Well I got my wish after reading Coffee Girl, i found out what happened to Sarah and Lex!
If possible, this book was better than the first one and had me laughing all the way through. I absolutely loved Mrs Ryan!
Again, I loved it was from both the main characters perspectives and both were strong characters. The story flowed well and I couldn’t put it down.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

This is a sequel to Coffee Girl, but you can absolutely read as a stand-alone and not be lost.
This read as more cheesy, Harlequin-type romance to me than Coffee Girl. It hiked up the steam factor a bit as well.
Sarah is a make-up artist for a hit country band and has her eyes on lead guitarist Lex for two years.
Lex is a bad boy- bringing home a new girl each night. He insists he doesn’t deserve a good girl. What is he running away from?
When the band tours his homeland of Ireland, Lex faces some old demons and may come home to more than just family....

It might sound like an exciting life -- being the makeup artist and hairstylist for one a hit-producing country music band, but as Sarah Bowen knows, it also means heartache. Especially when you've been pining after the band's sexy lead guitarist while you've toured with the band for the past two years. Lex Ryan may feel attracted to Sarah, but as he tells her, he doesn't do relationships. A betrayal in his past has convinced him that he can't trust women, and the depression he suffered after that betrayal--along with the alcohol and drug abuse--has convinced Lex that sweet Sarah deserves far better than he.

But the more time he spends around Sarah, the more he yearns to replace one-night stands with a real relationship. So he tells Sarah he is willing to give it a try, if she's willing to take a risk on him.

Their fledgling relationship is off to a wonderful start, until the band travels to Ireland for a series of concerts. That's when Lex discovers that the woman who betrayed him in the past--Alana--will be traveling with them, covering their concerts for her magazine. (She's now a journalist.) Of course, the presence of the beautiful and sophisticated Alana shakes Sarah's confidence in herself and in her relationship with Lex. How could he want her, Sarah, when he could have someone like Alana? Sarah knows that Alana broke Lex's heart in the past and wonders if he still has feelings for Alana. Will he succumb to memories and Alana's pleas to get back together?

Lex swears to Sarah that he has absolutely no interest in Alana and that she, Sarah, is his soulmate. But then Alana drops a bombshell that makes Lex believe he should quit the band and move back to Ireland. When Sarah tells him she has a business back in the U.S. and can't stay with him in Ireland, he lets her go.

But then something else happens, and Lex realizes he should not have trusted Alana. Now he's given up the band and lost Sarah forever...

Or has he?

I don't want to give away too much more, so I'll stop describing the plot here, but the story doesn't end at this point.

I really enjoyed this story. This is the second book I've read by Sinclair; just finished the prequel to this book, "Coffee Girl." Sinclair has a writing style that keeps you chuckling. Both books contained some interesting secondary characters, like Sarah's flamboyant gay friend TJ (who is hilarious!) This time, we're also joined by Lex's identical twin brother and Lex's typically Irish mother who coddles the band like they are all her sons.

My only criticism: I felt like Kiki, who was the main character in Coffee Girl, seemed a little childish and silly in this book. She was great in the last book, so I was disappointed that she seemed more immature in The Makeup Artist. But perhaps that's the way Sarah saw her, since the book is written from Sarah and Lex's points of view.

Even though rom-com's usually have a Happily Ever After, Sinclair has thrown enough twists and turns into this story to make you wonder if Lex and Sarah will ever get back together, and you'll find yourself cheering for them to do so.

Yes, I definitely recommend this book! Thank you to Netgalley for providing an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I recently just discovered this series. While I enjoyed this book it didn't offer me the same feelings of contentment that Coffee Girl did. I enjoyed Sarah and Lex but I found that Sarah tended to grate on my nerves with how emotional she was.

This was still an enjoyable read though that had a ton of feelings, angst, and discovery of love. I would recommend this author and series.

The Make up Artist - celebrity romance with just the right amount of drama and angst to make this a good read for me. I loved the Irish family in the story and there were plenty funny friendship moments in it too.

