I was given a copy of this book by netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved it. I'll buy anything this author writes at this point. I love the art. I love her messages. I love the characters. These are just a great little dose of serotonin for yourself after a long day. All the stars.

Gosh, I want to cry of happiness every time I look at those adorable tea dragons <3
And the ending got me good. It was so nice to see the growth of each character.

This story is simply beautiful and uplifting and just full of acceptance and goodness.

Definitely a feel-good read that I highly recommend.

“You feel like you’ve lost your path. It’s natural to be sad. It’s alright to let those feelings wash over you, and give them time to soak into the earth. That’s when things start to grow again.”

The Tea Dragon Tapestry by Katie O’Neill is the third, and final, installment of the atmospheric Tea Dragon series. Gretta has been caring for her Tea Dragon Ginsing for over a year but she still can’t seem to break through his sadness over losing his previous owner. That is not the only thing Gretta must deal with when a master blacksmith asks her if she would like to try out for an apprenticeship. Minette must decide if she has chosen the correct path in life when a tapestry arrives for her from the monastery where she was training to be a prophetess. Both Gretta and Minette must navigate growing up, friendships, and finding their true calling.

Things that I liked:
Katie O’Neill’s illustrations are whimsical, soft, and absolutely stunning. This book is easy to enjoy just on the art alone.
The representation in this middle grade piece was excellent: disability and LGBTQIA representation.
The comfort that the story provides as well as the fantasy escape (with real world issues).
I really enjoyed that families in the book can be found families as well as the support and trust embedded in friendship.
While this installment in the series felt heavier than the previous two, I thought the discussion on grief and supporting the grieving was important and age appropriate.
Minette and Gretta both had equal story lines and the resolution was well rounded. I am very sad to see the series conclude but definitely loved the experience.
The “Extracts from the Illustrated Tea Dragon History” at the end was a nice touch.

Things that didn’t work for me:
I would have loved to know more about Rinn and Aedhan (minor characters that helped further the plot) but that is personal preference. Maybe we will see a new graphic novel from the Tea Dragon world soon.

A big thank you to Katie O’Neill, Oni Press, and NetGalley to read and review this beautiful graphic novel.

I loved this graphic novel! The colourful illustrations were stunning, and I simply couldn't get over the visual appeal of this collection. The story itself, was very sweet and the tea dragons were adorable. I can't wait to read the other Tea Dragon books.

beautiful and enchanting read that will bring a smile to the face of anyone who reads it.

The art work is stunning and quite literally tells a story without words on many occasions throughout the book. O’Neill’s art has a way of drawing you in with it’s sweetness.

The story itself is very whimsical and the diverse array of characters are an absolute delight.

I highly recommend the entire series. I loved it from start to end.

Thank you NetGalley, Oni Press, and Katie O’Neill for the opportunity to read this book.

It's nice to see all the characters meet in this final instalment but it's also sad because it's the last book.

The personal problems that the characters go through makes you root for them. They are relatable and feel genuine.

Again, the art is the perfect mix of whismical and adorable. There's a full page art spread during Minette's dream sequence that was so beautiful.

This is the next instalment of the Tea Dragons and once again, I LOVE IT! So light and heartwarming but deep and meaningful! The diversity of the characters in how they identify themselves, the way it approaches love and relationships as couples but also as families and friends. The artwork alone is beautiful and there are so many pictures I would love to have hung around my house!
I want more of this series. I love it so much!

The Tea Dragon series is just a breath of fresh air. It can be enjoyed by all ages as the artwork is beautiful and the story endearing. This last installment has themes of dealing with grief (which, omg, my heart!! Little Ginseng!) and finding your life purpose. O'Neill develops both themes with gentleness and kindness. I loved all the character designs, and even though all the characters are fantastical, they are diverse with diverse loves. I think many fantasy writers could learn something from this series, that when you are creating a world, you don't need to be bound to our current social norms. This is truly a one-of-a-kind series. (Plus, who wouldn't want to take care of a tea dragon?!)

