists, but I found myself really intrigued and interested to find the outcome. Stella and Peter were in a good place, but he seemed distracted during the case and didn't help quite as much as Stella would have hoped. He had a good reason which was revealed at the end, but Stella was able to help Andy even more than usual which I think may have gotten Andy a little more interested in her than longtime childhood friend. I really hope a triangle doesn't start in full force. For the second time in a cozy, I like both guys equally and would feel bad rooting for either.

I loved the gathering of suspects type showdown and how in some way, the skeleton of the Quaker woman that Stella found got to help take down the killer (not literally, no worries about spookies if that's not your thing.) The setting of the Morton House and the little shack was so perfect for the Halloween event they planned. It was nice and eerie at times but only in an explainable way. This has quickly become one of my favorite series, and I'm very anxious now to read the next book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley, and my opinions are my own.

An excellent addition to this excellent series.
I was happy to meet again the well thought characters, to travel to the Nantucket and to be kept guessing till the end.
The mystery is solid and the plot well crafted.
Highly recommended.

This is the 3rd book of the series and the best to date. The storyline was interesting and full of history and the characters engaging. The character development is great in this series. It was fun to read a Halloween in Nantucket book on a 100° day in Illinois. I highly recommend this book and series.

Fun Cozy Mystery series featuring Stella Wright, candle shop owner...and amateur sleuth. When she finds a 100 year old skeleton hidden behind a wall, Stella is determined to figure out what happened...and if it has any ties to the present.

With its intriguing and clever mystery and fascinating characters, this book held my attention and kept me guessing until the end.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.

This is book 3 in this series. I enjoyed it so much, I have now purchased book 1 and I’m sure I’ll be adding book 2 to my kindle also. I loved the story and the characters. I would love to visit the Nantucket area someday. This book has some of my favorite things in it, old houses, girl scouts, quirky folks, candles, Halloween and people looking out for each other. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

15 Minutes of Flame is the third book in the Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery series by author Christin Brecher. I have been a fan of this series since the beginning and I'm happy to say that the series seems to get better and better as it goes on. This book is centered around the upcoming Halloween holiday and Stella has volunteered to help a local Girl Scout troop with their annual Halloween fundraiser. Her friend has inherited an abandoned home in Nantucket and Stella thinks this home will be the perfect place to host the town's annual fundraiser. While at the house, she stumbles across a dilapidated shack in the backyard (which apparently used to be a candle shop), and while investigating inside the shack, Stella discovers a skeleton of a Quaker woman. Authorities believe that the skeleton is over one hundred years old but Stella is extremely curious about why the woman was buried inside the shack's walls.

I loved how the author was able to weave the historical mystery into a present day mystery. The key to solving the present day mystery lies in solving the historical mystery and I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who dunnit. The Nantucket history that the author weaves into her stories is fascinating and I especially love all the tidbits and descriptions of Nantucket. Reading these books definitely makes me want to visit Nantucket one day. I also really enjoy the characters in this series, especially Stella. You can already see the growth that she has made from book 1 to book 3 and I have become very invested in what happens to her. I loved how everything was tied together with the historical and present day mysteries and thought this book was an excellent addition to the series. I can't wait to continue on with this series and find out what's next for Stella.

My thanks to the author, Kensington books, and NetGalley for an ARC. The opinions expressed in this review are my own
