Loud Mouth is the third book in the Ice Knights series by Avery Flynn. I read Parental Guidance (book #1) and I loved it, so I knew I had to give this book a chance. I didn't love it as much as I loved Parental Guidance, but even with some bumps I enjoyed the book and if asked, I would recommend it.

My main issue with the story is that I feel like Shelby and Ian barely spent any time in the cabin and got back to their normal lives pretty fast. The romance would have felt more believable to me, if they had been stranded for an extended amount of time because then they would have had more time to get to know each other. Something about Ian and Shelby's romanced seemed off to me, though it wasn't in a capacity that would make me change my view of the book.

I had a good time reading this story and it was a nice, light-hearted book that worked for me. It's a stand-alone, but at times I felt like I should have read the previous book first in order to understand a few situations in this book. The whole "Shelby opened her mouth and ruined Ian's life" thing was a little abrupt.

The two paragraphs above are the reason I am giving 4 stars to the book instead of 5. They are mostly small things, which days after finishing the book still bug me, but they didn't affect my view of the book negatively (much). I liked Ian's developing relationships with Shelby and Alex, his ex-best friend, and half brother. Also, there is one player who has a sad story and I want to see him get a happy ending too! Sebastian needs to be the next Ice Knight who will get a book!

Let me just start off by saying I love Avery Flynn's books, especially her hockey heroes, but I usually find myself in a love/hate relationship with some of her heroines. Such is the case with Loud Mouth. I really loved Ian from the beginning (but then I was waiting anxiously for his book), but Shelby was kind of a hard sell for me. She was a bit of a contradiction with the squeaky voice and bad-ass looks and persona so it took a beat for me to actually start liking her and to believe that the attraction between her and Ian was actually genuine. But I was invested in the story due to Ian and his backstory so I stuck to it and I'm glad I did. It was one heck of a ride, that's for sure! I just felt so sorry for Ian and the way his life was playing out in the media and how he goes somewhere to find refuge from it all and lands in the same place as the woman who set off the firestorm. Their interactions are fun, though, and the story is kind of amazing the way it all plays out, so I had fun reading it. Can't wait to see what's next in this series, from this author.

4 stars for Petrov and Blanton

Loudmouth is the third book in the (Ice Knights) series by Avery Flynn. It follows hockey player Ian Petrov and blogger Shelby Blanton.
Ian has always felt like he lived in his dad’s shadow, as the son of a previous ‘Hall of Fame’ winner.
His dad made sure he knew that Ian wasn’t as great a player as him. He was a real nasty piece of work. But, there was worse to come when he found out that his best friend was his half-brother, something his father had kept hidden all along.
Now, with the truth being outed and by Shelby no less, he’s desperate for some alone time to clear his head.
Shelby wants nothing more than to bury her head and wish for the secret to never have gotten out.
Both head for an isolated cabin, neither knowing that they have been set up and sent to the same one by a mutual friend.
Thanks to a snowstorm, they are forced to face their issues and get to know one another. One thing leads to another and soon they’re forgetting about being snowed in.
They make their own heat!!
They definitely shared undeniable chemistry and even though they agree that it’s a one-time hookup while they’re away from home, they just can’t help falling deeper as time goes on.
The tension between Ian and his brother, Alex Christenson plays into the story quite a bit, as does his terrible relationship with his father. David Petrov is a people-user and is out to make himself look good in the eyes of the public, whether it suits his sons or not.
When Shelby stands up to him, he’s quick to try and come between her and Ian. I liked how she didn’t take any of his nonsense in the end.
Overall, I really enjoyed this story, it’s fun and mostly light-hearted but with a few serious side pieces. Grab your copy today.

Loudmouth is a fantastic enemies to lovers hockey romance read. Avery Flynn has outdone herself with this book. As with the other books in the Ice Knight Series, Avery gives us main characters that are real and that suffer from real life issues (in such a way that draws awareness to it without it overpowering the book).

Ian is a sexy as puck hockey player. Following in his father’s famous hockey playing footsteps has left him feeling second best. He discovers that his deadbeat dad fathered another son, his BFF and teammate Alex. Talk.about.awkward.

Shelby is a recovering alcoholic and a successful hockey blogger. She is spunky and charismatic and so very different from the women Ian normally meets. She is also responsible for accidentally breaking the story about his brother from another mother.

Ian and Shelby are thrown together by Lucy (from Muffin Top - love her HARD) and forced to spend quality time together, all nice and cozy, when they get snowed in on vacation. What happens next is both funny and sexy as these two try to fight (and fail spectacularly) their attraction to one another.

What I love about Avery’s books is the lack of unnecessary drama. They are fantastic romcom, sexy times filled romance reads that will have you flipping through your Kindle as you gobble up every word. TBR this fantastic little book and if you haven’t read Book 1 and Book 2 in the series I highly recommend that you do.

