This was an entertaining entry in the series but it did seem a little too convoluted for a cosy mystery.

I was happy to see Amy and Richard make it to their marriage ceremony and I enjoyed the details about the wedding itself. However there were too many spies and too many dodgy art dealers and at times it all became too hard to follow. I have an issue too with the quality of the dialogue which is very stilted at times and not at all the way friends speak to each other.

Nevertheless lets be fair. It is a good story, the characters are all nice, the wedding is wonderful and the mystery is okay if a little easy to solve. A very readable book altogether. I wonder if the author will continue with the series now her main characters have married.

Wow! What a twist at the end! Amy and Richard are getting married, and it's all in peril due to Amy trying to figure out who killed Oscar Selvaggio at a party held at Kurt's home. Lots of new characters come to Taylorsford, all involved in either the wedding or the mystery. Quick read for a cold day, curled up in a blanket. This series is a must read!

A librarian prepares to head down the aisle to get married and has to solve a murder mystery on the way. While this is the 5th installment in the Blue Ridge Library series, this is the first one I've read, and so I wasn't caught up on the past stories and the characters' histories. I did enjoy the setting and characters (and I thought this book has particularly interesting supporting characters!) and all of the fun literary references. I would want to go back and catch up on the first four books before continuing, in order to get the full experience of the series. Thanks to Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books for the advance digital copy!

Amy Webber and Richard Muir are weeks away from their wedding. At their engagement party, an uninvited guest winds up dead. Amy can’t help getting involved. Her research turns up some interesting information about people we’ve encountered in past books.
Amy’s brother Scott is in town and he has secrets that cause a bit of worry. Aunt Lydia is having a bit of trouble with her beau. More of Kurt’s questionable past comes to light. The “Esmerelda” of Book 4 plays a role in this book.
The story is an involved web that builds on previous books and crescendos to a beautiful wedding after all the scary bits are done.
The author does a terrific job with bring bits and pieces of the series together. I would love for the series to continue but if this were the end it does have a lovely conclusion.

Another ok entry in this series. I kept checking to see how far I was, thinking the end was near, nope 40%, 50%, 60% and at 70% I started changing pages faster to force myself to read faster. I knew who it was before the half way mark this time.

So, while the mystery had a ton of twists and turns, knowing who was responsible took the fun out of it and I was wishing the characters had deduced it sooner as well. I will say the wedding was the nicest, most practical and believable I've read. OK, maybe not the necklace.

The author continues to give a nod to the LGBTQ community with a tertiary character falling into that category. Kudos for the person falling into a less well known orientation.

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Geez. Amy and Richard are soooooo close to getting married and then, of course, they discover a body. Oscar and Kurt, their host, had dueled with one another over the purchase of a rare book. Kurt might have had some darkness in his past but Amy's convinced he didn't kill his rival. Of course, she's gotta use her research skills to help untangle the mystery. And, she enlists her Aunt Lydia and her friend Sunny in the effort. Cozy readers know Kurt wasn't the one who did it and that Oscar had more enemies than friends. This is a nicely written mystery that turns, for me at least, on the characters, especially Amy. The setting is good, the dialogue snappy, and there are enough red herrings to keep you guessing. I've been a fan of this series and recommend this latest even as a standalone. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. But what about the wedding? No spoilers from me.

I do not know if this is going to be the last book in this series, but at last they married and it is more than enough for me. The crime is just another complementary story.

Non so se questo sará l'ultimo libro di questa serie, ma almeno si sono sposati e per me é piú che abbastanza. Il giallo era solo una storia di contorno.

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

Amy and Richard find a dead body while celebrating their upcoming wedding. Amy is working full time while planning the wedding and now she works on solving a mystery as well. The characters are great in this series. You just want to become friends and the story is very good as well. I'm looking forward to the next book already!

Not having read the other books in this series I was lost on the characters background. I did enjoy the library scenarios, the romance, and easily figured out who was the killer early on. Recommend one read the other books in this series first.

Planning a wedding and solving a mystery a librarian's work is never done or dull. The characters were interesting to say the least and if you love books with a library theme, then this read is for you. I think I will go back and read the previous books by this author.

