An in depth eye opening look at the worlds most notorious industry that has been one of the best keep secrets for decades..until now. I've been aware of sex trafficking since I started researching it and organizations that work to rescue, restore and stop trafficking. I've been a sex trafficking awareness Advocate for almost a decade now. Knowing the signs of grooming,of victims and arming people with to open their eyes to the world around them has helped me inform others and educate my kids. Now the author opens the eyes of the reader from his experience and experiences of victims in Canada. Sex trafficking happens every where, in almost if not all countries, provinces, states, cities, towns, and anyone from any walk of life and age can become a victim. That's why books like this are so important!

This book has much to say about a truly important subject. Christmas' prose is clear and it's obvious he know a lot on this topic. There's input from various people involved which really helps see the problem from several perspectives.

Unfortunately, I really struggled to read this. It has nothing to do with the book itself. It just made me really sad to read. I couldn't read more than a few pages without stopping. Christmas is so professional in his approach to this topic but his clinical style didn't work for me. After very little progress and four months that this has been in my currently reading shelf, it's time to admit that I won't be finishing this.

If you are interested in learning about the Canadian sex industry, this book is very educational and helpful. I'm off to find something more cheerful.

Provides an in-depth look at the sex trafficking industry in Canada and is a call to action. The information is good, but I struggled with this book because it was so dry and disorganized. The introduction alone took me ages to finish, and it seemed to jump from topic to topic with just two random stories thrown in the first two chapters. For an academic text, it would have been better to break up the sections more with clear topics to address. I ultimately did not end up being able to finish the book in the 30-day time frame that the protected adobe PDF allowed which is unfortunate, this is a book that requires more time to read and take notes on.

Absolutely brilliant!! I love how this book has both qualitative and quantitative data to get its point across. There were statistics and datas with stories and testimonies which made this book amazing and showed that there is a problem. After reading this book, I feel like there is a desperate need for change, not just for people in Canada but everywhere! This is an universal problem and I am glad the author does a great job in writing this book because it was convincing and has everything you need to know about sex slavery in Canada.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.
The topic of the sex Industry is so important and us a global issue. This book pertains to Canada specifically but could be applied anywhere. Well written and great research. I especially thought the stories from survivors, social workers, etc were very beneficial to understanding various points of view.
