I received an e-ARC on NetGalley for an honest review.

I liked this cozy mystery, but as is unfortunately the case when you start in the midst of a series, it can seem like you're missing something. The author does a good job at setting the stage for the story with the characters and locations, but without that read history of the previous books, I find it a bit lacking. Maybe if I go back to read the other books I might enjoy this more.

"Sometimes chocolate is the only thing standing between me and murder." From that opening line, I knew this book would be a winner.

The writing reminds me of the Meg Lanslow series - good characters, good mystery, fun writing. It's everything you expect in a cozy mystery. It has the added perk of a librarian as a main character and includes a rare illustrated book in the middle of the plot.

This is the fifth Blue Ridge Library Mystery, but the first that I've read. You can absolutely pick up the book and understand what's happening, but I think readers would get more out of it if they started at the beginning of the series.

This book is definitely one for those of us who love cosy crime *series* - it took a little while to really get into the murder mystery itself, and was peppered throughout with references to things that had happened in earlier books. As this is the first Blue Ridge Library Mystery I’ve read, there area few things that went over my head.

My own solution will be to read the first four novels - I like the character of Amy Webber, and I enjoyed the atmosphere of the small town of Taylorsford - it reminds me of my home town in many ways, especially the way in which everyone knows everyone else’s business, and though I wouldn’t want to live there, it’s nice to be a fly on the wall.

The murderer was hinted quite early on, and I enjoyed seeing how their story emerged. It’s difficult to write about the plot line without spoilers, but suffice it to say that Amy finds out more about a shady family member and there are tensions throughout as both they and a family friend fall under the suspicion of Amy and her fiancée Richard.

I wasn’t so keen on the final chapter - I’m not a fan of weddings, and in any case I like a crime novel - even in the cosy genre - to wind up almost as soon as the mystery is solved. However, that’s probably just me and my killjoy spirit. All in all, I’d recommend A Deadly Edition to others, though suggest they read the earlier books in the series to get the full benefit.

What was a girl to do to save her wedding from being derailed, when a murder occurred during a party in their honor? Why solve it of course, and that is exactly what Amy set about doing. There was one thing Amy couldn’t resist a good puzzle especially if it dropped right in her lap. Her investigative juices and curiosity began flowing maddeningly, kicking her sleuthing skills into high gear. I enjoyed reading this story, it was a captivating, intriguing, and very entertaining must-read.

During the reception celebrating Amy and Richards upcoming wedding at the home of an art dealer with questionable ethics Amy once again finds a body. This one happens to be a rival art dealer who is in pursuit to acquire a rare illustrated book that her host is also interested in purchasing.

As the suspect list grows and old indiscretions are close to resurfacing Amy worries that the fallout could impact her wedding negatively. As the wedding date gets closer she is more desperate to get to the bottom of the mystery.

The worlds of art dealing and collectors is explored as is te world of dance. Richard is a dance professor, It is an interesting story filled with likable characters. Even some of the shady ones are endearing, This is a stand alone novel even with the previous connections being explored more deeply between the main characters, I enjoy the stories much better when supporting characters are just as well written as the main ones. This one fits the bill nicely.

Amy and Richard’s wedding day is getting closer and closer! Unfortunately, at their engagement party an unexpected guest dies suddenly. The guest wasn’t there for them, but for the party host, Kurt. Once again the past is casting shade on the future as Amy untangles potential motives and how they are connected to her loved ones. Fans of the Blue Ridge Library series and cozy mystery lovers will be delighted with the book. Gilbert does a great job of keeping readers on their toes with the various clues and motives.

I enjoyed this book,, and meeting Amy's brother Scott was interesting - just have to wonder exactly what he does.
The mystery was interesting, and I do enjoy all of the characters. The relationship between Amy and Richard is nice and glad to see some others might be working out as well.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love the Blue Ridge Library cozy mystery series and each book gets better! A Deadly Edition is book #5 and is my favorite. Amy and Richard are engaged and their wedding is quickly approaching. At their engagement party, an uninvited guest dies. Is it a heart attack or something more sinister. There are only a few suspects but the book kept me guessing until the end, Very enjoyable! #NETGALLEY #ADeadlyEdition

In this 5th installment of the Blue Ridge Library Mysteries Amy and Richard are getting married. Lots of celebrations but a lot of mystery and murder too. I have enjoyed this series from the beginning and wonder how much more there will be.

Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher, Crooked Lane for an ARC is exchange for a honest opinion.

Amy Webber, Librarian of the Blue Ridge Library, is about to be married to dancer Richard Muir. The book begins at a party at the home of Kurt Kendrick to celebrate the forthcoming marriage. Near the end of the party, Amy and Richard go outside to kiss, and they hear a loud crash. They run to a garden shed, and fin the body of Oscar Selvaggio under a tarp. Selvaggio, supposedly a friend of Kurt, appeared at the party uninvited. He and Kurt were supposedly trying to purchase the same rare book with illustrations.