Amy's big day is at hand and there are copious amounts of details to be completed, including the inclusion of the mother of the groom. Amy and her in-laws haven't really hit it off but that cannot be helped nor, it seems that they don't get along with Richard either. This is not the time to worry with such trifles, after all a man has been found dead in the garden shed and it appears to be relateed to questionable artwork. This book wastes no time in setting the seen, hightening the emotions and then introducing the murder. Aunt Lydia's beau, Hugh Chen, thinks that Kurt Kendrick is to blame and while he is not exactly a squeaky clean businessman, Amy has a gut feeling that he is not to blame. There are several people who seem a bit sketchy in this one including the deceased. It seems that there might be more than one closet with skeletons. On the brighter side of things I adore Amy's wedding gift for Richard, I am not sure how she managed to find time for that while working full time, wedding prepping part time and sleuthing the other part of the time. As with the other installments in this cozy series, this one delivers mystery, murder, and a nice start to what is sure to be a lasting marriage. I look forward to the next edition.

The fourth installment in the series leads to the nuptials of Amy and Richard, but not before Amy stumbles over another body. Lots of secrets are revealed in is mystery which involve drugs, a valuables book, Amy's uncle and aunt and her brother. I liked the mystery plot, it added pizazz to the wedding. I liked understanding more about Scott Webber. I even started to warm up to Richards parents. The ending was perfect.

A Deadly Edition by Victoria Gilbert is the 5th book in the Blue Ridge Library Mystery series, and another enjoyable read. Amy Webber is the library director in Taylorsford, Virginia. Amy is getting ready for her wedding to Richard Muir. Unfortunately Richard finds the body of an art dealer, at their engagement party. Determined the police suspect the wrong man, the sleuthing begins. Once I started this book I could not stop reading it. It was a quick read that kept me guessing. I look forward to the next book in the series. I recommend this book for all cozy mystery book lovers, you will not be disappointed.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

In the fifth installment of the Blue Ridge Library series, we find Amy and Richard preparing for their upcoming wedding. Amy is a librarian in the village and Richard is a dancer. At an engagement party for them at a friend's house, an art dealer is found dead. Amy and Richard are the unfortunate ones to find the dead guest.

I really enjoy these characters. This one was perhaps a bit lighter on the mystery part simply because writing about wedding preparations is more fun. We get to meet Amy's brother Simon whose job is a bit mysterious. Aunt Lydia is very much present. We also get to spend time in the library with the quirky characters there.

I would not recommend reading this book before reading any of the other books in the series. It is not that you can't but you certainly won't get the full impact of seeing the wedding come together. In addition, there is a plot point that is touched on in the last book. I will definitely look forward to the next book.

The fifth installment of the Blue Ridge Library series finds Amy and Richard preparing for their upcoming wedding when murder interrupts. At a party to celebrate their nuptials, the couple discovers the dead body of a slightly disreputable art dealer.

Victoria Gilbert writes an entertaining cozy, balancing the murder mystery with wedding activities, creating an evenly paced story. The author deftly shares warm moments around wedding activities, adding depth to the cast of familiar characters. A good mystery and a little more intimate view of life in Blue Ridge.

A Deadly Edition by Victoria Gilbert is the fifth book in the Blue Ridge Library series. After reading A Deadly Edition I am eager to read books 1-4. Amy and Richard are getting married but murder does not take a break for wedding preparations and neither does Amy in her pursuit to find out who murdered Kurt.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher Crooked Lane for an ARC of this book.

3.75 stars

This is a strong entry in the Blue Ridge Library mystery series featuring librarian Amy Webber. Amy's wedding to her love Richard is imminent, but a murder intrudes into the pre-wedding festivities when a mysterious stranger is found murdered at a party beforehand.

This might work as a standalone, but there is a lot of background in the other books that would be helpful. There is a strong supporting cast, including Amy's Aunt Lydia, her best friend Sunny, and other assorted friends and small town residents.

Amy is a researcher at heart and can't help but investigate. The murder victim had unsavory ties to several motive worthy operations: art scams, drug dealings, etc. And the unexpected appearance of Amy's brother Scott who has an undefined job in the government that is pretty secretive makes Amy wonder what exactly is going on.

A nice balance between a fairly complex plot and the fairly low-key wedding preparation. Thanks to the publisher and to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I love a good mystery and I love a good story set in a library or bookstore and this book has both. Victoria Gilbert weaves together a cast of characters that you want to get to know and that you want to be a part of while also giving a ripping mystery. I can't wait to read more from this author.