Loved this book and couldn't put it down, great love story with its ups and downs, picked this up following on from the equally great book Coffee Girl

Once again Sophie Sinclair’s writing had me hooked ❤️ The second book in the coffee girl series “The Makeup Artist”, is about sexy Lexy and Sunshine Sarah. We were introduced to Sarah and Lex in the first book of the series as KiKi & Tate’s best friends on tour with the band. We learned that Sarah and Lex have a complicated friendship/ relationship. Sarah has been in love with playboy, Irish, lead guitarist Sexy Lexy since she layed eyes on him. And he’s had his eye on her too, but didn’t do anything about it because of haunted past.

When I heard that this book was coming out shortly after I read Coffee Girl, I was beyond excited! I loved Sarah so much in the first book, that I couldn’t wait to learn more about her. & Lex was such a mysterious character I was excited to learn more about his backstory 😁 Sarah is every girls dream best friend. I mean she’s fun, honest, funny, and just awesome. But of course the good ones always fall for the badboy. Lex is this broken beautiful soul and I just loved him. I’ll be honest he made me a little frustrated at times but what bad boy doesn’t? I wanted to hug him and slap him. I loved the way he was with Sarah though. I loved their friendship and their relationship. I loved the way the characters grew to be what the other person needed ❤️ and of course the ending was just perfect 🙌🏻✨ Anyway I could go on and on about everything I loved but I don’t want to give too much away :)

4.5 ⭐️ for well developed story, characters, and steam. I think I may have liked the first book slightly more because I couldn’t get over Tatum. He just made me swoon 😍✨ but still really loved this one 😘

Ps I can’t wait for Kiki’s brothers story 😍😍 thank you for sending me an arc sophie!

4.5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

This is a well written book with great characters. I didn't read the first one, Coffee Girl, and that was okay as I had no trouble following this one as a standalone. With flashes of humor, angst and drama, it's a great read.

SEcond in this series and just as enjoyable, if not more so than the first. Following on with another band member, this time With Lex and the make up artist Sarah. This is a slow burn romance and very sweet.
I found this funny and moved along quickly enough too.
Definitely recommend for a HEA romance

I enjoyed the characters in this book. The author creates people and friendships that I like and believe in. Sarah and Lex‘s collide has been a long time coming. There were a couple of instances where I felt it didn’t seem like something the characters would do but they are flawed which I guess makes them even more real. Overall, I enjoyed this read and will read others by this author.

This is the perfect follow up book to Coffee Girl. Lex and Sarah, both featured in the first book as side characters, are the main leads in this story. Sarah had a huge crush on Lex in Coffee Girl but sadly it was unrequited, or so she thought…. Theirs is a complicated relationship and there are lots of twists and turns along the way. There is one plot twist in particular which had me reeling and wondering where on earth it would take them next.

All of the characters really find a way into your heart. Lex is a beautiful, but broken man with lots of issues and back history. Sarah is so sweet and caring and constantly smiling, hence her nickname, ‘Sunshine’. Some of the other characters from Coffee Girl are also present in this story and we also get to see a little insight into the progression of the relationship of Kiki and Tate. TJ is just as hilarious and the banter and antics between Sarah, Kiki and TJ are hysterical. There are some gorgeous moments, Lex singing “Ain’t no sunshine when you’re gone” to Sarah was so heart-wrenchingly beautiful and then there are the more humorous scenes such as the gummy bears one on the plane, which was laugh out loud moment.

I love this author’s writing style, it flows beautifully and is so easy to read. She really can bring characters to life and I fell in love with each and every one. She adds just the right balance of romance, drama and humour, sprinkled with a little bit of steaminess - basically encapsulating everything a romance reader wants to read. The epilogue is amazing, it’s so sweet and heartwarming. This is absolutely the perfect light, summer read.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the eARC of this book in exchange for an honest opinion.

I picked up this book as soon as I finished reading "Coffee Girl", and I couldn't believe this was only the second book for Sophie! How is that possible?

She captivated my heart with the way that Sarah and Lex continuously battled for one another's hearts. Sarah is that sweet friend you need in your life, your ride or die. Lex is the swoon-worthy and sexy man, with all the right word, that you can just get enough of. You will continuously be shouting for the Sarah and Sexy Lexy relationship to survive it all. So, will it?

You also get all the original "cast" from Coffee Girl, and you definitely don't want to miss out on all that fun!

rating: 4.5/5
I have to say, I liked this one even better than Coffee Girl. Sarah was the perfect female lead for this story, and Lex was the perfect bad boy lead. The two characters complemented each other perfectly - their banter and chemistry was off the charts, and I couldn't put this story down until the two got their HEA. And the side characters! TJ is one of my favorite characters I've read this year. Sophie had me legitimately laughing out loud while reading this novel.

