An entertaining cozy mystery. The characters shine in this series with unique personalities and unconventional jobs for some people (Amy's fiancé is a well-known male choreographer but he isn't gay) but they are very relatable. As with all the best cozy series, the more books in the series you read the richer the experience is as you get to really know the characters and their histories but you can still read this book without any of the others and easily understand everything.

It was a decent mystery with many suspects though I thought the culprit was fairly obvious. It had enough surprises and twists to keep me reading and even some heart-pounding moments. Amy and Richard are a sweet couple with real moments of intimacy that don't feel fake or age inappropriate (they don't act like teenagers) and is completely chaste (there aren't even any fade to black moments). This is well written and a fun series to keep coming back to.

I received a free copy of this book thanks to Netgalley.com and the publisher in return for a fair and impartial review.

Amy Webber and Richard Muir are finally getting married. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but on this evening they're just going to enjoy themselves. Kurt Kendrick, the enigmatic man who's become their friend, is hosting an engagement party at his home. Unfortunately, an unannounced person has shown up at Kurt's door, and since Kurt knows him, Oscar Selvaggio has become a guest, but not a very nice one.

It seems both Kurt and Oscar are vying to purchase a rare book from William Morris's Kelmscott Press, and although Amy can tell there is tension between them, she also sees other things which look suspicious, but tries not to be too distrustful because of the reason she's there. But when Selvaggio is found dead, and she later learns that he was poisoned, she wonders if the things she saw could be clues as to the murderer. While Kurt is high on the list, she refuses to believe that he killed Selvaggio. But that leaves a whole other set of suspects, and none of them are savory. Now Amy wants to find out who killed the man, and before her wedding...but will there ever be one?...

I have followed this series from the very first book, and I will tell you that while I wasn't impressed with that one, I am glad that I've stuck with this series. I've enjoyed spending time with Amy and her family and friends; and watched her relationship with her next-door-neighbor Richard grow into love. It's been an interesting journey, and I certainly hope it will continue.

I have always been fascinated with Kurt Kendrick, who has a checkered past, is also fiercely protective of those he cares for. He is now a wealthy art dealer (among other things), and it is this mysteriousness of his which has drawn me to him in every book.

In this one, it is things from his past that have come back to him, and Amy wants to know what is going on. She's also concerned with the fact that her younger brother Scott, whom she rarely sees, is now in attendance for her wedding, but still keeping secrets from her. Then there's her Aunt Lydia's boyfriend Hugh, who still seems to be searching for evidence against Kurt about anything, and his new colleague Fred Nash, who seems to have taken up a liking for her best friend Sunny.

With so much swirling about her, it's a wonder she can keep anything quiet in her head. But Amy, being the intrepid person that she is, isn't going to give up trying to solve the puzzle, and I do like the fact that she's careful and doesn't run around accusing everyone she meets of murder. I also like that fact that Richard accepts Amy for the person she is and doesn't hound her to stay out of the investigation, but he does, as is expected, tells her to be careful and not put herself in danger.

With so many questions about the people who are around her, Amy has the need to know what's happening and is surprised at what she discovers but yet knows it isn't anything she can share easily; and I do like that this time out she's changing in her feelings toward Kurt (whom, as I've stated before, is the best character in the series).

When the murderer is discovered, the motive for the murder is discovered, and of course we have a climax that was to be expected, and worth reading all the while. In the end, everything comes together flawlessly; it makes for a highly satisfying ending that makes us long for the next in the series. Recommended.

This is the first book of the series I've read, so I'll admit there were several references I didn't entirely get. The book starts off sort of clunky but improved as it went on, though the "bad guy" was pretty obvious.

Acquisition Of Rare Book Turns Murderous.....
The race to acquire a rare edition of a book turns murderous in this Blue Ridge Library mystery. Enjoyable amateur sleuthing, a cast of colourful characters and a delightful setting makes this a very enjoyable and overall fun read.

Thank you so much for introducing me to this author! I enjoyed reading this intriguing murder mystery.
“A Deadly Edition” is good book with a good storyline and interesting characters. I will definitely check out more books written by Victoria Gilbert.

This book started out rather confusing to me but finally got it straightened out. Once the body of Mr. Selvaggio was found. Amy the amateur sleuth got involved to try to help with the who dine it part. I really did not figure how who did it until they actually decided who did it, I enjoyed this story. A good read.

Amy and Richard are barely a week away from their wedding, when once again murder interrupts their lives. This time Amy's brother may have something to do with the death, and she can't just sit around and watch as he is treated as a suspect. We continue to learn more about all of the characters, and the plot is well developed and moves at a good pace. The series is only getting better with each book.

This one was quite the page-turner. Any time more family 'arrives' in a book, I know that we'll learn even more about the sleuth. Not only do we need to find a killer, but the 'mystery' of the brother also kept me reading.

I found this mystery to be well-done with believable characters that I think that I could connect with and really enjoy a dinner with them.

