This is book 5 in the series and it's every bit as delightful as the previous 4. It only stands to reason that Amy is going to become involved in a murder mystery right before her wedding to Richard. This book can definitely be read as a standalone bit I would recommend reading the previous books in the series to understand the history between the characters. This book has plenty of layers and is full of likable characters. Definitely a delightful book in my opinion.

A first by me by This author will not be my last. Though I read a a standalone I had no issues with it other than wondering how I missed this series and can't wait to read the others! Giving all the cozy vibes I look for in the genre it didn't disappoint! Amy and Richard are celebrating their engagement party when a body is found. With one month till the big day can they find the killer in time to safely make it ? Great characters and storyline.

I tried really hard to get into this book because this has been a favorite series of mine for years now, but it just never picked up for me, and I finally abandoned it at 50%. Though there were many beloved characters involved in the story, the plot just felt like a repetition of previous books in the series, and even the details of Amy and Richard's wedding couldn't keep my interest, This author is one of the most talented cozy mystery writers in the field, and I will absolutely give her future books a chance. This one just wasn't up to the standard set by previous books in the series.

Amy and her fiance Richard are at a party celebrating their upcoming wedding hosted by Kurt. When a rival art dealer is discovered murdered, Kurt is the main culprit. This series always has a more upscale undertone than the average cozy. Kurt adds a sense of intrigue to the story with his mysterious background. I enjoy the series overall and this book was a nice addition.

This is the first book in this series that I have read. I will be catching up on previous books. A man is killed at an engagement party. There is a shady man who everyone is sure does illegal things or used to.Things tie back to main characters uncle.

There was never any doubt that Amy’s wedding would have issues pop up, given her tendency to get involved in situations that lead to murder, but in A Deadly Edition, even she is surprised at what happens before the planning is done. Life is never dull, even at the library when Amy and Richard get together with family and friends, add in a rare book, parents, and a brother, as well as a few unexpected guests, and you have everything you need for a mystery that thrills.

The characters in this series have always been entertaining and highly likable. I adore Aunt Lydia and think an entire series could be created based on her. She may be a bit too stubborn, but she is endearing none-the-less. Other characters in this book are fun to learn about and spend a few hours investigating, mainly Sunny and Karen. Even with the wedding plans and her library duties, Amy still finds another body and danger. It’s personal when a friend is being accused of a crime, again. Suspects are all around and may even include members of her family. Amy, Sunny, and even Scott, Amy’s brother, waste no time launching into the investigation.

Suspects are easy to find, motives are as well. Yet, it isn’t always apparent who the killer is or if the motive is the rare book Kurt and the victim are fighting over. Evidence keeps pointing to various individuals but none more than Kurt. Yet, Amy knows Kurt isn’t guilty; she just has to prove it. The wedding preparations continue, as does Amy’s work at the library, which she uses in her investigation and leads to more questions than answers. Readers will love the complicated storyline, the animated characters, and the .result of the investigation when the killer is revealed.

Overall A Deadly Edition is a wonderful addition to the series. Who doesn’t enjoy library intrigue, the art world fascination with rare books, or people who are not always what they seem? Readers will get lost in this story and spend quality time with characters that get better with each new volume.

Anything by Victoria Gilbert is an auto-buy for me. I loved this book so much! Getting to see our protagonist become more comfortable in her own skin, falling in love, and then solving the murder!

In Victoria Gilbert's A Deadly Edition, the 5th installment in the Blue Ridge Library cozy mystery series, this captivating caper will leave you in suspense. A few days before Amy Webber's wedding to Richard Muir, she wanted to finalize the rest of her wedding preparations with her friends and family. But during a wedding party, things got interesting when an art dealer named Oscar Selvaggio made an appearance and asking for a rare edition of a book's location. Later after a confrontation, he turned up dead at the scene. While Amy deals with library books and her wedding preparations, she looks for answers and meets some unsavory characters along the way including someone named Cynthia Rogers, who wanted one of her late uncle's paintings that wasn't up for sale. Before she can say I do, she became a hostage to the culprit's path and discovers the truth on whodunit and why in the end.

I loved the opening line “Sometimes chocolate is the only thing standing between me and murder.”

It’s spring in Taylorsford, VA, Amy and Richard are planning their wedding and naturally she stumbles upon a dead body, being the town’s unofficial investigator of course she wants to figure out who done it!

