Honestly I did not care for this book, but I totally see the appeal to the target audience! I'm sure that my library will get copies and I'm sure that I will recommend the InvestiGators to others. It just wasn't for me. I will not post my opinion on Goodreads or retail sites because it just wasn't for me.

The InvestiGators series is absolutely delightful. As a mother of 2 elementary school boys, I can't tell you how much the entire family loved this book. There were so many times that I was laughing because of the puns in this book. Caution, there is a bit of potty humor. If that is a battle you are fighting in your house, this may not be the book for you. Overall, this book is just a lot of fun.

Great second book to this fun series! This series has quickly become popular among our library patrons and we can't wait for number three to come out soon!

My son loved this second book in the series, and is patiently waiting for book 3! It makes me so happy to see him find a series that he'll read again and again. This one is two gators that are detectives with silly situations and use a toilet to transport themselves. My son said there are funny characters and shares places where he giggles with me. The illustrations are color. Please share with readers who love DogMan or Cap't Underpants.

Cute. Lots of puns. Fans of “Captain Underpants” and “Big Nate” will enjoy this series. I wonder what will become of Crackerdile? I’ll have to read the next one to find out.

The InvestiGators are on the case to stop a robot that has been infected with a combination code and Crackerdile who is flooding the city for nefarious purposes.

This is a challenging case for the InvestiGators. They have all sorts of unpredictable things thrown at them. Kids and adults who read with them who love puns will want to run and find a copy of this. It is LOADED with puns and word play. I didn't find it quite as enchanting as the first book in the series, but it did keep me guessing how things would work out. Recommended for superhero type story fans, silly story fans, graphic novel fans, and mystery fans. (And Kitten Construction series fans, there’s a cameo appearance of some characters.) This is easy enough it could appeal to higher reading kids in lower grades, but also good for reluctant middle grade readers.

Notes on content: No language issues. No sexual content. The robot changes forms and for a while they think he is a ghost but it turns out there’s a less spooky more scientific answer for his form [he’s actually electrified mist (hide spoiler)].

I received an ARC of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Rating: 3⭐⭐⭐!!!!!!!!!

InvestiGators Take a Plunge is a cute graphic book. It is perfect for my 2nd and 3rd graders. They love graphic books right now and I will definitely be suggesting this book to them. I love the subtle and not so subtle jokes. I think they are so appropriate for students/kids ages 7-12.

I will definitely be adding this book to my classroom library. Also great for using when teaching kids about multiple meaning words as much of the humor is around word play. I know my readers are going to love this!

My son loves graphic novels. This is becoming one of his favorite series. I like that it is not full of crude or potty humor.

I received an electronic ARC from First Second Books through NetGalley.
The Gators are back and have to take on Brash's former partner, Daryl again. They also have to figure out how to save people from a robot whose code was corrupted. Plenty of humor as the partners handle both situations and manage to get almost everyone back to normal.
The colorful illustrations bring the characters and settings to life. The text is written for mid to upper elementary level readers. They will appreciate the humor and catch the jokes. The ending sets up the next book to come in the series.

This is a silly tale of mystery-solving alligators with spy technology and tons of one-liners. There is an ample amount of humor in this title, great for fans of Dog Man and Captain Underpants, but the silliness seems to be the main point, rather than the story itself.

Great 2nd book in the series. It was engaging and fun to read. I hope there are more planned in the future, it's the type of series that will get students hooked on reading.

Two clothes-wearing alligators named Mango and Brash investigate a rocket that goes off under the opera house in this parody of superhero comics and TV’s “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” The heroes go underground as sewer workers to find the villain Crackerdile when all toilets flood the city. Using brightly colored paneled artwork in a style very similar to Dav Pilkey’s “Dog Man” series, the text is set in dialogue balloons, and is filled with puns and other humorous asides that will appeal to a wide age range. The human characters reflect the diversity of the city and make this relatable to just about anyone. This is not particularly original or innovative, but it will certainly be popular and it achieves success in the jokes department.

This is one of those books that's really easy to recommend. I have many students who are obsessed with everything Dav Pilkey (that man must just sit at home and heat his house with bundles of hundred dollar bills!) While I am often asking 'how many times are you going to take out that Captain Underpants book?" The answer is always "as long as you will let me!" Finally, we have some new crime-solving critters to that we can add to our 741.5 group (I hope that is the right Dewey number or man am I going to hear it.)

I am sure once the InvestiGators start making the rounds of the Middle School Cognescenti, they will be as hard to keep on the shelf as that Dog-Guy! Kids will love this, its a no brainer, take these Alligators home.

I love graphic novels and younger grade books. The cover art on this series was engaging and I wanted to love these two crime fighting alligators. I really enjoyed the silly bathroom humor and I know my students would find that funny as well. The cartoons were moved the storyline along. As an educator, I am careful of what I recommend, because I know that by offering them a book, they're trusting my opinion, and if I give them a book they won't enjoy, I lose credibility. Overall, I found the characters to be somewhat underdeveloped and the story line disjointed at times. I wonder if a young reader might find the plot hard to follow with as much as they go through in a short amount of time. I would attempt to put this book in front of a few of my readers and ask their honest opinions on the book. I bet they will surprise me!

This was a cute graphic book sure to have students laughing and reading. John Patrick Green has another winner here.

Hilarious, as always. This book is just so random (I mean this in the best way) and it is a great second installment to the InvestiGators series. Great recommendation for reluctant readers and perfect for kids who love Dog Man!

I adore a good pun and InvestiGators makes great use of them throughout. Kids are going to enjoy this just as much, if not more than (more poop jokes), the first volume and want the next volume immediately.

Are you ready for a book that effortlessly combines mystery, humor, adventure, and a graphic novel all into one book? Investigators is it! Meet two alligator detectives who are on a mission to protect their world. Investigators has a whole crew of light hearted and "punny" animal and human characters. Their hilarious antics and actions keep this story entertaining. A great choice for fans of Dav Pilkey, especially young fans not quite ready for his longer works!
