Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

This is a short read but I struggled to stay focused with it. It was a good premise but unfortunately it didn't quite live up to my expectations and didn't keep me gripped. I like the characters though.

Thank you for the advanced copy of this book
To be honest, this really did not live up to my expectations. It was certainly not as described in the blurb and I didn't finish it.

This book was just an okay read. Although there were a few twists in it the story overall was quite predictable and did not keep me interested.

Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

In all honesty, this book failed to live up to my expectations, it was far from what was described in the blurb. Sorry, this one was not for me.

Unfortunately, I took too long to read this book and so I'm not able to give a full review. The first couple of chapters that I read were engaging, but I was interrupted by moving and didn't get to finish. 3 stars for a neutral review.

This was a fantastic, quick read novel.
Pax finds himself in an unthinkable situation when he ignores alarming sounds coming from the apartment above his. When he learns what has taken place, he then has to make a decision...does he continue to deceive his girlfriend Emi, or come clean about what he feels he allowed to happen.
I thought the characters were great, and the premise of the storyline was also intriguing. I did however find some aspects of the story lacking in places.
An enjoyable read with a good plot.

* I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in return for my honest review.*

Unfortunately I struggled to get into this book. The storyline was good and I could relate to the characters. Just not the page turner I was expecting.

Such a shame but I just couldn't get into this. Think it was the style of writing as I enjoyed the storyline and it was very well written just not my kind of writing style.

Thank you Netgalley.

The biggest problem with The Lies I Never Told You is that the reader is never given the chance to fully invest in the characters. Pax is nothing more than a man-child holding on to adolescent dreams of being an actor, and his romantic interest Emi is so cold and stoic it's hard to believe that anyone could actually be that way. The author spends so much time trying to make us care about the innerworkings of these two people and the horrible event that ties them together that in the end in just seems pretentious and overbearing.

This book really didnt have the wow factor for me. I found it to be rather slow . Timing in the book is all over the place and the ending was rather disappointing. It is a short read which I was grateful for as I sort of wanted to finish it and move on to my next book.

I'm not sure if I would call this a twisty suspenseful thriller, but nonetheless I really enjoyed it. Well written, compelling story and interesting characters. I really look forward to reading more from this author!

The translation and the idea of this book are both fantastic but unfortunately I could not get into this book. It took me a very long time and I struggled to get past almost half way although I did continue.
I was lost a lot of the time reading this book and wasn’t sure where I was or what was even going on.
Thank you Netgalley, author and publisher for the opportunity but unfortunately this book was not for me.

I'm sure i'm not the only one when i say that i pick up a book just because the description was so tempting and was hopeful for a great time altogether, but i was so lost while reading this book.
There are characters that i liked and the writing is very good, but i couldn't get into the story at all.
I was confused because of the then and now timeframe and so many things that i wanted to add up, to make more sense so i can put the pieces of the puzzle together , but it was just hard to do so.
And i hate when i have to put a book down and pick it up at a later time just because maybe that time i will see everything with other eyes , but that's not the case at all.
Maybe other people will enjoy it more, unfortunately it wasn't for me.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy through NetGalley.

I’m afraid I found the shifting perspectives and timeframes hard to follow, and it seemed to end rather abruptly. I did however enjoy the concept and story and the relationships between the characters.

I did not like some aspects of this read. It didn't seem like a thriller. The mystery aspect was just fine but I didnt understand where the thriller part came into it.

I did like the characters. They were written very well

This book keeps you on the edge of each page as you navigate through the impact a decision can make in the lives of

Them? Are we that selfless? This book explores this aspect of humans in a great way.

I hate to be mean but this was the first DNF of the year , I was confused the whole time and the book didn’t flow together at all. I don’t want to be mean because the subject would have been great but the delivery was a jumbled mess.

Honestly, this book was extremely boring. The majority of the plot is revealed in the blurb on Goodreads and there were no big twists/surprises in the story. In addition to the abysmal plot, the writing was simply not good. This piece of literature is a perfect example of why it is important to expand upon characters' feelings, thoughts, and actions. Simply telling the reader what a character is feeling is not enough. For this reason, the characters in the story were flat and made this title a tedious read.
