Apparently, I will read absolutely anything Colleen Hoover writes, genre not important 😂 #paranormalromance - sure, why not?! I’ve never picked up a book in this genre before in my life, but CoHo wrote it 👏🏻 so I’m here for it 👏🏻
Did she deliver? YES SHE DID 😱 and pretty flawlessly I might add.
I’m just going to leave a rating instead of a full on review because I don’t want to give away to much. BUT I will say I owe Leeds an apology. You guys, I was so mad at him through a lot of the book and was silently yelling at him, but since I finished it I think we’ve made amends 🤣🤯
My rating is actually ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars
(she gets bonus points for writing out of her comfort zone)
I love that CoHo dabbles in this and is able to pull it off when she does. You can tell she has a lot of confidence in her writing and I love that she takes a risk 💞
Thank you netgalley and amazon publishing for my review copy in exchange for my honest opinion

I am not a paranormal romance reader. I gave this book a chance because it was CoHo's. I don't even know what to say about it or what I can without giving anything away. Reading it actually stressed me out. It felt more thriller than romance at times. Leeds and his dilemma made me mad. I didn't even know what to think about Layla. Their relationship was so cute at the beginning and then...paranormal popped in. I didn't like that until I finally got to the big surprise. I didn't see it coming until right before it happened. I honestly think I might have disliked this book if things hadn't gone down the way they did. In the end, it was a great read. It challenged me a bit. That's a good thing.

Such a great read, unique and original. It's like nothing else, so different from her other books, yet it's captivating and atmospheric. The book starts from when Leeds meets Layla. And we get glimpses throughout the book from the moment when they met and everything started to now .
I had so many questions about what was happening , I was anxious and wanted to read more and more.It was fast paced and I liked the writing a lot!
What a ride, the last chapters was the best, it was mind blowing.I highly recommend it if you are looking for something different from your normal reads.

Layla by CoHo, published by Montlake, is her first PNR romance and she nailed it.
Meet Layla and Leeds. Both meet and it's like fireworks, insta-love, soulmates. They're inseparable and just enjoy life and their love. But villain is never far.
I have to say I was intrigued by the blurb , but it took me a minute to get into the storyline. But then bam, I was so in the middle of all the twists and turns, they kept me in suspense til the last page.
A fantastic read, one of my favorite reads this year, outstanding and heartbreakingly beautiful; 5 stars.

When Layla and Leeds meet, they have some serious, immediate chemistry. Not much time has passed since that first night but things sure have gotten darker for our couple. I know I'm not telling you much here, but this is another one of those books that I think it's best to know as little as possible. All you really need to know is that it's Colleen Hoover and she's trying out paranormal romance this time.
As Leeds tells us the story of his whirlwind romance with Layla, things have taken a very strange turn in the present. The duel timelines kept me wondering what was actually happening. Every time I thought I had something figured out, I wasn't quite right. I spent most of the book thinking I probably hated Leeds, but now that I'm finished, I'm not really sure how I feel about him.
If you couldn't tell, I've kind of struggled to put my thoughts together on this book. I typically rate a book immediately after finishing but this time my thoughts changed the more I sat on it. Colleen Hoover has a way of writing that always draws me in. I usually feel so connected to the characters and think about them for a long time after. That wasn't really the case this time.
This was a fun ride full of twists and turns but not one that will stick with me. I still thoroughly enjoyed it as I was reading and I went through a whole range of emotions: smitten, scared, concerned, confused. If you love Colleen Hoover and want to see where her amazing mind has gone this time, obviously check it out.

I am not sure how to write a review about Layla without giving away any major spoiler…
I will just say that, besides all you’re expected to expect from the amazing Colleen Hoover, well…
Expect the unexpected!
The pace was spot on, choosing Leed’s POV was, after all, the best choice to tell us this story.
I have to be honest, and admit I reached a point in the book where I nearly despised one of the main characters, but of course, the reader really has no clue of what’s really going on until the last chapters.
So, my advice about the book:
Avoid any spoilers, just go with the blurb, and don’t try too hard to be smarter than the author!
It’s unexpected.
It’s heartbreaking.
It’s bittersweet.
It’s beautiful.
A must read.

