J.D. Robb delivers yet another gripping installment in her long-running In Death series with Faithless in Death, a clever and twisting murder mystery that skillfully blends futuristic crime-solving with chilling psychological suspense. Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her ever-reliable partner, Detective Peabody, are once again thrown into the dark underbelly of New York's future. What begins as a seemingly straightforward investigation into the murder of a local artist soon unravels into something far more sinister. The case leads them to a dangerous cult whose method of control involves abducting vulnerable individuals and indoctrinating them into a life of manipulation, secrecy, and fear. Robb once again proves that even after dozens of books, she can still shock, engage, and keep readers guessing until the very end.

Thank you Netgalley for the advance reader copy of Faithless in Death by J. D. Robb in exchange for an honest review. In this installment of the series, Eve investigates a cult for the murder of an artist. Her crew keeps growing and I've really enjoyed seeing her growth in this series.

Faithless in Death, the 52nd gripping new installment of the Eve Dallas In Death series by J. D. Robb once again delivers a masterful blend of suspense, intrigue, and sharp character work. What first appears to be a simple crime of passion—the brutal death of a young sculptor—quickly spirals into something far darker and more complex. As Eve digs into the polished facade of the young sculptor and her privileged world, she uncovers a tangled web of lies, hidden agendas, and a conspiracy so deep that it pulls in the FBI.
Ms Robb expertly peels back each layer of deceit, keeping the pace tight and the tension high. Eve’s relentless drive for justice, combined with this author’s knack for rich world-building and character depth, makes this novel impossible to put down. The story’s darker themes are balanced by the familiar, comforting presence of Eve’s team and her relationship with Roarke, grounding the thriller’s intensity with moments of heart.
Smart, shocking, and skillfully crafted, this is another standout entry in the series that will satisfy longtime fans and newcomers alike.
This ARC book was complimentary…provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Faithless in Death by J.D. Robb is a gripping and suspenseful murder mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The story is well-crafted with an intricate plot and a great cast of characters. The author's writing style is engaging and atmospheric, with plenty of twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end.
One of the strengths of the novel is the way the author explores complex themes such as power, racism, misogyny, and bullying. These issues are handled with sensitivity and insight, making for a thought-provoking and emotionally charged reading experience.
Overall, Faithless in Death is a must-read for fans of murder mysteries and thrillers. It is a well-crafted, suspenseful, and thought-provoking novel that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. Highly recommended

This is book 52 in this series, but I could have sworn it was written right now. It was eerily on point with current events as society turns in horrible ways. It was quite satisfying to watch Dallas rip down the cult in the pages and I was melancholy for someone to do so here and now. An artist is killed with her own hammer. When it beings apparent there are ties to Natural, a fanatical cult that believes men and women have their places and so do those of each race. Dallas is quick to make the connections and digs in to learn more, excited to take down this disgusting cult. I like this mystery even if this one wasn’t the same as others. There were less possible culprits and most of the digging was about the cult, but I was definitely for that mystery. I enjoyed this one and I am pleased to say that even as I indulge in reading my small pile of these one after another I am still enjoying them which isn’t true of all authors or series.

Ariel Byrd has been murdered in her art studio and the scene looks like it could have been a lover. Eve meets with the woman who called 911 and thinks she could be lying, there is just something about what she has said that doesn't ring true. Eve soon learns that there is more to Gwen Huffman than she realized and that she has plenty of secrets hidden in her background. Now Eve just has to figure out what she is lying about and why. Soon Eve realizes she needs more help in dealing with all the secrets she has uncovered and beings in the FBI. This one murder is about to turn a bunch of lives upside down. Will Eve be able to bring justice for Ariel and take down a ton of bad people in the process or will a.murderer get away.

I do love a good cult story and this one was bonkers.
**Huge thanks to the publisher for providing the arc free of charge**

First off a big thank you to the publisher for letting me read and download 3 of J D Robb books when they had them up as read now , because I absolutely love this series , and it's never let me down, even when I'm having a bad day. It's fast pace from the start, and I love how I can read this series either in order or out of order . Can't wait to read the other 2 I got , and re visit my favorite characters .

It is a completely riveting book that keeps you invested from beginning to end. There are so many moving parts to this book it's hard to keep them straight. Thankfully, Eve does.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Dallas is involved in another murder. He can’t figure out how a young sculptor and a wealthy woman from another part of town and a fiancé all fit together. The FBI gets involved in trying to figure out what’s going on and what the conspiracy is. A great book!

Fans of J.D. Robb/Nora Roberts will not be disappointed. In this latest book in the series, Eve has to follow the clues to see exactly what happened…was it a lover’s quarrel or something else? This was a good mystery, and I enjoyed following along with Eve to discover the truth!

Eve and Roarke continue with their devoted marital relationship,
Eve is a cop with a difficult past including abuse and Roarke the ultimate super rich businessman.
Together they click as they slowly meld their lives and often work together to solve murders.
A murder of artist leads to illicit relationships, hidden secrets, and a cult like family and organization called the Natural Order.
Eve weaves her way through the multiple layers of money and deception.
Roarke is her expert civilian consultant in finance and technology.
The story also adds the first mention of Eve’s friend buying a house and cohabiting.
Their work towards solving the case leads to some ugly conclusions.
Love the story and how well they work together.

