I have read ACOTAR so many times and this is one of my favorite series to reread. This book is perfect for anyone who loves fantasy/romance. Sarah J. Maas does a wonderful job with world-building, creating characters that are realistic and show a lot of character development, and creating a story that pulls you right in. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

**I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
A retelling of Beauty and the Beast + faeries? Count me in!
Feyre’s family has faced a lot of hardships after the death of her mother, leaving Feyre to provide food and necessities to her father and two sisters. One day, as Feyre is hunting, she kills a wolf, who was actually a faerie in disguise. In retribution, Feyre is forced to live in the fae lands, and soon finds herself softening toward her captor and working to break a curse on his Court.
There was so much that I loved about this book. I admired Feyre as a character and liked the premise of the book and the world Maas created. I also liked Tamlin, and his friend, Lucien, and even Rhysand, who is a nemesis of Tamlin. The curse on the land and the variety of different faeries you learn about are very intriguing. I do think Feyre went from an ingrained hatred of the fae to having feelings for Tamlin fairly quickly. It was also hard for me to believe how little Tamlin fought for Feyre. I just don’t find it believable that someone with his temper and bestial side would be so calm and just look the other way when she is mistreated in the Under the Mountain portion of the story. (Edward from Twilight would never let Bella be treated like that, haha!)
Those criticisms aside, I loved reading this story and it left me wanting more. If you enjoy fantasy and fairy tales, this is a book you should read!

I really loved this book. The world is elaborate and the characters are captivating. I can't wait to read more. (Which I see I can, so yay!)
I'm a bit confused by the cover, because I expected more of an Asian flavor, which was not at all evident (not that I am complaining, it didn't need it, just a little misleading.) Truthfully I liked it much better than the cover (but not my friends) would lead me to believe. Way more up my alley.
Highly recommend.

I’ve read the ACOTAR series recently and enjoyed it a lot. The new covers are just beautiful to look at.

I have to admit that I almost stopped reading this book but I’m SO glad I stuck with it. The first half of the story dragged a bit as the world of Prythian is introduced. It begins with Feyre living in poverty while taking care of her father and sisters until one day she unknowingly kills a fairy disguised as a wolf. As punishment, she is taken north to live with Tamlin, a High Lord of Prythian, in a beautiful hillside manor. Around the mid point in the book, the story really takes off. The relationship between Feyre and Tamlin is incredibly steamy as tension between them builds and the plot becomes extremely engaging when the truth behind Feyre’s punishment is finally revealed. I loved the plot, the world of Prythian, and especially the character of Feyre. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series!

Let me first say I normally do not like science fiction/fantasy books. I have always had a hard time visualizing what I am reading. However, with this book I felt like I was in the story and Feyre and I were going on an adventure. It has fae, hot guy fey and an evil enemy; what more could you want? I love this book and I am going to look forward to reading the next book in this series. Sarah J. Maas, I think you have converted me to a science fiction/fantasy reader. Thank you...

Thank you to NetGalley and Bloomsbury Publishing for this Advanced Release Copy in exchange for my honest review. I know that there is a lot of hype surrounding this trilogy and that it has a cult following but I didn't get it. The sex scenes could rival those from 50 shades of grey but otherwise it was slow, boring and very predictable.

This was my very first Maas read and I loved every minute of it! She is an outstanding world builder! The locations and characters drew me in immediately.
I don't typically read a lot of fantasy. This was beautiful and gripping. I feel like this is the fantasy novel for people who don't think they like this genre.
Give me more Maas!

This was my first Sarah J. Maas book and boy did I pick a good one! Normally I have issues with fairy tale retellings because they are too similar to the original fairy tale itself to keep my interest. This book blew away every doubt and expectation I had and left me wanting more! I immediately bought the next book, A Court of Mist and Fury to experience even further enjoyment.
Back to this book, though. I liked the relationship between Feyre and Tamlin and the trials that Feyre must complete to relieve Tamlin of the curse on his court. The ending was action packed and thrilling. Maas uses very intricate and descriptive vocabulary yet not in a way that overwhelms or bores the reader. I felt my mind constantly turning with what was going to happen and how I felt about a character one moment versus another. This leans slightly more toward "adult-young adult" with the sexual interactions but I didn't find it over the top. This is a book that always headlines my recommendations when someone is looking for a new YA Fantasy to pick up.

Thank you Netgalley and Bloomsbury for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have read this series too many time to count, but with the re release as an adult series, I re read this copy! I am excited to see the new covers that have been designed, but am partial to the originals.
If you haven’t read a Mass book, be prepared to be taken for a ride that you will love. She is the Masster of character development, as well as incredibly talented at portraying universes and lands that come all from her head.
The first book, without taking into account the others in the series— I would be happy to read again and again and again and feel like I wasn’t missing anything. A couple changes to the end, and it would be a complete package. IN THE FIRST BOOK.
But when you add the rest of the series, and the new ones that will be coming back next year- as I read I just wanted to fast forward to what I knew was coming next. For those Mass fans who have read the rest of the series, you know what I mean....