This is my first book in the Blue Ridge Library series and while I ultimately liked the ending, it was fairly easy to figure out who was involved in the death but not the reason behind it. The mystery was dragged out a bit too long in my opinion.

I do believe I will continue with this series as I enjoyed the location and main characters. Amy,Richard and their families and friends as well as the locals who frequent the library that Amy runs.

Thank you to Netgalley for an advance copy of this book, all opinions are my own.

I am actually surprised that I disliked this book as much as I did. I usually LOVE Amy Webber and her little town of Taylorsford. I think the problem I had was that the ultimate suspect isn't introduced until WELL into the book. It almost felt like the direction wasn't there from the beginning and it had to run to catch up at the end. I know cozy mysteries throw in a lot of red herrings to keep you off the trail, but when you're 60% through the book, jump to 90% and haven't missed much of anything, it feels like fluff;. I will still read about Amy and Richard. I am excited for their upcoming life together, but this one fell slightly flat for me.

This is another good addition to the library series by Victoria Gilbert. If you have been reading the series, you will be happy to know that the high-jinx continue. New readers will definitely want to start at the beginning of this series to catch all the details.

This was such a fun, cozy mystery! There's something really atmospheric about wedding murder mysteries, and A Deadly Edition was no different. This is the fifth book in the Blue Ridge Library Mysteries, but I had no trouble reading it as a standalone. That being said, I hope to pick up the first four books in the series, given how wonderful all the characters were in A Deadly Edition.

The twists and turns in the plot made reading this book such a compelling read! I was kind of happy when the murderer was revealed, since I suspected that person myself too 😂 I loved Amy, and how she was determined to find out who the murderer was. The only complaint I have about the book is the number of characters - there were too many people which made it hard for me to follow the story at present. The plot kind of shifted to focus on the sub-plots couple of times too, which I wasn't really a fan of.

Overall, 3.75/5 ⭐

Kurt, art dealer and collector, extraordinaire, hosts an engagement party for Amy and Richard. An uninvited guest shows up a the party. He and Kurt are both trying to buy a rare book from William Morris's Kelmscott Press.
Oscar the uninvited guest winds up dead in Kurt's shed. Any of a number of people could have killed him. Amy finds herself determined to find the killer. After all, one of the suspects is her brother and she is not quite certain what it is that he does. He might work with computers. He might work for the government, but how does this all tie in with his extended visit to his family?
There are lots of characters and lots of subplots going all at the same time, which can make it a bit confusing for the reader. We are left wondering if the wedding really will come off and if the murderer will be caught? And what about that rare book everyone is raving about?

It’s the wedding we’ve been looking forward to, library director Amy Webber and her fiancé choreographer and dancer, Richard Muir will soon be walking down the aisle. The couples friend art collector, Kurt Kendrick is holding a party to celebrate the upcoming event. It’s crashed by Oscar Selvaggio, an art dealer, and Kurt’s rival. Both are trying to purchase a rare edition of a book from William Morris’s Kelmscott Press. Before the gentlemen can meet Mr. Selvaggio is found dead and Kurt is the prime suspect. Amy is determined to clear Kurt’s name.

One of the reasons I love Ms. Gilbert’s books so are because the characters and their relationships are so realistic! It was wonderful to meet and get to know Amy’s brother and the wedding was beautiful! I can’t wait for the next update!

A charming cozy mystery courtesy of Victoria Gilbert. This is the 5th book in the series and you don’t need to review the previous ones to follow along. However there is a rich history between many characters that I felt I missed out on. I will say I figured out the suspect early on but the many possibilities made it fun to follow along.

Thanks to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the arc.

Another interesting mystery featuring Amy and her friends. I enjoyed seeing Amy finally marry Richard in this book and the mystery definitely kept me guessing as I read. Another solid installment from a likable cozy series.

This is the fifth book in the Blue Ridge Library Mysteries series but the first one I have read. Although I didn't find it difficult to follow the story and the characters, I do want want to read the previous books since I found all the characters interesting and want to know more about them and how their storyline progressed to bring them at the point they all are in this book. It had quite a lot happening on the mystery front but it was easy to follow and entertaining as well.

My thanks to NetGalley, the publisher Crooked Lane Books and the author Victoria Gilbert for the e-Arc of the book. The book was published on 8th December 2020.