I’m a die hard Colleen Hoover fan so i was extremely excited to receive this review copy! Thank you!! This book was very different from her other books. I would not say Verity different. But dare i say.. another realm different hahah! Anyways, i struggled in the beginning. Typically her books, i fly through. This one however took me a while to get into. I just didn’t have much feelings towards the characters. I didn’t grasp their closeness or their bond or feel for them in any way in the first half or so. And i had no idea what was going on, so it just dragged for awhile. The second half got much better and things started to come to light and things slowly started to come together. It started to make sense! I did end up enjoying the story. But i felt it lacked some depth to get me there in the beginning. There seemed to be things missing to glue me in. I think there needed to be more character development. More about them together and their love to help understand more.
I also wasn’t sure what to expect on the paranormal aspect. It was in fact paranormal. I guess i sort of expected spooky. But it wasn’t. Overall, i enjoyed it but it was lacking for me.

WOW!
I was nervous going into this book because of the paranormal element but Colleen Hoover is a queen and I will pick up anything she writes. The paranormal aspect worked for me, where normally its something I laugh at. I know I will be thinking of this book for months to come. I can't wait for everyone to get their hands on it so that I can discuss it more.

WOW JUST WOW!!!!!!!! I am not sure any review I write could do this amazing book justice!!! Let me start by saying I love Colleen Hoover and her books. This book is unlike any book I have ever read before. Leeds meets Layla while playing in a band at her sister's wedding. They have an immediate connection. When Leeds and Layla are attacked, Layla almost dies. She survives but Layla has changed since being hurt. Leeds takes Layla to the place where they fell in love, the bed and breakfast from her sister's wedding. There Leeds meets Willow. Can Leeds and Layla find their way back to each other? This book has so many twists and turns you must read quickly and if you put it down, it will remain first and foremost on your mind. This was an amazing book that I loved with my entire heart! I received an advanced readers copy and all opinions are my own.

This is the kind of paranormal romance I want to read!
I am truly speechless. Layla took me on such a wild ride, I'm REELING right now. This book kept me guessing throughout. Colleen Hoover, once again, writes a story we think we can figure out and then throws us for a loop.
As always, go in blind. Do not compare this to Verity because they're in totally different realms ;)

Omg I absolutely loved this book! Colleen Hoover is by far my favorite author So I was so excited to get a early copy of Layla to read and review. This story was so crazy and insane and it had me hooked from page one. The story was so twisted and I had so many OMG moments as I read this one. I definitely wasnt expecting a few parts in this book, which is a good thing! Thank you so much for this early copy. I really loved it and I cant wait for more paranormal books by colleen in the future!

Wow!!!! What did I just read? A romance, thriller, paranormal great book. Just so different from anything I’ve ever read and the something different I definitely needed. I have all Colleen Hoover’s books on my TBR List, but until now, have only read on (It Starts With Us) and loved it.
Leeds and Layla have instant chemistry when they meet and fall in love. Then tragedy strikes, and things seem to change slowly in the other direction. In an effort to see if things can return to their previous normal, Leeds takes Layla back to the place where they met. But, he isn’t prepared to meet Willow, who he is inexplicably drawn to. To reveal anything more, would be to possibly give away a hint of what is the best part of the book.
Ms. Hoover totally sucked me in from the first chapter with the lust of Leeds and Layla. Great characters that you will love. I totally had goosebumps as the story took a dramatic turn I could have never imagined, and was actually spooked out. Then it just kept sucking me down that rabbit hole till I finished it this morning. I kept asking so many questions of Leeds as he was going thru this, and Ms. Hoover revealed all in her own good time. The Interview part was NOT what I initially thought it was, what a slow burn! The only thing I would add is an Epilogue for 1 year after the ending of the story....because I HAVE to know more. If you are looking to get out of a reading rut, pick this book up, especially if it’s out of your normal genre. You won’t be disappointed. #bookhangover
Thanks to Ms. Hoover, Montlake Publishing and NetGalley for this ARC. Opinion is mine alone.

CoHo could write ANYTHING and I would read it. She is always an auto-buy author for me, and I’ve read almost all of her work and I’ve never been disappointed.
With that said...I went into Layla having no clue what to expect from a “paranormal romance.” I love romances, and even though I don’t read a lot of fantasy, I love shows about supernatural beings. If you also, love both of these, you should read Layla.
I don’t want to give too much away, but Leeds and Layla meet and have an instant connection. Some crazy things happen. There are some really sweet moments, some really crazy suspenseful moments, and some times where you may not be a huge fan of Leeds, but give him a chance.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is not my type of book at all but I have read and enjoyed some of Ms. hoovers other works, and it has such a high GR reads rating, so I asked for it on NetGalley. Even the NetGalley reviews were stellar and my GR friends gave it a four star average. Am I ever glad I took the risk as I enjoyed this SO much.
The romance in this novel was swoon worthy, not the steamy, sexy kind (although there is a bit of that was well) but the make your heart melt kind. Leeds and Layla have a romance for the ages that would make any couple envious and I so enjoyed taking this journey with them.
What I liked most was the fact that I thought I had everything worked out but Ms. Hoover throws in a twist that left me completely satisfied and I loved getting tricked by her.