A bit of beauty and the beast, but with fae being the beasts. I think the main character gave her love away too freely to the fae guy for the sacrifices it called for. But the book is in line with the author's kick-ass girl, which is always a plus in my book.

Sarah J. Maas is an author whose work is confidently engaging. I love this use of fantasy and characterization, and I see great possibilities in this book for captivating young readers. The blend of voice, fantasy world, and real-life emotion and situation is well balanced. Get this book in the hands of young adult readers!

One of my favorite series. This book is a quick read. The characters are vibrant and well-developed. Feyre is not your average heroine.

After 3rd re-read, is still my number one fantasy book ever!
Feyre story is one that all teenagers must read - all 3 books!
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!

For the first time ever, I feel annoyed at having to write a review, because it means that this is taking up time that could be better spent reading the next book in the series.
Did I expect to be up all night reading this book? No. Did I want to be up all night reading this book? No. Did I love this book? Yes. Am I now really tired and dreading work today? Yes.
For those of you who, like me, are super behind and have yet to read this book, it loosely follows a Beauty and the Beast re-telling, but becomes much more. Feyre, a Human girl, kills a Fae shifter in the forest to help feed her family. Unbeknownst to her, a treaty states that for taking a life of a fae she must offer her life in its place at the Fae court.
There are a lot of well worn ideas a play here, like the Season courts, Fae lore about lying etc. But Maas is such as fantastic writer that she creates a world that feels new and exciting. I loved that the trials didn't drag on for longer than necessary and it was consistently paced throughout. I just wish Tamlin would have been a bit more, for lack of better term, "beastly".
My one disappointment is that as the books have been around or such a long time now, I have seen many spoilers for the rest of the series (sad face) but I'm trying not to let that put me off even though it has taken some of the excitement away.
Now to start A Court of Mist and Fury...

Why didn't I read this before??? Well, ever since Fifty Shades I'm a bit hesitant to pick up 'hype' books, because they tend to disappoint me. But since I couldn't contain my curiosity, I picked up my first Sarah J. Maas book. And I have been missing out!
What a wonderful, gripping story. And although some say it is a re-telling of Beauty and the Beast - it certainly has some elements in it - but I think it is a story on its own. Feyre is hunting to keep her sisters and father alive. When she kills a giant wolf, it turns out to be a fairy. She is then punished, by being forced to live in the faerie world. At court she learns about the faerie world and the different types of faeries and the different Courts. Slowly she discovers the history behind all the faeries she meet. And although she has always hated faeries, because of the cruelty they have shown in her own world, she now realizes that not all faeries are bad.
With dangerous and scary creatures, strange conversations and a weird attraction to the high faerie ruling the Summer Court, Feyre tries to find a way to run away. But maybe running away is even more dangerous than staying and trying to help the Summer Court release them from a strange curse, which keeps them masked all the time. A gripping tale, with a cliffhanger and a lot of drama and suspense. Loved it! Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

What can I say? I absolutely loved this book! It’s still extremely fresh in my mind and I haven’t had the time to fully process these are my initial thoughts.
Though it was a little predictable and resembled Beauty and The Beast in many ways. I couldn’t help but enjoy every page.
The first half is a little slow when they are building the relationship between them. That being said you are given plenty of world building and it gives all of the characters more depth.
I love the relationships between all the characters. I’m curious to know more about all of them even the side characters.
I recommend this to everyone who loves fairies, who loves beauty and the beast, who loves enemy to lovers. This book delivers it all.

What a wonderful book, I’ve ordered the rest of the series! This is such a highly recommended and popular book and it’s easy to see why. I was so hesitant to read it because I’m not big into fantasy but wow this changed my mind!

This was a reread for me but I loved it just as much as the first time I read it! The characters in this book and series all together are some of the most realistic characters I’ve ever read about. I feel as if I’m in the friend groups in this book. Can’t wait to reread the rest of the series!

My thoughts
Would I recommend it? Yes
Would I read more of this series? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Yes , in fact this is the second book by this author I've read .
I've been hear about this book ever since it came out and how some like it and others didn't care for it but I still wanted to read it and I'm so glad that I went to NetGalley when I did and found out that it was on there as a read now because other it might have been a while longer before I picked it up.Plus I always seem to have trouble getting in fairy tales retellings but for some unknown reason I didn't have that trouble at all,in fact once I started reading i didn't waiting to stop. The only trouble I had with the story was the main character herself Feyre , for most of the story I can't stand her at all. But the more I read the more i started to like her, now the question is did she become a favorite of mine and the answer is no , but I do like her. as for my favorites one of them was and is Tamil. As for the book it story itself here is what i thought :The characters and their development was spot on, there was none stop action from the very start to the very end, world and setting of this book was described perfectly and in a way that I could visualize everything, and made me feel like I actually want to there and visit. With that said I want to thank NetGalley For letting me read and review it .