This has been one I’ve been highly anticipating from Avery Flynn. I absolutely loved Ian and Shelby’s story. This book is such an addictive sweet love story that will have you consumed from the very start!

To start off with, I have to say I didn’t like Ian so much. He is bull headed, and has severe trust issues with good reason but he way he treats Shelby to begin with, let’s just say I wanted to physically hurt him a little bit lol.

Shelby is such a sweetie pie, but she’s also got some sassiness to her that puts Ian in his place. She’s got a passion for hockey, but she also has a past that’s made her become the strong, independent woman she is now.

This book is filled with off the charts sexual chemistry between Ian and Shelby, but also the banter between the two just makes this book that much more.

I have been a fan of Avery Flynn since I read Butterface and I love how the Hartigan series transitioned into the Ice Knights series. Loud Mouth has been a long awaited release for me and while I did enjoy it, I didn't love it as much as Parental Guidance and Awk-Weird. It's possible that it was due to my current headspace - Shelby and Ian are great characters with enough backstory to make them likable and relatable, but I felt like we could've gone deeper with both of them (especially considering the material there is to work with in their backgrounds). I would've loved more exploration of their daddy issues, more about Ian and Alex's relationship, and more of Shelby and Ian together on page besides the product of their insane(ly good) chemistry. I think I'll do a reread of the series and read Loud Mouth again to see if my thoughts/feelings change. 3.5 out of 5 wine glasses.

Loud Mouth is a wonderful addition to the Ice Knights series. Shelby Blanton accidentally revealed a secret about two players on the Ice Knights hockey team. The reveal alienated Ian Petrov and his former best friend to the point of hatred, and added Shelby to Ian's "ruiner of lives" list. When Shelby and Ian them find them snowed in at the same AirBnb, tension runs thick and it's not just because they don't want to be together. Succumbing to the sexual tensions seems like a safe bet because Ian and Shelby won't ever have to be together again....until they are pulled together into a publicity stunt.

Shelby is an independent, hard-core blogger with rocker hair, tattoos, and piercings galore. Who would have thought she was a hockey fiend with the most popular hockey blog. She's a strong character that has overcome a huge obstacle and led to the person she is today. Ian Petrov is continuously living the shadows of his slimy father, a hockey great. Ian has worked very hard to earn his own way in hockey. After he was sucker punched with information about his dad being a cheater and his best friend having insider information he neglected to share with Ian, he just crumbles. When Shelby and Ian unite after the catastrophe, their enemies-to-lovers story practically melts the pages. Their mutual hostility slowly disappears into a wonderful love story that almost wasn't.

I love Shelby and Ian's story. I enjoyed the way the author gave the characters flawed backgrounds, family issues, and true-to-life situations to handle. He might be a popular hockey player and she the blogger behind a wildly popular hockey blog, but they are not perfect. They don't need each other to fix the damage, deal with their pasts, or handle their present issues, but as support persons as they muddle their way through life. Of course, it's not easy and there are obstacles but Avery Flynn does a magnificent job of unraveling their layers and helping them move beyond the issues, especially Ian. I enjoyed the path the author took Shelby and Ian on in order find their happily-ever-after.

Avery Flynn is a wonderful storyteller with unique characters, themes, and settings. Her stories pull you in and keep you thoroughly engaged and entertained. I have enjoyed all three books in the Ice Knights series.

I am never disappointed in an Avery Flynn book. So funny, engaging, and once you start reading it, you don't want to stop.

This is a contemporary hot and steamy romance, despite much of it taking place around an ice rink or ice hockey game! Anyone who knows me, knows I enjoy watching ice hockey so when I saw this fun cover and that the story is by Avery Flynn, I just couldn’t resist reading it! Actually, that cover had me fooled for a while as I’d assumed the story would be suitable for YAs and this is definitely much hotter and steamier than I’d a been anticipating.

When her Mum calls on the first day of her new job as a blogger for the Ice Knights hockey team, Shelby Blanton never dreamt of the problems it would cause with Ian Petrov. Her Mum reveals secrets regarding two members of the hockey team, secrets a journalist overhears and publishes, revealing Ian and his best friend to be half-brothers. Wanting to escape the angst, Shelby travels a cabin for her to stay in for a week, not knowing that the person arranging this stay has also arranged for Ian to join her. A relationship with starts with sharing shocking secrets and moves on to shocking with a taser is definitely not going to be bland! This is a romcom by an author who is skilled in this genre. The story is a light, fun read with some very steamy action. It is an easy, relaxing read, great to escape into.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

This is the 3rd book in this series and its an a read that draws you in and keeps you entertained throughout.

