A little too over the place and with nothing really happening, sadly... Harkens back to the early days of chick-lit circa the early 2000s when this type of tale was all the rage as chick lit stories - character's life with seemingly no plot. Can be read as a nostalgia read for that period, but it's just not a hit nowadays with the lack of plot going on throughout

This title seemed like it would be right up my alley, but it just fell flat for me. I can see where others will love it, but I just couldn't get into it.

I was rooting for Allison from the first page as she was such a relatable character who bounced back from losing a job, jilted by a fiancé for her maid of honor to finding love and happiness. Such a feel good book which I highly recommend.

Fun, heartwarming and great read. All of them that I find in a great book. Liked all of this book. I was invested in this couple.

I didn't expect to love this book so much! It was easy to read, I loved the plot line and I was rooting for the heroine. Do yourself a favor and read this book.

Cute little romcom that was easy to read but nothing that would linger too long after finishing. Could have used a little more fleshing out of the romance aspect at the end but as the book was more about self discovery it’s understandable that this took a back seat.

A real page turner that you will devore in one day. Alison is a beautifully written character that you will attach to and you will cry, you will laught and sometimes you will just smile because this story is so heart warming that you will cannot leave this book behind and you will just keep reading it to the end.

Charming Falls Apart was a cute, classic rom-com. The story did feel a bit cliche, which happens so often in the Chick-Lit genre, but the overall premise captured me. The narrative flowed well and I enjoyed Allison's character. You felt her pain and you rejoiced in her wins. With all of that said, unfortunately the story itself didn't wholly capture my attention. Some of the side characters were a bit boring and very cliche. I do think it was a fun, light read and would still recommend even though it wasn't fully for me.

A bit too cliche for my taste. I ended up not finishing half way through and that’s not the books fault but I just wasn’t feeling it. It’s an easy read but I didn’t care too much for the characters unfortunately. I think a lot of other people will still love this one!

This was not a winner for me. I found the main character absolutely frustrating and the side characters too flat to really understand. It was hard to slog through.

I enjoyed this story, filled with insight and optimism. When Allison Jones gets fired from her job,the same day her fiancée calls off their wedding, Allison falls into a depression. While trying to figure out what went wrong, she starts to read a variety of self help books which help her put her situation in perspective. With a few setbacks, Allison moves forward, with the help of her best friend, Jordan. Recommended for a pleasant and hopeful story. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Eat Pray Love Millenial style is how I would describe Allison's journey. I really enjoyed all of the pop culture references, and how Allison found herself after heartbreak and betrayal. I was on team Allison the entire book and really wanted things to work out for her. If you are looking for a book that will make you extremely happy and feeling good after you finish it then this is your book.

I really enjoyed Allison & Eric’s book. I loved watching Allison go on this journey and unexpectedly find Eric.
Angela Terry is a new author to me and I would definitely read more of her books in the future.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the free book in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book so much! I really related to Allison as a 30something who was in a relationship that wasn't meant to be for too long and as someone who's kind of at a standstill in her career. I also went to college in Chicago, so I love reading books set in Chicago. She mentioned some awesome bars and restaurants that I highly recommend. A couple of the twists I could see coming but overall laughed out loud a lot during this book and it was fun. Also, loved the mention of Real Men Love Bitches, it's a real book that can be an eyeopener for those of us who have had some crappy relationships and wonder why. I would definitely read more of this author's work!