4.5 Stars
One Liner: You know why the series is a hit!
Eve Dallas is called to a crime scene in the West Village studio where a young sculptor, Ariel Byrd, lies dead. The 911 call is traced back to Gwen Huffman from the Upper Side, a wealthy woman with a fiancé. However, Eve finds gaps in the answers and has too many questions. It’s time to dig deep and find out exactly what happened. Turns out, this is a case of greater conspiracy and a fanatical group!
The book comes in omnipresent third-person POV.
My Thoughts:
I read the earlier books in the series some years ago (thanks to the library). Of course, even then, I didn’t follow the order but read them based on what appealed to me at that time. Though there have been many developments afterward, I knew the basics and could follow this one easily despite the large cast.
The publisher made three random books available as 'read now' on NetGalley, so I grabbed what was the latest one among the given selection. Guess they wanted to create some interest in this based on the current events. After all, the book has the Natural Order cult and all the dangerous nonsense that comes with it.
The book is filled with mystery, action, and quick developments. Though it has 400+ pages and can be on the slower side, there isn’t a single moment when you feel bored. The momentum sustains throughout and increases in the last quarter. At the same time, there’s space for personal relationships and other developments a series requires.
I’ve admired Eve since the first time I read the series, and it hasn’t changed. There have been many such badass woman cops in the last few years, but Eve remains at the top of the list. Only she makes that attitude work!
Roarke doesn’t have a lot to do, but he shines whenever he is in the scene. Either by being a silent pillar of strength or getting things done to help Eve with the case. Yeah, another favorite guy!
The climax may be a little less on the action part, but I like how it has been planned. Instead of slippery, high-volatile action scenes, we have more focus on planning. Naturally, a solid plan results in a glitch-free execution.
Strategic planning, a tactical approach, and a competent workforce are key to success. I know this sounds like a statement from a business blog, but the same theory applies here. When you spend enough time planning something and know how to execute it, not much can go wrong. There’s no unwanted clumsiness either, so everything is efficient and perfect. Just the way I like it!
To summarize, Faithless in Death is a slow-paced yet gripping police procedural that starts with a simple murder and spirals into bringing down a fanatical cult committing all possible crimes. If you enjoy the series, I’m sure you’ll love this book too!
Thank you, NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press, for the eARC. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book.

I really love this series and this book was a great one! It's so much fun to see, over the years of all the books, how Eve and Roarke grow together, how all the characters grow and change, and to see what they'll be involved in next. This story in particular was interesting, I love when there's a true mystery, like a true how the heck did this happen, crime. So this story was really fun to go through the twists and turns. I love them all and I need the next book in the series ASAP!

Eve Dallas has always been a favorite character and each book just makes me like her so much more.
No matter what the crime, Eve will do whatever it takes to have justice win.
With her husband Rourke on her side, Eve knows she will always get her man, or woman.

A call has come in about the murder of an artist. The caller is identified as Gwen, a wealthy socialite whose parents are part of a sinister racist, sexist cult. Gwen is a pathological liar, but Eve's team learns that she was in a relationship with the artist, Ariel. Is Gwen lying about killing Ariel, or is this just the tip of the iceberg? The team learns about "reeducation" for gays and death to anyone who crosses the cult leader as the story builds to an exciting conclusion. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to review this novel.

A return to all the things that I genuinely loved about this series. It was funny, witty, heart warming and also tragic. It really pulled together such a large story in such a short amount of time. Very very well done.

Anything by JD Robb is an instant read and auto buy for myself. I absolutely adorable the relationship between Eve & Roarke and every book is like coming back home to your loved ones. This time, Eve must solve a murder involved a cult. We have our beloved side characters of McNabb & Peabody present as well.

I down-loaded this JD Robb the second i saw it available, only to realize I already own it already gave it 5 well-deserves stars!

This series has made it to #52 with this entry! In fact, #54 is scheduled and I have already read #53 Forgotten in Death. There is a split opinion about series. Many think trilogies is a good fit. Some perhaps will accept ten books, but this one has over 50, so some people will think the stories might recycle. Get stale. Well, that is not the case with this series and this title.
Yes, we have our audacious detective Lieutenant Eve Dallas and her richer than sin husband Roarke. We also have Roarke's major-domo Summerset, some of Eve's workmates, like partner, Peabody, or Captain Feeney, or Commander Whitney, amont others. I especially love Dr. Mira, police consultant and close friend and confidant to Eve. In fact, just about every character has a freshness to them no many how many books come out in this series.
In this story, Eve is investigagting the homicide of a young female artist. It doesn't take Eve long to see that the woman was tied to a cult-like religious organization. When Eve goes to interview the woman who phoned in the 911 call, Gwen Huffman, it takes her less than a minute to know things do not add up. In fact, as Eve starts to uncover things about the cult there in New York City, she discovers that its tentatacles reach far wider.
This book definitely hits on some tough subjects, inclding the cult, but also, homophobia, sexual assault and domestic violence. However, as this book is excellentlt written, these subjects are handled with aplomb.
As always this story reminds readers of the strong bonds of love between Eve and Roarke and how well suited they are to each other. Also, by now Roarke has pretty much has a carte blanche position when it comes to Eve's cases, often being called on for his expertise and connections.
I truly love this series, and it has become my favorite, which says a lot because I am a series fanatic and have read dozens of series, inclluding several that have reached a high number of double digit titles. J.D. Robb/Nora Roberts is an exceptional author and I look forward and highly recommend each and every book in this series.
Many thanks to St. Martin's Press and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
