Murder, mystery, and romance all woven into a great read. The Plot of Faithless in death was great; it kept me fixated on reading more. If you like romance mysteries this is the book for you. You will fall in love with the FMC who isn't afraid to lead from the front, can fall back trusting that others will do theirs.

Another installment in the Eve Dallas In Death series. Another book I loved. How does she do it? A lover's fight that ends up turning into something dark.
Though in a series, they can be read as a standalone as JD Robb is such an amazing writer she can fill in the basics of the back story without you feeling lost.

A young artist is found murdered in her apartment. Detective Eve Dallas interviews Gwen Huffman, a wealthy young women who called the murder in. But to Eve, everything about her seems suspicious. Right away she determines Gwen is lying. What is she hiding? As the investigation continues, Eve uncovers secrets about Gwen's past. However, she and her fellow detectives uncover something much greater.

This was an entertaining, well-written book. Intricate, fascinating, spellbinding, fast-paced, fun and steamy, it kept me reading. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is part of the "In Death" series. I enjoyed this book and will continue to look for the next book in this series. This author is a "must read" for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for access to this title. All opinions expressed are my own.
In the 52nd instalment, Eve and Peabody call on the services of the FBI to help them with a sinister and fanatical cult.
Now, I should probably state that I am disappointed that mankind is still killing each other in the future. After all, this is a futuristic series. But I guess what has me disappointed is that J.D. Robb( Nora Roberts) is fairly confident we shall still have cults and they will do dastardly things to women and children.
A fairly good read.

The twists and turns as Lieutenant Eve Dallas investigates the death of a female artist kept me glued to this story for an entire day. What is especially disturbing is, even though this was published 2021, the storyline has an eerie reflection of current day (2025) America (sex trafficking, white power, cult, homophobia etc). While Eve has a romantic interest, the intimate details are, thankfully, kept to a minimum. There are many characters to keep track of but the main focus is kept to a chosen few. This is my third book by this author and it seems to get better and better.

Faithless in Death is a strong addition to J.D. Robb’s long-running series, with Lieutenant Eve Dallas once again at the center of a layered and high-stakes investigation. What starts as the murder of a young artist quickly pulls Dallas into a much larger and more disturbing web involving wealth, power, and the extremes of religious devotion.
Robb blends sharp procedural work with timely and unsettling themes, exploring how faith can be twisted to justify truly staggering acts. The pacing is tight, the case is complex, and the supporting cast—familiar to longtime readers—adds depth and texture as always.
It’s a satisfying, compelling read that delivers on everything fans expect: smart dialogue, moral tension, and Dallas’s unwavering drive for justice.

The murder of an artist leads to a creepy cult and the horror show they’ve created in the name of faith and purity. I’ve read 3 books in the series and this one was my favorite because it gave me Law & Order SVU vibes. The cult leader reminded me of certain infamous men currently in the news (2025) and Warren Jeffs.

Eve's latest case starts out with a murder that looks to be a case of a lover's spat turned deadly. However, it doesn't take long before the facts as presented don't add up, leaving Eve and her team to dig deeper with some very surprising results. I love the mix of core characters, how Roarke helps Eve out with her cases through his connections and his skills, and seeing how the team put together the clues to get to the real murderer and the larger criminal conspiracy.
Thank you to NetGalley, St Martin's Press and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I definitely started this series late in the game with book 52 of the In Death series. As Ms Robb aka Nora Roberts is an outstanding author I was quickly able to follow along. I only have about 60 books of hers to read to catch up and honestly will definitely want to.
This was a fast paced police procedural that features the intelligent and tough Lt. Eve Dallas. Eve is tasked to bring down a sadistic cult that uses women as objects and breeders. It may be years in the future but sadly the same horrific things happen that you would hope would be gone by this time.
It was fast paced and had a gripping plot. Her relationship with her husband Roarke intrigued me and I will go bacl to the first book in this series to learn about them.
I highly recommend this riveting and at times brutally honest story of greed and warped prejudice that the lieutenant relentlessly attempts to destoy. Amazing Series.
Special thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book for my reading pleasure.

What starts off as a seemingly straightforward case of a lover’s quarrel turned deadly quickly spirals into something far darker when Eve and Peabody uncover links to a dangerous cult. As they dig deeper, they find evidence of human trafficking and abuse, pushing Eve and her team to join forces with other agencies to take down a cult leader consumed by a god complex.
It was a fairly good read.

