I love Love Inspired books! Deb Kastner has proven to consistently write great stories and The Black Sheep's Salvation is another wonderful example.
Logan Maddox and Molly Winslow grew up as best friends who, by the time they graduated, had their future together all mapped out. The only glitch was that they were going to different universities. A huge blow-up fight before each left for college, and Logan was sure they'd broken up. His broken heart led him astray and into the arms of another girl. A mistake was made, she got pregnant, and suddenly Logan had a wife and son, and Molly had a shattered heart.
Now, back in town with his autistic son, Judah, Logan needs a fresh start. His faith took a beating but came back stronger than ever. When he realizes that his son's new teacher is none other than Molly who is an expert with special needs children, he's not sure iif she will want to work with his son if she knows who he belongs to. Molly on the other hand, has a ton of resentment for the way Logan walked away from their love, but she immediately puts those feelings on the back burner to help Judah. She adds a rescue dog into the mix and trains the puppy to help Judah with some of his issues. As they work together to bring about the best outcome for Judah, can they rekindle the love they once had?
Second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes, and I could see this one coming from a long way off! Logan still carries a torch for Molly, even after having been married. Losing his wife to death, and counseling with his pastor, helped him to see that, though he made a mistake, he stepped up to rectify it, and nothing is irredeemable. Logan had some of the best prayers and he wasn't afraid to stop wherever he was and pray for whoever needed it. Molly took a bit of convincing, but he had hurt her pretty badly.
Loved this one!

I enjoyed this sweet story of second chances and forgiveness. And I loved seeing a child with autism portrayed in a truthful light.

This was a pretty good book. The story was well paced. The main characters were really wonderful to follow on their journey. I hadn’t read this author before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was not disappointed!
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book

Logan Maddox has been a “prodigal son” and made some major mistakes in his life. After becoming a father, he returned to his faith and became a devoted husband and father. But after the tragic death of his wife, he returned to his hometown in order to find special education for his seven year old autistic son, Jonah. To his surprise, Jonah’s teacher is Logan’s ex-girlfriend, Molly. Molly and Logan set aside their personal differences to concentrate on Jonah’s needs, and in doing so, find that they still have feelings for each other. Molly especially has to decide if she can forgive Logan for past hurts and look to the future for the three of them to become a family.
Although Logan and Molly’s story was interesting, it was Jonah that lifted this story to another level for me. The author did a tender, heart-touching, and sensitive job with Jonah’s character, and I especially loved the relationship between Jonah and his service dog, Rufus. I was glad to see that there’s more to come in this series, and I’m hoping to see more of these characters.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

The woman whose heart he broke, might just be his son's best chance.
Heartwarming romance about love and second chances. I loved Molly and Logan's families, and how they interfere in their own ways, some encouraging and others discouraging. This is an enjoyable smalltown read, with a great sense of community and friendship.
Logan Maddox is returning to hometown, with his young son, Judah, but he never expected to have his son's teacher be his high school sweetheart, Molly Winslow. Logan is a wonderful father, he wants to do everything he can to help his autistic son succeed.
Molly is a gifted teacher and is working on a training her dog Rufus to be a service dog for people with autism. She is passionate about helping others, but the past is hard to forget, she's determined to do her bet for Logan's son, and I loved her patience and her willingness to help.
Overall, a enjoyable and entertaining read, sweet, with great characters and a heartwarming plot. I especially loved Judah and Rufus. Definitely recommend if you like heartwarming romance and second chances.