Ian Petrov has been blindsided by a secret held by his Father. His best mate and team mate Alex is actually his half-brother. He doesn't handle the news well and ends up being off the team after hurting his thumb and rents a bnb in the mountains so he can drown his sorrows in peace and alone. He never expected to find the blogger that accidentally let the secret out already at the cabin.

After being snowed in the tension between them finally starts thawing but the chemistry between them starts to seriously heat up!

Avery Flynn brought humour, heat and banter to this one and im looking forward to seeing what she brings us next.

The perfect romantic comedy
5 stars

I’ll be honest, as much as I like - nay, love - Avery Flynn and her writing, I wasn’t sure if I was going to love this particular story for two reasons. 1) What kind of person outs secret brothers on a blog? Can I like someone who would do something like that? and 2) Can I like, or more like, can I identify with, a heroine who is obviously a total badass when I am so ridiculously not a badass?

My first question gets answered within the first few pages - and that worry dissolved. And secondly, while Shelby is definitely a badass with her funky hair, tats, piercings and general demeanour - she’s still completely relatable, even to a wimp like me! She’s got her problems just the same as the rest of us - probably more so than that - and I fell in love with her from the first moment. She’s a lovely blend of vulnerable and kickass - and I adored hearing her hilarious inner thoughts and, of course, the way she squares up against Ian.

Ian is equally delicious and I felt he had his vulnerabilities as well, although he hides them underneath his grumpy, grunty, gruff self. He is my kind of hero - all big and broody - and properly head over heels for the heroine - even if he’s a bit miffed at that fact. He too is hilarious, but this is Avery Flynn - of course he is! And a special mention for the bromance between Alex and Ian. Even when they hate each other, they can’t stop the banter. It makes my insides tingle!

And speaking of the tingles - this book is hella sexy. I mean it’s fan yourself in your special places just in case you’re on fire, sexy! You also just really want to smoosh Ian and Shelby’s faces together when they’re being stubborn and trying to stay away from each other. It’s delightfully infuriating.

This is an Avery Flynn book so of course it’s absolutely hilarious. I don’t just mean a small chuckle to myself - I laughed out loud on a number of occasions. Either Ms Flynn is stalking my brain or we were meant to be best friends! The fact that there’s sex and lots of swearing and I am one happy bunny.

This is the third book in the Ice Knights series (after Parental Guidance and Awk-Weird) but it stands completely alone. There are name checks for those from previous books, including Ms Flynn’s Hartigan’s series and Lucy Kavanaugh from that series appears more than most as she’s the Ice Knights’ PR queen.

I keep on forgetting how much I love Avery Flynn - she truly is the queen of the romcom. Loud Mouth is the kind of book that gives you that happy feeling - both from the romance and from the giggle you get while reading. Ian and Shelby are the perfect couple and I loved every minute of reading their story. Definitely 5 stars.

You will enjoy the latests from the Ice Knight family when you meet Ian and Shelby who are both a perfect match. Shelby finds herself at a cabin booked by her friend Lucy to get away from the drama of her leaking out some info that leads to a bestie breakup between two head players. Ian decides after finding out a bombshell that his best friend and fellow player has been hiding, that it is the perfect time to hideaway and disconnect for a few. Well life can sometimes have diffrent plans. Ian does not trust Shelby after she let out information that has caused this drama in his life and now he finds himself in close quarters with the Loud Mouth of media. Sparks fly when these two have no other choice than to face each other and try to make ammends.
Shelby is spunky and independent but a true sweetheart. She truly has no ill intentions or agendas. I loves her strong character. Ian was a big broody hockey player with a heart of gold. He is trying to live in his own shadow and not of his dad's who was a hockey great and currently also a jerk. These two had major sparks that would melt the Ice. Their first meeting at the beginning of the book is hilarious and it continues through the whole book. This was a great read from Avery as always.

Loud Mouth is a light steamy read that follows a hockey player and a blogger after a falling out that led to disastrous PR scandal. Avery Flynn delivered a quick and romantic about enemies to lovers that are easy to digest and enjoy at any moment. Their tension is palpable and also endearingly sweet. Their attraction to each other is undeniable from the get go and I think that's what makes this story so enjoyable. There is very low angst and aside from some situation that adds steam to the plot, it's not very hard to figure where these characters will land in the end. Overall a great addition to an amazing series featuring decent, swoon-worthy hockey players and the comical unique leading ladies.

I really enjoyed Loud Mouth by Avery Flynn.
The storyline is entertaining, well written and held my attention from start to end.

Shelby and Ian had me laughing and smiling throughout the book and I loved watching their relationship unfold. From hating each other to passionate lovers, these two had me turning the pages to see what they were up to next.

Overall, Loud Mouth is a great addition to the Ice Knights series and I highly recommend it.