Wild. Intense. Mind boggling. Only Colleen Hoover can write a mind trick like this novel. I'm here for it.
Thank you Netgalley and Montlake for a copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
This novel follows Leeds and Layla, an incredibly in love couple taking a trip to the bed and breakfast where they first met...but the reason that lead them to this place is not as happy as you'd think. After tragedy almost tore them apart permanently, Leeds decides to help Layla become the woman she used to be by bringing her to one of the happiest places they've known. When they arrive at the bed and breakfast, things get bizarre...and other life may be lurking in the shadows.
Y'all. Wow. I once read this novel is a mix of Verity and Ugly Love. Yes, the intense drama and creepy atmosphere/characters mirror Verity. The sexual intensity and love certainly rivals Ugly Love. But Layla takes on its own life and brand that adds to Hoover's impressive writing resume. As usual, Hoover delivers characters with quirks and ideas so unique and admirable while tearing your heart out with enough drama to make it read like a juicy gossip page. The plot in this one was a bit slow, but intriguing with mystery upon mystery as to why Leeds is seeing what he is seeing. I will leave it at that so you can decide on your own terms how you feel about Hoover's latest work.
If you're in the mood for a little paranormal romance, check on Layla on December 8, 2020.

This just proves that Colleen Hoover can write anything and I'm here for it.
I will give you nothing no spoiler's, no content all you need to know is Layla is so creepy good!

My thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first paranormal romance, and I really enjoyed it! It felt like it wasn't too far removed from reality so I didn't have to suspend my disbelief too much and was able to enjoy it.
When Leeds and Layla meet it's practically love at first sight. After an unexpected attack leaves Layla fighting for her life, Leeds decides to whisk her away to the bed and breakfast they met at (not too concerned about the fact that the B&B is for sale and they're the only ones that will be staying there). Once they arrive, Layla's behaviour takes a bizarre turn, which is just one of the many inexplicable occurrences that take place at the B&B.
Tons of other stuff happens after that, but I don't want to give too much away. I kept thinking I had the ending figured out, and was expecting a different feeling of the ending, but I'm glad it ended the way it did! I love when author's step out of their comfort zone; CoHo is a great romance writer, and the vast majority of her novels are romance, but she knocked it out of the park with Verity, an incredible thriller, and wrote a very enjoyable paranormal romance.
Thank you Amazon Publishing for my advanced digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This one comes out December 8, 2020!

Colleen Hoover has done it again! I have no idea where she comes up with this stuff but it's always pure gold! I refuse to give away anything for this book - go into it completely blind because I promise you'll love every single second of suspense!!

Colleen Hoover is my go-to author when it comes to contemporary romance. So, when I heard that she was writing something a little different, in a totally different genre, I just knew I had to check it out.
Layla is an intriguing story that will hook you from the very first page. This story is intricate and unique web a mystery that will keep the reader guessing. I know I certainly had some theories about what was going on and for once, I was totally off base. My theories were wrong and I was totally blown away.
Layla is unlike anything this author has written before. Sure, it has Colleen Hoover’s signature romance and heart that she puts into every story, but this story is also filled with mystery, intrigue, suspense and some interesting paranormal aspects.
I know I’m being pretty vague with this review, but this book is the kind best enjoyed if you jump into it blind. I had no clue what I was getting myself into with this book and I wouldn’t have it any other way….
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book via the publisher & NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review*

Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love with girl. Boy and girls embark on a whirlwind romance. Boy has crazy ex girlfriend. Crazy ex girlfriend is a maniac. Crazy stuff happens. Girl changes. Boy really tries to connect with her again. But what if the girl didn’t really change...?
I am a huge paranormal lover and love a good spooky read. This was a refreshing take on the world of ghosts and spirits.
I loved the fast pace, the characters and the plot.
Colleen’s background as a romance author really added to this book - I never thought I would feel about a ghost the way I did.
Oh, and I just want you all to know - people who go to a Mexican restaurant and only eat one taco are not to be trusted.
I rate Layla 5 spooky stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