Another good mystery. Eve and the crew start to investigate a murder and end up with human tracking, rape, torture and more murder. They are after a misogynistic man who is hiding behind his so-called religion. He is also hiding behind some tall fences and gates, but Eve is just the one to bring him out. There are so many cases that are linked together, and Eve has to pull many agencies together to pull it all off. Will she be able to save the women and children?

J. D. Robb brings us back into Eve's world as she tackles another case. This time, Eve finds herself at what looks like a crime of passion between lovers. When she starts investigating, she finds more out that there is more than meets the eye. The woman, who called it in from the other end of the city, has a story filled with regret and tears that don't quite ring true for Eve. When they start finding slivers of cracks in her story, they wonder what else she has to hide. As they delve further into this case, Eve finds more than just a quarrel between two lovers, but an organization of powerful people who will stop at nothing to keep their image of love and acceptance intact. Will Eve and her team be able to solve this one even if it takes more than just the city of New York's finest?
J. D. Robb brings us back to Eve and her people. It is always like visiting old friends every time I read one of her books in this series. It is nice catching up with everyone and seeing where they are and what they are up to at this point in their lives. I think it is good to read the series from the beginning so that the readers understand the journey these characters took to get here, but it is not pertinent to enjoy her stories. I always enjoy the relationships between the characters and love following them as they get their clues and piece them together. I love how each character brings their own personality and expertise to each case and how they have all become part of Eve's family. I always look forward to reading more from this author.
I have received and read and advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this privilege.

I'm glad I tried these books out to expand my personal boundaries, but I think I will go back to cozy mysteries afterwards.

Eve Dallas is a larger than life kick butt take names character! I have thoroughly enjoyed each book and this one continues the excellence! The mystery is solid, lots of red herrings to throw the reader and the characters are realistic. Another hit! Thanks #Netgalley and #StMartinsPress for the eARC in exchange for a honest review. All opinions are mine.

This is a very good book! I have read many books written by you and enjoyed them all. Your books are a great read! Thank you for writing such great books!

I went on a binge read to catch up on the Eve Dallas series by J. D. Robb. Good news: I caught up. Bad news: I’m all caught up and now I have to wait for the next release. You can never get enough of Eve and Roarke and Peabody and all the rest of the fascinating, hard-working, brilliant team we’ve come to know and love.
Just when they successfully – through good hard, detective work and maybe sometimes a bit of luck – solve another tough, heart-breaking case, and Roarke is maybe able to convince Eve that rest and relaxation with a sexy husband with an Irish accent isn’t always a bad thing, somebody else commits a murder and here we go.
Faithless in Death is as suspenseful, riveting, tense as all the rest of the books in the series and as enjoyable. Highly recommend. I voluntarily leave this review; all opinions are my own.

Another excellent mystery by J.D. Robb. I really enjoy this series; love the characters and the mysteries are well thought out with lots of twists and turns. The interaction between Eve and Peabody is great and I love how Eve and Roarke bond. I have loved all these books.

My first series that ever hooked me was the Eve Danger one and this addition had me hooked in the first couple of chapters. There's a murder (huge surprise) in an art studio and when Eve and Roarke begin investigating the woman who called it in, her stories just aren't quite adding up, thus begins the deep dive into a possible conspiracy involving young pregnant women; lots of them! I can't say that I was surprised by the ending because I read far too many thrillers and mysteries for these endings to shock me but because this ending was entirely possible in today's world, it was actually scary rather than surprising!

I received an ARC through "NetGalley" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Dallas has spent most of her day working on paperwork regarding the case in Ireland. As she is finished, Roarke tells her he has a surprise. He takes her to a home where Mavis is happy to show her the house she and Leonardo just bought. After the tour she and Roarke head home. That next morning, she is advised of a dead body of a sculptor. The 911 call came from a person who was on the other side of town. As Dallas and her team got into their investigation, the initial suspect was cleared, but there seemed to be something in her background.
The more that she learned about Gwen, the initial suspect, started the team to look at it from a different standpoint. Follow along and discover all of the steps Dallas took to find who the responsible party was, what was the reason behind the killing and how the takedown was performed. The presentation of the investigation was well portrayed and will keep your interest right till the end.
This is definitely a book worth reading!