Avery Flynn has easily become one of my go to authors for a good romantic comedy. I will legit laugh out loud while reading any of her books and I never have anything but good things to say about her books.
Loud Mouth which is now LIVE and it is part of the Ice Knights series (each book is a stand alone but characters do cross over) so you can expect a broody and strong hockey player with a feisty female counterpart.
Not only is Ian Petrov one of the broodiest alpha males I have ever read but I swear he turns into a whole other man with Shelby. These two are stubborn as heck and don’t believe in communication in no way but this book will take you on a light hearted & humorous journey and trust me, you don’t want to miss out!

Another good book in the series. Shelby unknowingly gives a reporter a tip that ends up blowing Ian’s life apart. He spirals out of control and basically hates everyone. When they end up renting the same house to get away, things don’t go according to plan. Once he realizes she didn’t purposely reveal the secret, his view on her changes. Unfortunately, their time together doesn’t end the way he wants it to and he has to decide how to move forward.
I found the honesty in this book refreshing. He was upset and had to work through the truth, and instead of blinking and him moving on, we actually got to see how keeping a huge secret for someone’s entire life, can affect them. I also liked how Shelby stood up for herself and had issues of her own but didn’t fall into old habits when things got bad. Finally, I liked how once Ian found a way to work through his pain, he had an epiphany about his entire life, and that he actually had Shelby to thank for some of it.
I have enjoyed this entire series, but I think Ian and Shelby’s story is my favorite so far. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

Oh how I loved Shelby! She was so strong, but vulnerable at the same time. I like how she was a planner, determined to make it one day at a time, was apologetic to Ian, but not letting him walk over her. Ian is a very likeable character, fun from the previous books in the series, until his world as he knew it imploded. Together they saw beneath each other's hardened exteriors and accepted each other for it. Until the huge misconception. That part made my heart hurt and I wanted to yell at certain characters. There is one character that you truly want to tell off, but that one gets their comeuppance. I thoroughly enjoyed the supporting characters in this story. Lucy is still my hero. And I smiled when Shelby favorite person made their reunion along with her father figure and his sweet nickname for her.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

"Loud Mouth" by Avery Flynn was another delightful addition to the Ice Knights series, and I loved it. It reads as a complete standalone so those who have not yet picked up the earlier books in the series can jump in here with no problems. That said, the first two books were also tremendously entertaining and laugh-out-loud funny, so I highly recommend them, no matter the order in which you read them.

The main characters of this story, Shelby Blanton and Ian Petrov, were both incredibly likeable and well-developed, and I found it very easy to root for them to figure out a way to be together. Shelby was an interesting character because she was so tough on the outside with her half-shaved head and tattoos, but she was protecting a tender heart and nursing a lot of old wounds. Petrov had his share of hidden wounds too, and I think that's one of the reasons they were drawn to each other. Shelby and Petrov fought their feelings for a lot of reasons, but in the end, they just worked as a couple, and I wanted to cheer when they finally stopped fighting and realized that they would be happier together than apart.

This story was a bit more serious than the previous two books in the series, but was still quite funny and lighthearted with several scenes that made me laugh out loud. My favorite was when Petrov was forced to play babysitter for an infant on the team plane. I have to admit he did pretty well for a guy who had no experience with babies, but it was very amusing to see his frustration along the way.

Overall, "Loud Mouth" was a funny, sweet story that I highly recommend for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy, particularly those who are fans of sports/hockey romances. Hopefully this isn't the last we'll see of the Ice Knights! At the very least, I'd love to see Alex Christensen get a story of his own. ;-)

Ian is a professional hockey player who has just had a family secret that he didn’t know about exposed in the most public way possible and he is feeling betrayed not only by his family but by his best friend and teammate as well. All he wants is to escape the media frenzy that has overtaken his life and decides seclusion in a mountain cabin is exactly what he needs but finding out he is snowbound with the woman who started everything was not part of the plan.

When a private conversation between Shelby and her mother is overheard, she never expected it to revealed and she certainly didn’t expect that one of the parties involved had no knowledge of the situation. She figures a little time and distance will allow everyone to absorb the revelation, but escaping Ian is easier said than done.

Shelby and Ian were so much fun together and from their first meeting the spark flew. Humorous interactions, hot chemistry and two characters who are perfect for each other even if they didn’t get off to a great start.

Loud Mouth is the third book in Avery Flynn’s Ice Knights series and it is a must read! It can be read as a stand-alone but I recommend reading the books in order.

Ian and Shelby definitely start off on the wrong foot but the mutual attraction was there from the beginning. I loved the will they-won’t they push and pull of their relationship. I really liked both Shelby and Ian and thought they were both relatable. I definitely recommend this one and my fingers are crossed that we get Alex’s story someday!
