This is the ARC I've been most excited for thus far. Thank you, NetGalley!

I'll give my perspective: I love this series. It accomplishes so many things I've always wanted-- casual representation (of POC, LGBT people, and disabled people, off the top of my head) in a fantasy setting, humanoid monsters, and worldbuilding that is both unique and easily understandable. Not to mention that it does this in a children's series.

I say it every time, but here it is again-- when I was a young teen I couldn't find LGBT books for my age. I didn't know where to look or how to ask, and I sometimes switched shelves when other people walked by so nobody would see I was near a Gay Author looking at Gay Things. It is consistently incredible to see the progress of LGBT media for children.

So you know I was excited to read this. And you can probably tell by the five stars that I was very happy. And I suppose I could leave it at that: if you've read the series, then read this, and if you haven't read the series, then go read the series. But I would like to really flesh out my discussion of this book in particular, since the entire series (and, let's be honest, the author herself) deserve so much more popularity right now.

Firstly: the representation. It is very much still there. Greta and Minette have that wonderful bond, and seeing them grow up even a little is lovely. Their designs age so well, and we still have Hesekiel and Erik being cute in the background. This book departs somewhat from the relationships to explore characters on their own, particularly Minette and Greta, and yet they come together often to be supportive of each other. They never fail to warm my heart...

And so I would like to talk about each of them for a moment.

Minette is a lot of things. I get the sense that there is so much more of her to explore, and yet even the hints we get are so poignant. Minette struggles with her religion, her family, and who she really is-- a theme that will ring true for many, many people, LGBT and otherwise. Her dreams and nightmares are illustrated beautifully and she gets a fitting resolution that neither feels falsely happy nor pessimistic, which is surprisingly difficult to pull off-- emotional nuance, particularly in kids' media.

Greta is making things in a non-capitalist way. This is what I was thinking the entire time-- that Greta's story is, fundamentally, about how we work and why. She's got a chance to become an apprentice to a great blacksmith, but what ought she make for him? What would really impress him? And, of course, she has to learn that it's not about the complexity or the difficulty of the project. Say it with me: it's the thought that counts. And the adults discuss how nice it is to see Greta making things not just to serve a utilitarian purpose, but because she takes joy in her craft.

And, again, this book is putting all of these ideas in a format that makes it easy for children to engage with! This is a book which can be read at multiple ages and levels, and in particular it isn't afraid to discuss more complex themes for children.

The art is gorgeous, as always. I would think there was no way O'Neill could top this or that page, and then there would be another one even better. If I liked a landscape, in four pages there'd be a panel so beautiful it'd take my breath away. If I liked the characters' expressions, O'Neill would hand me a spread that made me tear up. The art only gets better, and I found myself consistently thinking "I would love a print of this" or "oh I wish I could put this on my wall..."

Speaking of which, many aspects of this book do something I find personally very difficult: they are good with and without the context of the rest of the book. There are lines which are all the stronger for the rest of the story, but are impressive on their own. There are panels which are gorgeous and perfect for the tone of the narrative, but can also be appreciated for their beauty and emotion outside of the book as well.

What else can I say? Because I really do want to get new people into this, and of course I want to thank the author for making this available for us to read early.

Hm... The tea dragons are cuter than ever. We meet new, wonderful characters with fantastic designs and personalities. I'm going to say it again: the art is OUTSTANDING. And there's even a little section at the end to discuss the history of tea dragons! I'll admit I'm not one for worldbuilding outside of a narrative, but it was a wonderful touch for those who want just a little bit more information on the dragons.

All in all, another hit from O'Neill. I'm so happy to read more from an author I love so much. Immediately put in a request for it at my local library; it's a wonderful addition to the series.

This continues to astound both in its artistry and writing as well as its representation and magical storytelling. It's the kind of book (and series) that you run your hands and fingers over the pages with each page turn and the creatures that life is breathed in to by O'Neill has such a profound sense of appreciation for the natural (and magical) world where relationships to one another and to nature are more important than anything else- and thus reap benefits for everyone and everything.

