Loved reading the exciting and entertaining suspenseful story. Eve and Peabody along with other officers in the Police Department including Eve's husband, Roarcke, and the FBI work on a case together involving a religious organization. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting story full of mystery and intrigue by the phenomenally talented author, J.D. Robb.

Actually 4.5⭐️
Another great read from the In Death Series by J.D. Robb. I now need to go back to the beginning of the series and read the rest.
Would recommend to others.

Faithless in Death by JD Robb (aka Nora Roberts) Is the 52nd novel in the “In Death” series and has Eve Dallas investigating a death of a young sculptor.
Eve and her team are trying to discover who killed the sculptor and why. Gwen Huffman comes from a very wealthy family, and she is engaged to a well-to-do man. Gwen becomes their number one suspect. Her fiancé is unaware that she has been in a secret affair with a woman, the sculptor who has been found bludgeoned to death. While investigating Gwen for the murder, Eve and her team uncover an organization exerting influence beyond religious matters.
This is a great police thriller and page turner. I recommend this novel for fans who enjoy this genre. Thank you to Nethgalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC.

Eve Dallas' newest crime scene seems pretty straightforward. Ariel Byrd, a sculptor on the rise, is found with her head bashed in after what looks like a passionate night. When Eve goes to the person who called 911, Gwen Huffman, details in her story do not match up. As Eve digs deeper into Huffman, she finds connections to a powerful religious and bigoted cult and many secrets Huffman has been keeping. Eve's investigation becomes much larger than one murder, and as the FBI gets involved, Eve sets out on a mission to take down a massive conspiracy.
Faithless in Death is my first In Death novel in a while, and it was very nice to return to the world and characters. The series does a good job balancing the new mystery and the continuing lives of its recurring characters, though with the scale of the case in this book the balance tips away from the characters in the back half. The central mystery is not super complex, but the book does a good job criticizing the racist, misogynistic cult at its center. A few years after publication, it does feel nice to have a book stand up for basic equality and tolerance. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it doesn't have to, and I enjoyed the story for what it was. Another solid futuristic mystery featuring a great cast of characters that pleases fans of the series.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for a copy of Faithless in Death in exchange for an honest review.

This series was so good! I love how Eve originally thought one person was the killer but dug deep and found a really dark secret. Amazing!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!

First- thank you to netgalley for the free copy!
I have never heard of this series despite there being 50+ books. I can’t compare to the others in the series yet.
I thought this dragged a bit. Pretty long for what it was. I wasn’t as hooked as I was hoping to be but with that said it was good! It was a fun crime/who done it read! I’ll definitely read another!

I liked this book and the series itself. The characters are interesting and they grow as the series progresses. I wasn’t sure if I would like a book that centred around a cult, but this one kept my interest.

this author is my go to when it comes to crime and police. After the first book i was hooked going forward. I am a total J.D. Robb fan and will and want to read more.

Faithless in Death has a tautly woven plot with fast pacing throughout. I enjoyed the well developed characters and the plot twists that made you think twice just when you thought you knew what was going on. Well done!

Thanks to J.D. Robb, St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for access to the Advanced Reader Copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
J. D. Robb books fit like an old glove – easy and comfortable. The characters have great rapport and dialog, the situations are interesting, and the solutions are wrapped up nicely.
In this story, an artist is murdered, and the main suspect is a local socialite. Lt. Eve Dallas and her team investigate and soon find threads that lead them to something much bigger and deeper than they realized.
Well written and interesting story with characters that work well. Recommended.

I absolutely loved this book. Loved it! One murder turns into so much more! I devoured it! I have been reading JD Robb for years and love this series, though every one can be read as a standalone, as each case is different, the main characters and their friends are continuous. Here we have Eve and her friends looking at a case that is just not adding up and what she finds and if you know Eve, you know she will get to the bottom of everything.
Though I love the cases and how the team works them, this series is more about the characters for me. They draw me back book after book. You can literally start anywhere. A must-read for sure!
Happy reading!

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book that I picked up. I enjoy their ability to pull me into the story from the start and keep me engaged throughout. This is a well written story about things not always being the way it looks and more dangerous. Eve and her team find themselves mixed up in a case where lies and secrets become more deadly than the murder they are investigating. I enjoyed Eve and how supportive the other characters were. She is a strong, connectable and my favorite character. I enjoyed watching the growth of the plot which made the story easy to read throughout. This is an engaging story that is not only hard to put down but fast paced as well. The twists and turns are something you don't want to miss for sure. I really enjoyed reading this book. I look forward to reading more from this series. I highly recommend this book.

