I appreciate the publisher allowing me to read this book. An interesting and well written story I can't wait to read more about.

i really enjoyed reading this, this was a great true crime book. It was a case that I had never heard of before. I look forward to more from the author.

I found this book really fascinating, I enjoyed not just the odd mystery of what happened but the bit of insight into Norris's research process, I don't know that I've ever read a book that gave a peek into how much work goes into finding the story. It was well paced and interesting all the way through.

I don't know how or why but I found this to be one of the slowest - going and least interesting books about a fascinating mystery that I've ever encountered... I just could NOT get into this one, despite significant interest in the underlying subject matter. I knew of the mystery of Loewenstein's death prior to the book - it's why I requested it. It opened alright, jumping straight into things, but then meandered around in a way that just never grabbed and held my attention. I tried coming back to it a handful of times, and even tried skimming a bit to see if I just kept getting stuck in rough sections, but unfortunately just never found my way into this one and ultimately didn't finish...

I had heard of Alfred Loewenstein and his absurd death since many a true-crime podcast likes to mention it every once in awhile, but I didn't actually KNOW about his death before reading this book.

Loewenstein, so the original myth goes, had either accidentally stepped off his plane or purposefully jumped to his death. As someone who has only boarded modern planes, the fact that someone would open up a plane door mid-flight seemed ridiculous to me, but since I know nothing of old planes I just assumed it could be possible. Here to quell the debate, or at least shed some light on it, William Norris's book. It is clear in every chapter that Mr Norris has done a lot of research. Every question I had whilst reading, was mirrored by the writer and subsequently answered. In the end, he has managed to stitch the research all together into a suspenseful tale that makes you excited for the actual conclusion.

I was not at all familiar with the subject of this book but nevertheless found it a fascinating read. The author clearly put a lot of passion into research and brought the era to life. At times the detail was a bit heavy going and made for slow progress but overall a really interesting read.

A very interesting and well researched book, I found this story fascinating.
The lengths the author went to in order to find the truth is astounding.
A really good read!
