I completely adored the Return of the Blackwell Brothers series by these authors and was beyond thrilled to find out they were back with 'The Blackwell Sisters". You don't have to have read the first series to enjoy this one, but if you have you'll love getting to visit with the Blackwell brothers & their happily-ever-afters again too.

In the first series I basically wanted to jerk a knot in Big E the whole time, so I enjoyed the better behaved version of him in this new series. This is not to say, however, that he's done causing trouble. Oh no, he's still meddling where he probably shouldn't meddle but at least this time his motives are from a better place. His tracking down the son he never knew he had provides the overarching framework for the series, and the emotional turmoil from this quest is seen even more sharply in the reactions of each of Big E's newfound granddaughters, all but one of whom was just as much in the dark as Big E had been.

What better way to kick off a series like this than with a runaway bride, an ancient motor home, and a cowboy on a mission. Montana Welcome is a delightful mix of barely controlled chaos and sizzling romantic chemistry. Curtis does a fabulous job setting up the premise of the series, the sisters, and their family dynamics - all while making readers fall just as much in love with Conner as Lily does. Both main characters are well-layered, with unique complexities to their lives and to a potential relationship. And boy howdy do they have sparks between them!

Bottom Line: Readers will love Conner and Lily from the moment they are rather unconventionally thrown together by Big E, and fans of the first series will also enjoy getting to revisit Big E's Montana ranch and the Blackwell grandsons. Montana Welcome lays a solid foundation for this new series, and readers will be intrigued by each Harrison/Blackwell sister - as well as the mystery surrounding their biological father. An unexpected favorite secondary character for me was Rudy Harrison, the only dad all but 1 of the girls have ever known, and I'm so glad these authors have made him the kind of character he is - and given him a solid role in the series too. A great start to a great series!

I loved the Return of the Blackwell Brothers, a series written by five amazing authors and was excited to hear that they had teamed up again for a new series. Enter five young women, who did not even know they were Blackwells. Their father, their biological father, was the illegitimate son of Big E, Elias Blackwell and he is determined to bring them into the fold. This is the first book in the series and I love how it starts out.

MONTANA WELCOME is the story of Lily Harrison (Blackwell). She is supposed to get married to her best friend since childhood, but overhears him tell her dad that he doesn't want to go through with it. Talk about perfect timing, because Big E shows up at that moment with Connor Hannah, one of his ranch hands. Lily hops in their motorhome and she and Connor head off to Vegas to pick up a couple more passengers before heading off to Montana. During their trip, both Lily and Connor do some self-reflection and ponder what they really want out of life. They get to know each other and their insecurities. Add in Pepper, Big E's step-granddaughter and her best friend and you also have some humor, Woop, woop. The characters are quite well developed and relatable. They both have some baggage to deal with and decide if they are willing to take the plunge to get over what is holding them back from following their dreams. The dialogue is snappy, the action ratchets up at times (think a motorhome being chased by a group of motorcycles) and their are some sweet moments. I enjoyed this story and am looking forward to reading about Lily's four sisters as they find their way into their new life as Blackwells.

Delightfully sweet insta-love and an intriguing series starter!

In this first book of the series, we’re introduced to all five of the Harrison girls as one of the middle girls is supposed to be getting married. Lily has lots of doubts about her marriage and more about her family, so she’s already decided to call of the wedding when her long-lost cowboy grandfather shows up with a handsome young cowboy at his side.

Conner is tasked with whisking Lily away to the Blackwell Ranch in Montana to give her some time and distance to sort out all the new information while her grandfather explains his new role in the family to her siblings and stepfather.

From here we have a hilarious road trip followed by a heartwarming introduction to the extensive Blackwell family. Throughout it all, the chemistry between Lily and Conner is undeniable and it was absolutely beautiful to watch these two overcome their own insecurities to find their forever together.

The writing was sparkling and quirky, and kept the story moving along quite nicely. There were more than a few moments of brilliant humor, but it never overshadowed the depth of emotions that drove the story forward.

I really loved both Conner and Lily’s characters. He’s charming but not at all cocky, and she’s just daring enough but ready to put her reckless years behind her. I loved the relationship he has with his mom and with the entire Blackwell family. I appreciated the way their partnership brought out the best in both Lily and Conner.

As the first in the series, this book definitely hooks you and leaves you wanting to read the rest of the stories for the other sisters, too. Conner and Lily do get a wonderfully satisfying HEA, while the mystery surrounding their parents continues to develop throughout the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Montana Welcome by Melinda Curtis is a sweet and satisfying HEA...with plenty of warmth and depth in its characters, this story leads you easily through the pages to a very satisfying and well crafted ending...yet leaving the door open for more stories in the Blackwell Sisters series.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
