An excellent story about 2 fraternal twin sisters, written from both of their perspectives! Kept me captivated from beginning to end. Would highly recommend. I read in one day and will definitely be reading more from this author.

I usually really enjoy this author and while I did like this book of two sisters, one very competent and the other who needs the support her sister provides, I didn't like it AS well as her other books.
The Good Sister takes care of her younger sister with Asperger's syndrome. Funny and cute but definitely dark in some points.

This novel is written from the perspective of Australian fraternal twins who are different not only physically but emotionally. Fern is a young librarian who is on the spectrum, and her sister Rose is diabetic, married and wants a child. The story follows them through events which reveal their true characters, and which is really the good sister.

Fern and Rose are fraternal twins who share an unbreakable bond. Fern works in a library and struggles with a sensory disorder. Rose lovingly does everything in her power to help Fern overcome the world that overwhelms her.
I fell in love with Sally Hepworth's writing style in The Mother-in-Law. Her subtle, yet twisted, plot lines are appealing. Hepworth's characters are so well developed that you feel like you know them. I cannot say that I liked this one quite as much as The Mother-in-Law, but I still really enjoyed it. I wish Hepworth spent a little more time on the falling action, and I felt this plot was a bit more predictable. However, with all of that being said, I still loved it!
Thank you NetGalley for an arc of another great read by Sally Hepworth.

Five big beautiful stars!
Sally Hepworth can write! This is my third novel by Hepworth and my third 5 star rating. Her character development is top notch. I cant begin to tell you how much I loved, The Good Sister! Truly amazing.
Thank you, NetGalley and St. Martins Press for sending me a complimentary eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I received this book "The Good Sister" from NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own. I did not want to put this book down. Sally Hepworth really knows how to write a great book. I have loved all of her books that I have read so far. I was reading this every second I could. A thriller for sure that will keep you guessing. Although I have rated a few books five stars this year I think this one is my favorite. Amazing.

Thank you Netgalley and St Martin's Press for allowing me to read this ARC. This book was the best use of two POVs I have ever read! This book was good the whole way through, it didn't bog down in the middle like so many books do. Kudos to the editing team. I loved Fern and how the book dealt with her sensory issues. I didn't like reading about abuse, so I skipped over most of it. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is I don't think I would read it again, But it is totally worth reading. I will be looking for more books by Sally Hepworth now.

I received an ARC of this book and I am so glad I was able to read it ahead of it's publication date! Thank you for the opportunity.
From the time I started reading this book, I was absolutely hooked. It tells the tale of twin sisters, with an apparently neglectful mother, and follows their story from childhood through adulthood. I enjoyed reading the "back and forth" between journal entries from Rose's point of view depicting their childhood and the traumatic relationship they experienced with their mother, to going forward to present time and reading Fern's point of view of her relationship with her sister, her mother, and the world around her.
I have a child with autism, and the way that the author writes about Fern, who has sensory processing disorder, appears to be very accurate and I could feel her experiences as I read the book and pulled from my own life with my daughter.
Kudos to Sally Hepworth for weaving a tale that kept me guessing throughout the story. I look forward to reading more from her.

Thank you to Sally Hepworth, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for this ARC.
"Why can't I just be normal?"
"You are. It's everyone else who are the weirdos."
I absolutely LOVED this story! Fern and Wally/Rocco are such amazingly written characters. (They reminded me of Sheldon Cooper, in early BBT episodes.) The ending was a bit of a twist, and I definitely did not care for Rose.
Another wonderfully written family drama from the amazing Sally Hepworth.

I could not put down the new novel by Sally Hepworth, The Good Sister. Fern is a young woman, working at the library and protects herself from the sensations of the world with noise-canceling earphones and goggles. Despite her struggles with the world, her big sister, Rose, is always there as a protector even against their mom.
However, when Fern meets a man named Wally and becomes unexpectedly pregnant, she learns some deep dark secrets of her family.
It will be hard not to read this book in one sitting. Thank you, NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book.

I absolutely loved this book. Sally Hepworth has done it again! The Good Sister is told from alternating POV of two sisters, fraternal twins, Rose and Fern. Interesting look at complex relationships between sisters, as well as mothers and daughters. A fast-paced domestic suspense novel with unreliable narrators that will keep you guessing.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Highly recommend for fans of domestic suspense.

