I enjoyed this graphic novel. It's a coming of age tale set in the south, following a mom on the run and her son. I enjoyed the artwork, the characters, as well as the feelings that came through the pages. I would recommend this, it's a quick but enjoyable read.

Thank you to the publisher and to Netgalley for the advance copy of this book!

This book could have been very good if it would have been longer. It was a bit all over the place so if the author would slow down and fill in the gaps and make it longer, I think I would have loved it. However, I will be looking for other works in the future from this author.

Someday Comes Paradise sounded interesting, but was mostly all over the place and so packed that there was no time to breathe. Supposedly the story is a screenplay and could work like that, but there wasn't enough pages to pulls this off. The story is full of misfortune up to a point that you start to wonder how that can even be. Sam Starr and his mother Natalie are on the run because of what happened to the abusive father. They arrive on an island where the mother finds a guy and they could finally be a family again, except the guy is a drug trafficking criminal and the whole island works for him. Sam meets a girl of his dreams who prostitutes herself thanks to, well, everything. The whole thing is absurd even when you include the bomb testing site and a nuke. How much misfortune can there be? Obviously much more, since then we have a bloodbath and mostly everyone dies at the end.

The rhythm is off and too fast. The plot is hard to grasp and the characters are thin like paper. The mother is too attached to her son the whole thing being borderline creepy and all in all, this was a mess. The art is OK, but nothing spectacular. The colors are probably the best part, but it's not enough. I do like the title though.

This was just bad. Misogynistic drivel. The art was alright, but overall this was just terrible. I will not recommnend this one.

This was extremely misogynistic. The mom was sexualized at every turn. The girlfriend was essentially just a newer version of a manic pixie dream girl, only there to give the main character something to do with his life. There was also various racist elements as well. The main character was likeable but he was surrounded by a very unenjoyable story. It also felt too long, which is not something I often say about graphic novels. It felt dated and predictable but I am sure there is a certain sort of man who will enjoy this.

Thanks to the publisher for giving me a free copy.

I honestly feel like it was a very basic read. It didn't have an incredible story, but it was entertaining and not boring.

The drawing is good although quite simple.

Thank you to the publisher for giving me a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I got to be honest. This one was all over the place. I feel like this one should have been double the size because every time I had to go: "Oh so now they're there.." and then 2 pages after that: "Oooooh they are not there anymore." I think many extra windows would have helped this and I think this one would have been better if it were way longer.

The art style was fine. Nothing extraordinary but nothing bad either. It was readable and everything was noticable so that's good and preferred.