The message is strong.

The artwork blows my mind with its palette of colors and the pages without dialogue or narrative sparkle. Yet, any interaction between the characters is just as lovely too. There's history of the tea dragons and apprenticeship with a deep-seated anticipation for what's yet to come for the characters.

It had a fun and warm atmosphere like the previous ones.

I am not disappointed and I think it has completed the trilogy very well.

The art is always great.

Huge thanks to NetGalley and Oni Press for this title to read and review!

The Tea Dragon Tapestry was just as enchanting as the other graphic novels in the series. My favorite thing about these books other than the gorgeous illustrations is the way the author weaves such beautiful tales of love, acceptance, and adventure. The representation of POCs, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQ community only adds to the charm and magic of these tales.

I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next!

"everything that happens is part of your wholeness. the sadness, the loss, the hurt, as well as the joy, the love, the friendship-- it is all part of your tapestry"

the tea dragon graphic novel series delivers as always with this latest installment. the art is absolutely stunning, I'd love to just live within these pages forever, the characters are fantastic, I loved seeing them all come together in this volume, and the tea dragons are consistently absolutely adorable.

I love all the different aspects of diversity that's included in these graphic novels, poc, lgbt+ and disability representation all in this magical little world where the tea dragons live, and I also really likes the themes and lessons covered in the story, about growing to become a better person and come to terms with change in your life, the importance of caring for others and for yourself, handling grief and much more.

it's all done in such a wholesome way, but still in a way that properly addresses things for how important they are and I honestly have nothing negative to say about this story. it's just overall beautiful. if you haven't read this series I highly suggest checking out the first volume, which is available as a webcomic , and to pick up this volume once it comes out on october 27th.

I adored this book! Just like the previous ones it was so heartwarming and felt just like being hugged! The artwork was beautiful, and the Tea Dragons are so cute!! It’s a continuation from The Tea Dragon Festival so since we already know the characters, you are able to feel their struggles more deeply. I love the way this book handled grief and supporting others going through it. Would highly recommend if you liked the previous ones or just want a sweet, endearing graphic novel to read.

I received an electronic advanced reader copy from Oni Press through NetGalley. All opinions are 100% my own. Thank you so much Oni Press!

I love Katie O'Neill and am a die hard fan for anything of hers. I flew through this in 20 minutes and was left in absolute heartfelt tears. The world of tea dragons that she has created and woven in life lessons and experiences is incredible.

**Stars About thanks NetGalley for the eARC**

The latest installment of the Tea Dragon series! Continue with your favorite characters set one year after the events of The Tea Dragon Society. Follow along as Greta continues to pursue her blacksmithing while trying to cheer up the forlorn tea dragon, Ginseng. Minette works to remember more of her mysterious past, and favourite couple Hesekiel and Erik reconnect with friends and family.

I am a HUGE fan of Katie O'Neill's work, and am so excited to have this piece of art in my library!

I have read and reviewed each of the Tea Dragon books and I love them all. They are stories that teach us to be kind and loving to all, especially ourselves. We can find passion and meaning in the things we do everyday with friends and loved ones. Tea Dragon Tapestry is beautifully drawn and colored. I and always stunned by how much detail is on each page. This is a perfect novel for Fall as we follow Greta and Minette as they learn how to care for others and work through growing into the best versions of themselves. A must read series for any fantasy lover.

I loved the first two tea dragon books, so I had high hopes for this. It didn't disappoint! The illustrations are just wonderful

The perfect ending for a perfect story. Not a single flaw to point out. This book was so wholesome! And now, to continue with my life, I absolutely need a real tea dragon to care for. I won’t settle for anything less.

This beautifully illustrated graphic novels deals with difficult topics as grief and change in a thoughtful way. The portrayal of grief, loss and mourning (and how it affects even people around you) is beautifully done. Also the balance between hope and positivity vs loss and pain is so masterfully done that, even when at its core it can be a sad story, you’re touched and moved, but not devastated. And you smile a lot. I ended up feeling full of wonder, joy and gratefulness for being alive.