I highly recommend for anyone who loves a steamy romance with a bad boy lead.

This story was all about drama!! If yiu love that-then read this book! This is the second book in the series. Sarah is finally ready to let Lex knows that she wants him. She has wanted him for the past two years. Lex on the other hand feels that he isn't good enough for her. As the group goes over to Europe to tour an old ex of Lex's is back on scene and causing all kinds of mischief. Mischief that definitely messes up sarah and Lex's budding love. Will these two be able to figure out things? I hope so. They are just adorable together.

After enjoying the first book in the series by Sophie Sinclair, I was eager to read the makeup artist. This book did not disappoint but it will not be on my “read again list”. This is the story between Sarah the bands makeup artist and Lex the broody hot musician. It spans over a few months but does give some background to when they first met.

There is a lot of indecisiveness, paternity tests, and drama. It seems they will never come around to each other as they’re very hot/cold throughout the novel. Eventually it comes to a positive end. If you enjoy whirlwind romances you may enjoy this

I enjoyed this fun, contemporary romance in the Coffee Girl series! The main character, Sarah, was so relatable (who hasn't fallen too hard for the bad boy?), and I totally fell for her love of Lex, the sexy Irish guitarist. Even though he was a player, his charm kept reeling her back in!

I also enjoyed the antics of Sarah's besties, Kiki and TJ, as we got to know them better in this second installment in the series. I hope they make a return in the next book, which I'm definitely planning to read!

My only complaint would be that Lex was kind of a taker in their relationship, and that never really changed. I wanted more from him; but (alas), we don't always get everything we want.

Overall, I'd recommend it to romance fans—particularly those looking for solid picks on KindleUnlimited!

Sweet and sexy:
Wow, another fabulous book by Sophie Sinclair. There is the perfect amount of drama, angst, passion and tenderness. Laugh out loud hilarity too and the banter between everyone, whilst often over-the-top, was great fun.
Lex is the consummate playboy and determined not to get emotionally invested with any woman after being hurt years prior. Sarah meanwhile has loved Lex from afar for years but he keeps pushing her away. Their journey was long, bumpy and further complicated by the presence of a clingy ex. I was overjoyed when things finally worked out for them!
This is book 2 in the Coffee series and whilst it could be read as a standalone, I'd highly recommend reading the first one too as it is amazing and it will give you greater insight into all of the characters. Even though Lex is a country music band member, this story was much more about relationships. Once again I just loved the epilogue and post epilogue; it was wonderful seeing where they ended up and I was so happy for everyone!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

I loved everything about this wonderful story!

One of my favorite tropes is the Grump and the Sunshine, and this delightful romance is one of the best! Lex is determined to protect his heart no matter whose bed he's in, while Sarah is going to find her happiness regardless of the obstacles. These two have chemistry for days, and I absolutely loved watching them together as they fell in love.

I haven't read the earlier book, so I can assure readers that while there may be interconnected characters, this story easily stands on its own. There's plenty of heat, plenty of heart, and lots and lots of humor throughout, leading to a very satisfying HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

The Makeup Artist :Coffee Book Book 2 is the second in a series, but works brilliantly as a standalone. It's deliciously gritty and sexy, with strong likable characters in live and work in world that fascinates us all. Sophie Sinclair really knows her stuff and this is a fantastic and really enjoyable read.

I loved Coffee Girl which is why I needed to read this book. It can be read as a stand-alone but characters from the first book are in this book. I would recommend reading the first one because jokes would be missed if you don’t.
Sarah and Lex were great together. I loved the chemistry between them. He was sweet and she was strong. They were adorable together. I needed more of them.
One problem I had was Kiki. I loved her in the first book, but not in this one. Seriously she was different person and a bit immature. And that surprised me. Another problem I had was that Lex couldn’t let go of the past. He let 10 years go by without going home? And lastly, some plots were predictable, such as the manipulative ex girlfriend.
Plus side, I loved Conner and his relationship. I needed more of that. The side characters were great! I also loved the epilogue. I’m looking forward to the next book.