Amy, her aunt Lydia and Lydia's new admirer Hugh Chen, Amy's brother Scott, and best friend Sunny quickly get into detective mode. The police feel Kurt is a prime suspect because he was trying to purchase the same book. It turns out that this book was also part of a scandal several years before, involving Selvaggio and the father of Adele (a dancer friend of Kurt and Richard) and possibly Uncle Andrew. A few new folks in town include a man who seems to have it in for Kurt as well as Salvaggio's assistant and another man, Fred Nash, who takes a shine to Sunny.

As we get closer to wedding time, the detectives and amateur detectives work on and some of the folks are in a lot of danger as wedding preparations continue and suspicions abound. This is a great addition to an excellent series.

Deadly Edition by Victoria Gilbert is the 5th book in a series. This is the first book I have read by this author. This book was a bit slow and tedious. I did not connect with any of the characters. Maybe I would have felt different if I had read the series from the beginning. After reading this book, I will not go on to read to the rest of the series.

Number five in the series and it's worth reading them first. Librarian, Amy, and her neighbor and dance instructor, Richard are finally getting married. Kurt, their sort of friend and possibly shady art dealer throws their engagement party at his large house. when an uninvited and unknown guest is found murdered. With several strangers in town can Amy and Richard find out who the murderer is and why this man was killed at their party.

This is a good series to read if you like librarians as main characters, as I do. It's one you must read in order to understand all of the characters' relationships and motivations. This story involves events from some of the characters' or relatives of characters' pasts. Amy and Richard are getting married, and that's the fun part of this story. The mystery part of the story gets a bit tangled, but it all gets straightened out in the end. I like this series, so I was excited to read this ARC.
I received an Advance Review Copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

A wedding, a mystery, a library and great characters all thrown in the blender and out pops a delightful afternoon read. It was my first book in the series, but it will NOT be my last.

What could possibly happen when a librarian and a dance choreographer get married? A death that involves government agencies and a dark family secret? Sure! Cozy mysteries can be both believable and a liitle out there in the same breath, whicis probably why we love them. The deepening of characters and the varied lust of suspects makes this a solid read.

This was a great cozy mystery with characters and a plot that keep you guessing. I couldn't put it down until the last page. I can't wait until the next story in this series. I received an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.

Prior to this book I have only read book four in the Blue Ridge Library Mystery series. It was enough to give me some background on the main characters and their relationships.
It did seem a bit odd to have federal agents and a somewhat nebulous task force as part of this cozy mystery. In a cozy mystery you expect cats, which did show up, but not usually the Feds. And they were really a little too free with handing out what should have been classified information.
Even so, it was an enjoyable mystery and a lovely ending. I always cry at weddings and I did have to pull out the kleenex.
Thanks to NetGalley for this early read.

Here comes the bride... Stumbling into yet another mystery.

Librarian Amy Webber is just weeks away from marrying Richard Muir, and the lovebirds couldn't be happier. That is, until they stumble across the body of an art dealer at a party celebrating their upcoming nuptials... a party that happened to be hosted by Kurt Kendrick, who happened to trying to acquire the same piece as the deceased. And although Amy and Richard know that Kurt has been involved in some, ahem, shady work in the past, neither of them believe that Kurt should be at the top of the suspect list. This close to walking down the aisle, Amy doesn't want to get involved... but that doesn't stop her curiosity from getting the better of her. If there's one thing Amy knows for sure, it's that solving a mystery requires a lot of research. And when you need a lot of research done, you need a librarian.

The fifth thrilling title in the Blue Ridge Library mystery series, "A Deadly Edition" finds our favorite Librarian once again putting her skills to great use as she sorts through the past to understand the present, trailing suspects, dodging danger... all while running a library and preparing to marry the love of her life! (*sigh* Richard.... Love that man...) Readers of the previous installments are going to love seeing the familiar faces, learn more of the enigmatic Kurt Kendrick, wish we were eating Aunt Lydia's cakes, hang out with Sunny, and cluck their tongues as "The Nightingale" does what she does best! Plus the addition of some new faces, namely Amy's mysterious brother, Scott, who supposedly works in cybersecurity... but does he? (Dun dun DUH!)

Full of Gilbert's wonderful suspect list, plot twists, beautifully written small-town life in Taylorsford, and--of course--finally watching Amy and Richard tie the knot, "A Deadly Edition" is one of the best books in the series yet!

Perhaps it was the likability of the 'bad guy'' and my struggle with the lead character, Amy, that had me struggling with this book. Somehow he came across as the authentic one and as such I found him to be the one who was intriguing and engaging.

There are the usual red herrings so while I worked out some aspects of the storyline out, I didn't guess whodunnit,

While it is part of a series, I had no problem with it as a stand alone novel.

My thanks to #Netgalley, #Crookedlanepublishers and the author for my advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

What's better than the few weeks before a wedding? For Amy & Richard they have the excitement of last minute preparations, and then a murder thrown into the mix. At a party in their honor, an unexpected guest takes a turn for the worst. Who did it and why? Twists and turns, last minute drama and a beautiful happy ending. Thanks to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for a chance to pre-read this latest in a delightful series as a kindle edition.