So, if you haven’t done it yet, run and grab both The Tea Dragon Society and The Tea Dragon Festival. Then read them. Then preorder The Tea Dragon Tapestry. And then come back to say thank you. :)

I promise you won’t regret it.

5/5 stars

We return to the cast of The Tea Dragon Society in this concluding volume, after a little trip to the past in The Tea Dragon Festival. It's sad to know that this is our last visit with the tea dragons, to this beautiful and vibrant world full of kind and gentle people. The whole series is the ultimate of cozy and affirming. There is not a whole lot of conflict, and in truth, even less plot, but being able to go on a mini-vacation to this magical place always feels like a treat, and I'm sure I'll make a return trip in a year or two.

This conclusion to the Tea Dragon graphic novel series was so good! The artwork was amazing, as always, and it was nice to have all of the characters from the previous installments brought together for the final story line. If you haven't read this series yet, you definitely should!

This was just as lovely and wholesome as the previous ones 💕

While it dealt with heavier topics than the last two books, it did so in a very uplifting (and not patronizing) way. This whole series is the perfect example of something written for kids that is also perfect for all adults but especially queer ones who didn’t get to read this type of story with a queer found family when they were growing up.

I highly recommend everyone to read all three of these books and to also buy them for the kids in their lives.

This is my first time reading this series. Thank you Netgalley and The publishers for providing me with a copy. I had been hearing about this series so much but unfortunately due to cash crunch and book unavailability I had never been able to read this awesomeness. This book made me realize a lot of things and I'll go through them one by one.
1. Grief is a part of everyone's life and each being takes it's own time to heal. The process of healing cannot be hastened and the surrounding people/creatures should understand that and help the grieving mate in making them as comfortable as possible.
2. It sometimes happens that one loses purpose in life and that is natural but nothing good comes out if we only seek the dissatisfaction, disappointment and losses.
3. Learning and teaching goes hand in hand. Everyone has something to learn. Everyone has something to teach.
4. We should never forget our roots. They bind us and make us the best version of ourselves.
I love all the relationships in the book. Each one contributed something to the plot. It was like a breath of fresh air. The illustrations are the prettiest I have ever seen. The colors used especially the ones used in the illustrations of the sky, were mesmerizing. I truly feel I am a little late to the party, but at least better late than never.

Given how much I love this series, I am so grateful to Oni Press for sending me an eARC of The Tea Dragon Tapestry through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A quick note on reading order: I read these books in publication order (Society, Festival, Tapestry), but it would also be possible to read them in chronological order (Festival, Society, Tapestry). You should definitely read the other two books before reading Tapestry so that you can fully appreciate it, though!

In The Tea Dragon Tapestry we return to Greta, Minette, Hesekiel, and Erik a year after the end of The Tea Dragon Society. Greta has been trying her best to help her very own tea dragon, Ginseng, through the grief and depression she has been experiencing since her previous owner passed away. Greta has also been focusing on her blacksmithing, and has the opportunity to be the apprentice of a famous master blacksmith... If she can create one object that impresses him enough. Meanwhile, Minette has received a package from the monastery she used to live in, and it makes her question her place in the world. Our friends at the teahouse are visited by some familiar faces from The Tea Dragon Festival, too!

Overall The Tea Dragon Tapestry is a beautiful story of found families, friendship, mental health, tradition, acceptance, and self-discovery. It was Tapestry's focus on supporting loved ones through mental health difficulties, and the ways in which the characters develop over the course of this final book, which made me love it even more than the previous stories. It also goes without saying that the illustrations have continued to be stunning; I would happily hang so many of them on my walls!

I'll definitely be preordering a physical copy as soon as my paycheck hits my account this month!

I love the communities established throughout this entire series, and the final installment brings individuals together to strengthen all of the relationships we have seen along the way. The illustrations are stunning, and the beauty of the story shines in the joyous coloring and what the illustration adds to the story-telling. Highly recommend for an afternoon pick-me-up.

I received a copy of this book as an early review copy from NetGalley and One Press. All opinions are my own.