LT. Eve Dallas is on the case when a sculptor is found dead in her own place. The clues don't add up but Dallas knows how to shift through them to find out who wanted her dead, and to bring the killer to justice.
I loved this book (and the whole series). It was an interesting and fast-paced crime novel/police procedural/romantic suspense - it hit all of those elements and more. I couldn't put it down.
Highly recommend.
I received an ecopy of this book from St. Martin's Press and NetGalley. Plus, I have a hardcover copy.

Another classic entry in the In Death series. This one is twisty - what begins as an investigation into the death of a downtown artist takes a roundabout turn into a cult which preaches white and hereteorsexual supremacy (any resemblance to real life "religion" is obviously totally coincidental.)
I loved that this book gave us more insight into the background of Officer Jan Shelby, the first LGBT recurring character in the series. Shelby is an eager young officer who looks to our heroines, Dallas and Peabody, as role models, and I loved seeing that she got a bit more well rounded (with a teenage broken heart) as well as providing representation in a book that includes some trauma from gay conversation therapy.
The book has a really stunning scene which also highlights the essential work that 911 operators do, as well the workers at women's shelters. While the In Death series centers around police detectives, I really enjoy when the book highlights the quiet unsung frontline workers who continue to provide essential services.
This is definitely one I would reread, and recommend to anyone who loves the In Death series or true crime novels

*Faithless in Death* by J.D. Robb kicks off with a murder in an artist’s studio and slowly unfolds into a conspiracy involving a cult—because apparently, a simple homicide just isn’t enough anymore. As usual, Lieutenant Eve Dallas is on the case, solving crimes with all the emotional range of a granite countertop. The story has all the usual ingredients: murder, motive, and moments of banter that pass for character development—but like a casserole that’s been reheated one too many times, it’s starting to lose flavor.
The cult angle should be juicy—mind control, power dynamics, creepy charisma—but it somehow ends up feeling about as threatening as a particularly intense book club. The villain is sufficiently evil in a cartoonish way, and while the case eventually ties together in a neat bow, it all feels weirdly low-stakes. Maybe it’s because everyone’s so cool and collected throughout. Even when facing a corrupt, controlling pseudo-religious organization, Eve remains undaunted, as though she’s just dealing with a slightly irritating HOA.
The pacing clips along, and if you enjoy the reliable rhythm of Eve solving crimes while delivering deadpan quips and occasionally being forced to acknowledge her feelings (briefly, and with mild irritation), you’ll find something to like. But if you’re hoping for genuine psychological tension or moral complexity, *Faithless in Death* might leave you feeling, well… a little faithless. It’s not terrible—it’s just comfortably mediocre in that way that reminds you this series has been running longer than most people’s marriages.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for providing me with a digital copy for review.

Another heart-pounding, adrenaline-charged installment in the In Death series! J.D. Robb is a genius—each book is better than the last! She masterfully pulls you into the story, making you feel like you're right there beside Eve, chasing down the villains and fighting for justice. The suspense, the action, the emotion—it's all here, and it's absolutely electric!

Faithless in Death is book #52 in the In Death series by J.D. Robb. This book kept me turning the page from start to finish, it was action packed and showed the evil and corrupt people that can exist in the world. I would recommend this book to others.
I received an ARC from NetGalley, and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

The In Death series is incredible and I look forward to each and every release. This particular one quickly became one of my favorites with the storyline making you not want to put your kindle down. She always manages to hook you with the suspense and banter that make the characters even more adored. I am anxiously awaiting the next release in this series to see where she goes next.

It has been awhile since I’ve read a book in the “in Death” series. I guess I moved and they weren’t easy to find. So I was thrilled to be offered a few from #Netgalley. Eve and Roarke are just as busy as always and just as in love. Eve gets a case where an artist is found beaten in her studio. The woman, Gwen, who called her murder in was her lover. Gwen was also an unwilling member of a cult. As Eve explores the scene she realizes the caller is tied to the murder but is most likely the cause of the murder.
As Peabody and Eve investigate they find scenes that remind Eve of her abusive youth. But the case grows beyond until all agencies are involved.
Lots of mystery, strategy, and coordination in this book. If you haven’t read this one make sure to pick it up.

Book #52 in the fan favorite In Death series. If you haven't read any of these books, they are set in the future, this one in 2061. Lt Eve Dallas of the NYPD is the central character, surrounded by a well-developed team. With unique plot lines and memorable characters, the series remains one of my favorites. Each book could be read as a stand-alone and enjoyed, but the series stands out for maintaining the mystery/thriller elements readers look for and featuring an unforgettable cast of characters.
