I liked the way this author steadily increased the tension, excitement, and drama as the story progressed and the many unexpected and very tense twists and turns. I felt the author described and set the scenes quickly and very realistically. As an example of the author’s skill for creating exceptionally thrilling scenes, here is a brief excerpt,

“With a cry, Demitri scuttled to the exit to see Amber Stone and Sergeant Jims free-falling through the sky. Amber was holding onto Sergeant Jims as they plummeted toward the icy ground. Sergeant Jims hit her in the collar bone, trying to knock her off of him. She held onto him with one hand and hit him with the other. Sergeant Jim's knee nudged her off of him. Amber grabbed his ankle, and he kicked her in the legs and knocked her away. She free fell in the sky, following Sergeant Jims and caught him by the neck, and used her knees to kick him in the groin. Amber elbowed him under his jawbone and knocked him motionless. They continued to free-fall, and she tugged on his parachute cord.”
