Looking for a fast read? Finishing up a reading challenge this holiday weekend? Well look no further for a book that you will devour in one sitting.
FLOAT PLAN by @trishdoller @stmartinspress #griffin was released earlier this year. It’s a delightful and inspiring read about Anna, who needs to find herself again after her fiancé sadly commits suicide {trigger warning}. When the pre-schedule sailing trip she and her fiancé Ben had planned pops up on her calendar, Anna decides to take the expedition on her own, navigating the boat by herself. When she struggles with an ominous sail one night she decides there is no way she can continue on her own and hires experienced boater Keane to assist. Of course Keane is grappling with his own personal path in life and was trying to decide what to do next, so this trip was perfect for him.
Built around a beautiful sailing trip based in the Caribbean, with amazing descriptions of the scenes around the area, Trish Doller has written a delightful read about moving on, finding love again, and letting go of the past. The friends to lovers romance between Anna and Keane is sultry and sweet and Keane is every woman’s dream.
I found this to be a page turner, not only to find out what happens to Keane and Anna but because of the emotional journey. The writing was inspirational and truly hits home for anyone who has experienced loss and/or is at a crossroads in life. Trish was able to take this tragic experience for Anna and show that you really can move on again in an extremely light and delightful way. That’s not easy to do. I found myself crying tears of sadness and joy throughout this book and didn’t want the story to end. It really is an easy read.
A one and done read (one day read) I know you will devour this book just like I did. I highly recommend picking it up.

Thank you for the review copy. This book was just for me. I really love books about grief. I will share this book at a future episode on books that dive into grief.

Such an amazing story with the perfect amount of slow burn. Would recommend to every romance reader!

This quick read that packs the punch was a nice refresher to the lighter romances that I have been reading.
And the audio book has the accent of the male MC and SWOOOOOON!
Float Plan follows Anna’s journey of finding herself after the death of her fiancé.
How can she move on and also honor Ben while simultaneously also sailing a boat?
This book broke my heart. Put it back together. Broke it again. And then so on and so forth.
If you’re in for an emotional packed romance this book is definitely for you! Anna has an understandably hard time differentiating her sail around the world versus her life with Ben still in it and it’s a lot to take in for the heart.
However, the MCs connection is instant and Keane’s complete understanding of what she’s going thru is overwhelming yet he brings a lightness to the whole scenario while still managing to seem like a sea-side play boy that is just out of reach due to his goals in life to sail again.
Queenie was the absolute best sea pup and it made me instantly want a third dog! (I know I’m insane)
TW: suicide, depression, death of a significant other
Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This just didn’t end up being a book that interested me. When I first read the premise, I was very excited and invested, but getting into it made it clear that it just wasn’t for me. Hopefully it works for others out there!

This was a delight! I was definitely nervous going into it because it seemed to have a heavier premise but I loved Anna and Keane. I felt that the author did a wonderful job of weaving in a romance with a background that includes some very challenging struggles such as suicide and loss of limb. In either of the situations that these characters were in, it would have been easy to give up but they both learned resilience from their struggles. This is not a high drama romance which may not appeal to some but I think the feeling of hope that pervades the story will be very attractive to most romance readers. I am so happy to have gotten to read this ARC.

This was a wonderful book - full of hurt and hope. The main characters and the wonderful people they meet on their journey were very well developed. This was a great book!

I needed this book with every part of my heart and soul. I feel like I sailed all the way from Florida to Trinidad with Anna and experienced everything she did too. The loss of the love of her life was immense and present every moment of her journey. Every new place she arrived at and adventure she went on, slowly healed her heart. Keane was the solid rock Anna needed at that time. My heart skipped a beat when they finally kissed and said I love you! The more profound lesson from Trish Dollers Float Plan is that, we must learn to stand alone before we can really be with someone else. You have to be able to bare living without them. Very "everything happens for a reason" people come in and out of our lives for moments at a time. Cherish these moments.
Thank you Netgalley for my ARC in exchange for my honest oppinion.

Where do I begin? While this deals with loss and grief, it wasn't overwhelming or triggering. But heartwarming. Perfect summer read

This one has gotten so many amazing reviews, but I just didn't connect with it. I didn't connect with the characters or the love story.

This book was so cute!!! I hate that I waited so long to pick it up!! I thoroughly enjoyed the growth of the MC. And the relationships that she found along her adventure. What a cute book!

Oof, gave me a serious case of travel envy. Lost a star for the too perfect Keane and the too tidy ending (all crankiness likely from me speeding through the ending during another bout of the can’t sleeps).

Deals with some tough issues. The mc was enjoyable and the setting/info about boats was different from usual for this genre.

Dealing with grief and loss is something we've become too familiar with in the past year. This book handles these emotions in such a sweet and heartbreaking manner. Really enjoyed this.

Can I give more than 5 stars? This title was emotional, heartwarming, and honestly just hit the spot. I cried several times while reading this and found myself returning to favorite passages after I finished the title.

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martins Press for my gifted copy of this beautiful story.
I started reading this book while sitting in the pool while my kids swam. Sitting in the water made me feel like I was actually on the sailboat which made this a perfect book to read during the summer.
Throughout the book Anna is dealing with the grief of losing her fiancé to suicide. Even though Ben and Anna had planned a sailing trip together and he wasn't around anymore Anna decides to go on it anyways. The only thing is that she has never sailed a boat on her own before and she soon realizes that she is in over her head.
Anna ends up hiring Keane to help her sail the boat and they begin to realize that they are both healing from different types of grief.
I loved the adventures of Anna and Keane in this sweet story.

Don’t let the cover fool you, this one is a punch right to the gut. I had seen some of my favorite bookstagrammers raving about this book so I picked it up on a whim. And I got a whole lot more than I bargained for …in the best way
Anna is grieving the devastating and unexpected loss of her fiancée Ben. Prior to his death, Ben had a passion project refinishing a boat and the pair had planned a sailing trip together. Anna decides to take the trip herself and after a rough first go, she realizes that she’s can’t do it on her own. After a chance encounter, she hires Keane. The two become fast friends and Keane becomes an important part of Anna’s journey to healing.
I thought this was a great exploration of grief and the journey one goes on when trying to move forward. I really liked both of these characters who were flawed and human.

Bottom line: I loved every second of this. The author put me through a lot of emotions going through this book, but the end left me feeling lighter than ever.
First about the characters, I connected with both. Anna was a delight; her adventure through everything she was going through was amazing, strong yet vulnerable, never letting fear take over. And Keane was seriously one of the most sincere and genuine characters I've ever read, he was charming and just wonderful. And with characters like this it is impossible to write a bad romance, being something adorable and sweet to read.
Now the real question is ... who's going to hop in a boat with me so we can sail around while we find ourselves?

These two characters captured my heart in their dialogue - full of honestly, wit and grit. More than just another romance story, this book is about working through grief and finding how to live through it. I don't know much about sailing but that did not hinder any part of brain and heart from jumping into the journey!
The sign of a fantastic book that if I would want to read it again and yes dear friends, I would want to read this one again.

This wasn't exactly what I thought it would be, but i still really liked it. Anna was brave and foolish alternately, and seemed to find just the right (or wrong) people to help her along her physical and emotional journey.