I’ve read all Sally Hepworth’s books and enjoyed them , but the Good Sister is in a league of its own. In the beginning we’re introduced to fraternal twins who tell their story in alternating chapters, Rose through her journal, Fern In her present life. The delightful character of Fern is what makes the book so special in my eyes. Working at a library, Fern is high functioning but on the spectrum and has severe sensory problems. She intercepts a man who comes in the library and since he’s dressed like a famous character in a book decides his name is Wally. They strike up a friendship that for the first time in her life quickly becomes something more special, and she’s happy about that.
We’re introduced to Rose as she writes about their shared childhood and abusive mother. Rose, whom Fern depends on, has left for London to visit her husband, and for the first time in a very long time, Fern is free from restrictions and she’s happy. but Rose returns home early when she finds out Fern is seeing someone and we are slowly shown a truer version of their relationship.
I was delighted with and loved Fern’s story and her beginning relationship with Wally and would have been very happy not to have this story turn into a suspense novel. But slowly it did, and as I was by this time very invested in Fern and Wally, felt compelled to stay up until 4 am to finish the story. I’d put the book down, turn off the lights, only to snatch it back up because I was on pins and needles to see what happened next.
An excellent tale, with beautifully fleshed out characters whom I’m sorry to say goodbye to. My only regret is that our patrons will have to wait until 2021 to read the book, and I want to share and promote it with everyone now.! I’d give it more than five stars if I could.

I've read her most recently released book on a whim and enjoyed it enough I recognized the author name and just had to request the arc for the next one. I'm so glad I did. This book is excellent. It's an interesting story, well developed characters, and an overall good read. By about halfway through I had a good idea what was going on but it didn't take away from the interest and I wanted to keep reading to see how it ended. I don't want to post any spoilers but I suggest and recommend you read this book, especially if you enjoy psychological type books. Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the opportunity to read and give my honest review. Must read book;

It’s RARE for a book to keep me up ALL NIGHT, making me turn the pages as fast as I can till I reach the very last one. “The Good Sister” is now on that very short list!
.
Two adult twin sisters, Rose and Fern, have lives and stories so intertwined, it’s hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. Rose tells her story through a journal, Fern tells hers in real time. As close as they are, we learn they are two very different people with different perspectives on their childhood years. From a young age, they share a dark secret that casts a shadow on their present-day lives.
.
I don’t want to give a single thing away about this book. It has so many things I love – complicated family ties, a good twisty mystery, a library, a dash of romance and true friends revealed.
.
I loved Sally Hepworth’s last book, “The Mother-in-Law,” so much that I chose it for my book club, where it made for great discussion. I loved this one even more. Congratulations to @sallyhepworth - masterfully done!
.
Many thanks to NetGalley for the advanced reader copy (I felt like I won the lottery, even moreso after reading the book).

Wow! I read this book in one sitting today. I did not want to put it down. I love the reading from the two perspectives of the sisters Rose and Fern. I definitely did not see the twist coming in the end! Loved it!!!

Omg. Seriously though omg. I cannot get over how amazing this book was. Truly a 5 star read. I read it in one day because I could not put it down!!! Y’all have got to read this as quickly as possible. Another knockout read by Sally Hepworth. I cannot wait for more!!!

This is a book that is NOT TO BE MISSED! Wow—where to begin?! I absolutely loved this thrilling, intriguing and slightly creepy novel. I could not stop reading once I began and it completely captures my undivided attention! Highly, highly recommend!

Thanks to NetGalley, publisher and author, for allowing me the honor to read this amazing book for free so I can review it. What a wonderful, engaging, interesting, "can't put down" story. It had me hooked from beginning to end. This could be one of my most favorite books I've ever read. There is a perfect mix of drama, mystery and heart. I enjoyed this book so much, I'm sad I finished it. I'll be thinking of this book and the characters for a long time. I plan to gift this book to the people I love the most.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth. I am giving this book a poor review because I enjoy "feel good" stories and this certainly was not until the end. Actually, it made me anxious. I grew fond of the main character and found the things she was going through was upsetting me and making me just want to put the book down and forget about it, but I rarely to never not finish a book. I would not be recommending this book and it does not fill the bill for a feel good summer read.

The twist was really interesting, but other than that I thought this book was pretty boring. I almost DNF’d it a few times but decided to make myself finish. I was sympathetic for Fern, but I also disliked her at times, and I couldn’t connect with any of the other characters.
The pacing didn’t work for me - super slow until the twist, and then things sped up too much - and I honestly just didn’t care what happened to the characters. I’m surprised to see so many high reviews. Maybe I missed something, but I just wasn’t a fan of this book. Sally Hepworth’s debut was much better.