Thank you to Oni Press for approving an e-arc of The Tea Dragon Tapestry on Netgalley. This was one of my most anticipated releases of 2020, and it did not disappoint. I adored the other two Tea Dragon graphic novels, and the world building is amazing.

THINGS I LIKED:

The characters are amazing and sweet and just so loveable. I just – there’s not enough words in the world to describe the characters. The older characters are wise and supportive of the younger generation, and the younger characters are so carefree, kind and their souls are so pure. I love the relationships between the characters, the healthy friendships, familial relationships and romantic relationships.
There’s a lot of representation in this series! That’s what I love most about the Tea Dragon world. There’s LGBTQIA+ rep, POC rep and disability rep (one character uses a wheelchair due to an accident).

The Tea Dragons are adorable. I love how unique the idea of Tea Dragons are. We get to learn about them throughout the series, and at the end of The Dragon Tapestry (can’t remember if they’re in the other books too), we learn about the history of Tea Dragons.

This graphic novel also deals with the grief of losing a loved one. So be aware of that. But I think the way the author illustrates grief and overcoming grief is relatable, yet gentle. I think the way that the themes of grief and change are illustrated throughout this graphic novel is gentle and children may be able to actually understand this. Like it’s not too sad but not too happy. I don’t know if they made sense, sorry.

The art style is so so beautiful. Like I could stare at the illustrations all day, especially the tea dragons because they’re so cute.

THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE:

I think that despite my love for this book, and the fact that I can read the series over and over again, I feel like the plot and pacing is slow. That being said, it’s not necessarily a bad thing, just something I noted.

Overall, I adored this graphic novel. Katie O’Neill can write/illustrate hundreds of graphic novels set in the Tea Dragon universe and I would not complain at all (please do hehe).

I received this as an ARC to read for free in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and Oni Press for giving me access.

Once again, Katie O’Neill created a masterpiece! I love the world she creates with the Tea Dragons. The story is so heartfelt and about finding your way.

My heart aches to think this could be the last in the series. Everything is so cute and has great messages. I thoroughly loved this book.

I love this series, and I'm thrilled that I was able to read an advanced copy of the conclusion! The artwork brings me joy and warm fuzzies. Like the previous graphic novels in this trilogy, the plot is simple. The story doesn't have much action. However, these are beautiful stories for any age to read for relaxation and peace. I like the inclusion of characters from the previous two books. It brought a sense of closure.
I look forward to reading more books by this author.

The tea dragon series keeps being exquisite, as always. Its quiet and comforting sense of community and queerness feels like coming home every single time.
The character design is plain perfect, there's no other way to describe it. No one feels out of place, and the backgrounds are beautiful too.
The last few pages add some worldbuilding to the story and they help make everything feel more real. Maybe I would've spread them out throughout the book, maybe at the beginning or the end of each chapter, so it wouldn't feel like everything was being dropped on me all at once.
Also, little Ginseng is so cute!!! I hope she gets to grow tea leaves again some day.

I truly loved this book. This 3rd volume is as good as the previous 2. The drawings are beautiful, the story is soft, inclusive and heartwarming.

The Tea Dragon series is probably my favorite graphic novel series I've ever read. These books are so wonderful, wholesome, and heartwarming.

Remember that you are already whole.

This third novel follows Greta trying to impress a blacksmith for an apprenticeship while also looking for a way to help Ginseng through their grief/mourning period of losing their previous caretaker. Minette receives a tapestry from the monastery where she used to train and it makes her question her path in life. We're also reunited with the characters we know and love from the two previous books.

When someone is grieving, the best thing you can do is let them heal on their own, and show them that you’ll be there for them.

This was such a pleasant reading experience and I highly recommend this entire graphic novel series. The illustrations are breathtakingly beautiful. I will read anything that Katie O'Neill writes/creates because it's so heartwarming, and it brings me joy.