This is a series that I've read from the beginning and I'm looking forward to reading more.

Another quickpaced library cozy with fun characters whose stories progressed well along with the mystery. The ending was a bit convoluted for me given all the actors and i feel like Esmeralda could have had a larger more intriguing role. Also Scotts story ended without much context either. Mission accomplished?? Still a good read with a few loose ends.

In "A Deadly Edition", Amy Webber is planning her wedding to her fiance, Richard, while solving a murder that implicates a close family friend. I hadn't read any previous books from the series, so it took awhile to understand the characters and their relationships with each other. However, once I got into the book, it was an enjoyable read. I was able to follow the plot fairly easily and was fully invested in finding out who the killer was. The ending was a little confusing as I felt it was rushed tying some of the loose ends together but I will definitely pick up another one of the author's books.

I had the pleasure of reading an arc of this book. This book is a well rounded read, it has secrets, romance and a murder mystery.

This book was so much fun. I love any book with a library and characters but this one had really quirky fun characters. The story was lively but intriguing. There were twists to keep me surprised, clean romance, a hint of espionage, and an ending I never saw coming. A book worth more than 5 stars.

In A Deadly Edition, Amy has a lot on her plate: she's planning her dream wedding to Richard, working as a library director, helping friends and family (including puzzling out the return of her secret agent brother), and, of course, trying to solve a murder!

The people who populate Amy's world make the book well worth reading although as someone jumping in at book 5 in the series, it took me a little while to sort everyone out.

The heart of the mystery in the book revolves around the Kelmscott Chaucer, a neat intersection of literary history and art history; this element alone was enough to pull me in and keep me more interested than a typical cozy mystery plot, and I really appreciated the details about the book itself the author provided.

The setting is described very well throughout the story, and the romantic elements also make this book fun to read.

I'm adding book 1 in the series to my TBR list; it will be fun to get to know Amy and her friends from the beginning of their stories.

Thanks to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for sending me a preview of this book before its publication!

Richard and Amy are preparing to celebrate their wedding, but someone might just off the bridal party if they don't solve the mystery surrounding the death of a party crasher! Once again this library series has scored a big bouquet as a winning plot, excellent characters and mysterious murder delight and entertain for hours on end! If you haven't put this series on your TBR list, what are you waiting for as this series is sure to be one of your all time favorites! I absolutely couldn't put this book down and I am anxiously awaiting the next in the series to be ready to be devoured!

I received this ARC via Netgalley and Crooked Lane Books, in return for an honest review. This is the fifth book in this series. Town library director, Amy Webber, and her fiancé, Richard, are celebrating their wedding with a big party. Hosted by mysterious Kurt Kendrick, they’re surprised by unexpected guests, including Amy’s brother, as well as a business associate of Kurt’s. When Amy and Richard discover a body and their friend is implicated in the death, Amy takes time out from work and wedding to figure out what happened. Assisted by family and friends, Amy’s determined to make it down the aisle, alive and in one piece.
I had not read previous books in this series and, I think, it would have helped to understand the cast of characters and their relationships to each other. The first part of the story lost me as I tried to figure out all the characters and the backstory to Amy and Richard. They seem likable and I’ll look for the first books in the series to build my knowledge.

This fifth book in the Blue Ridge Library cozy mystery series is, once again, a solid installment in the series, which features Amy Webber, small town library director who is planning her upcoming wedding.

I love this series for the interesting plots and the terrific cast of supporting characters.

A wonderfully done cozy which I'd definitely recommend.

I look forward to each installment of this series! I love the quirky characters and the fact that the story takes place in the mountains of Virginia!

I absolutely love this series and this author. I’m so glad that we finally get to see Amy and Richard’s wedding—I’ve been waiting for a while! As with all the books in this series, it was very well written. If I had one complaint (and its a very small one) the mystery was at times a bit complicated to follow along. I’m a speed reader and I found that I needed to go back a reread a few things to get them straight. Overall, a very good book and I really hope this isn’t the end of Taylorsford.

A return visit, to Taylorsford, Virginia, for the celebration of the upcoming wedding of Amy Webber and Richard Muir turns into a week full of renewed friendships, love and murder. Amy must uncover the truth regarding a valuable book that may hold the answers to a lifetime of questions as well as murder. Solving the mystery and preparing for her wedding keep Amy looking over her shoulder and at wedding preparations!

I'm a huge fan of this series! It reminds me of a gothic suspense romance, a cozy mystery and a wonderful historical novel all in one book. The mystery had several "red herrings" (which I love) and kept me guessing until the end. Amy has grown, over the course of the series, into an excellent amateur sleuth.. The intrigue of the mysterious and deadly Kurt Kendrick continues with a few more answers about his connection to Amy and her family. Other characters like Amy's Aunt Lydia, her best friend Sunny, Amy's family, friends and future "in-laws" bring a wonderful sense of community to the book.

I'm looking forward to another visit to Taylorsford, Virginia

I received an ARC from NetGalley. The opinions expressed are my own.