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC of this book!! I loved it! Allie has everything together- great job, great fiancé, perfect apartment- until she doesn’t. All in one day she is fired from her PR job and then comes home to her fiancé dumping her right before their wedding to get with her maid of honor! At a total loss for what to do, she decides to get back to the old Allie before she put her fiancé before what she wanted. In a tale to find herself and her purpose in life, Allie meets new people, rediscovers old friends and tries to connect with her critical mother. This book is the perfect chick lit book for anyone who had ever lost themself in a relationship, been dumped or had a controlling mom! I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Allison is 35 years old, she has a good job and after five years living together, is going to get married to her fiance in barely three weeks. But then one day, not different from others at the beginning, it turns out to be a turning point. First, she is fired from her job. And just when she needs her fiance's support the most, he decides to let her go too. And the icing on the cake is that the third wheel involved in the breaking up is one of her maids of honor.
Until then, the story sounds sort of a cliche. Will Allison recover from this tragedy? Will she be able to get some of her life back? It's then, when the author 's magical touch upgrades this book into a very interesting trip.
The characters are beautifully developed and the pace is perfect. It was such a nice read!
It's my first book from this author and it will not be the last.
Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was exhilarating and confusing for me. The only thing I was clear about was the journey of self discovery that the main character went through. And the fact that this was the book which made it easy for me to get out of my reading slump. Starting with Allison, I really loved how her character developed throughout the book. While the book did start with a tragedy, I am so happy that the major focus of it wasn't Romance. Honestly, that was a big relief for me because at the end of the day in a lot of romantic comedy it comes down to romance and not self discovery. So many plus points for that!!
So I'll give a brief description - Allison loses her job one day before her 35th birthday because of false rumors. Moreover, her fiance confesses that he's in love with her maid of honor when only a month is left for the wedding. Suddenly her life collapses around her and she doesn't know anything anymore. With the help of her friend Jordan, the self help book aisle at Barnes and Noble and the coffee shop owner, Eric, she's able to find herself again and the illusion that she had of having a perfect life before clears more and more.
Now here's the thing, the book was really good. I absolutely loved how Allison slowly understood herself better and how she didn't lose hope at all. It was all very like Eat Pray Love, with her journeying through different levels of self discovery and understanding. The only problem, not exactly a problem but more like situation, that I had was the sudden surge towards the end. Starting from the trip to Costa Rica, everything was happening very quickly and to be honest, I was really liking the previous slow pace of the book. And there's one more thing - this book made me think a lot. Like a lot, lot. I mean I'll need two times my age to actually have a midlife crisis but it still made me question a lot of things around me. It was quite an experience!

Charming Falls Apart is your classic romance book.
The story was a bit a cliche, which happens many time in books of this genre, but the premise seemed good enough for me and made me want to read this book.
Unfortunately I didn’t really felt it, although the narrative flow well and the writing was good, the story wasn’t interesting enough and after some chapters became a little boring an ripetitive.
I struggled to connect with most of the characters, also because many as I said were too cliche.
2.5

This story starts with 35 year old Alison getting fired and then coming home to her fiancé telling her that he is leaving her… for her maid of honor. Strong start, right?! It immediately sucked me in and I couldn’t stop turning the pages to see how Alison was going to cope with all of this. She had a strong support system in her best friend, Jordan, and I absolutely adored reading about their friendship. Y’all know I’m a sucker for a strong female friendship. There’s also some Eat, Pray, Love vibes as Alison tries to find herself and what she wants her future to look like now that it’s suddenly a blank slate and she can start over however she pleases. Any contemporary romance lover or *cringes describing the genre this way* chick lit lover will want to pick this one immediately.

This book was absolutely charming (no pun intended)! This story about life being turned upside down unexpectedly and having to deal with shock, heartbreak, finding yourself, and new beginnings was so relatable for anyone who's experienced an unanticipated or upsetting life change and has had to reevaluate what matters to them in life.
I loved the dynamics between the characters in this book - Allison and Jordan's friendship was so supportive and funny, while Allison and Eric's banter, his kindness, and the growing connection between them was so enjoyable to watch. I love the plot line about the self-help books Allison discovers to help her understand what's happened in her life and what she needs going forward. As an avid bookstore browser myself who understands the power of finding the right book at the right time, I loved the scenes in Barnes & Noble and her thoughts as she processed her books!
This book felt like a close friend, it was easy to read and get swept up in the story and you laughed along and got angry on Allison's behalf and cheered as she created a new life for herself. Thank you to Girl Friday Productions, SparkPress, and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.