Thank you to Oni Press and NetGalley for ARC of this book.

The Tea Dragon series is one of my favourite feel good series. It's one I revisit all the time when I need cheering up because with each turn of the page my smile gets bigger and bigger and my stress melts away. The very first time I read The Tea Dragon Society I spent about 45 minutes agonizingly deciding which Tea Dragon I would want to have in my care...and then another half hour deciding which Tea Dragon I'd be. That feeling of wonderment has never left throughout the whole series and this latest installment is just as amazing as the first two.

In The Tea Dragon Tapestry our main focus is on Greta who is working on her one item to be tested for a blacksmith apprenticeship, Minette learns more about herself and begins to open up to others but we also have our favourite non-Tea Dragon stars returning as well. For our Tea Dragons we have Ginseng as our star as they work through their grief of losing their caretaker, fortunately they also have Greta to take care of them now while Chamomile takes care of Minette through her nightmares.

As adorable as the artwork is it's important to know that this whole series touches on very real issues that we all have in our lives like grief and being there for someone you love, learning about who you are now and learning to let go of who you were or who you thought you were going to be.

I can't wait until this comes out because I need it for my collection so I can read it whenever I'm feeling down.

The overall story was so lovely to read, it was wholesome and sweet. The relationships just make my heart burst with joy, and I was glad to see the characters from book 2 show up in this one. Of course the art is stunning as per usual. It really makes you feel all cozy and warm inside.

This is a perfect addition to the Tea Dragon series. The Tea Dragon Tapestry will become another book of this series I revisit to cheer me up and calm me down. It is wholesome and genuine and utterly lovely.

The last book in the series and I will miss all the characters. Really love the setting and feeling of peace that these books emit. The artwork is just as stunning as everything she does! Cannot wait to purchase this book to add to my collection because I will revisit this world many times. So excited to see what the author comes up with next!

The Tea Dragon Series is quite possibly one of my favorite series I've ever read. The illustrations, the work, the thought, everything that Katie O'Neill puts into it is nothing short of amazing!

Illustrations are once again, on point. I've loved her work since I picked up The Tea Dragon Society, book 1 in the Tea Dragon series. It's consistent and lovely as always.

What I love about the series are the small details that Ms. O'Neill puts into it. There is always the plot of the story, here we see Greta and Minette again as they are working and building. Greta creating her one item to apprentice with a new master and Minette working through her dreams and fears that she is losing herself.

There are also the smaller details, the love that is shown between the adults with each other. The happiness and sadness of what happens when your life changes. Sometimes for good.

This is the third graphic novel in the series. I love that all the characters come and go throughout the series. It's like seeing old friends again. In Tea Dragon Tapestry, Greta and Minette are woven back into the story as the highlighted thread; however, Erik, Hese and even Rinn are pulled together to create this masterpiece. Threads of friendship, mastering/apprenticing a craft, moving on and finding happiness are woven together beautifully. I love the storyline, but I am always enthralled by the tea dragons.

Let's be honest, the tea dragons are the stars of this series. Peppermint, Cham, Rooibos and Ginseng star in this literary tapestry. I love seeing their illustrated emotions and personalities and I always go back to study them after I finish reading through the storyline. In this one, Ginseng is struggling with the death of their previous caretaker and Greta is trying to bond/make it better as much as she can. Cham tries to console Minette through her nightmares and Peppermint and Rooibos are supportive as ever of Erik and Hese. I adore when Peppermint and Rooibos stick out their tongues at one point in the story.

The ending as always is a collection of brewed memories and it does not disappoint. I invite you to enjoy this graphic novel as much as I have all three of them. The plots are real and applicable to real life, but the characters are larger than life. The art, as always, is beautiful, whimsical and inspiring. One day, I hope to have my own tea dragon illustrated! I'd like to think of my own tea dragon as a cranberry one: plucky, a bit tart at times, but over all, soothing.
